We've been here for 3 years in a couple of weeks and haven't done much - it was a new build. Daughter's room is done and lovely - but apart from that and downstairs toilet nothing has been done - and I am getting impatient to do it now!

We are in a new build too so it seems we are in the same boat.  Only things done is kitchen, 2 upstairs bathrooms and my daughter's room... our room is done too, except for the floor... I'm not sure what to do with them - varnish them, paint them or do something else entirely.  The hallway is nearly complete except I want to paint the walls a different colour.

You've done more than us then!! Floors are all done - first thing done in here - helps when your dad's business is carpets, vinyl and wood floors!!! Great discounts too!!!

We'll get there eventually - would help if i didn't keep looking at raw silk curtains at 50 a metre etc... and then other things don't look as good!!! and maybe if we stopped going on holiday we could save some money to get stuff done

For me it would!!! So many of my friends live far away so need to travel to see them! - but to be honest none of our holidays are expensive - so that is my excuse to justify it all! And this summer I am combining one holiday into visiting my friend in holland, daughter's birthday party, 2 u2 concerts, visitng friends in poland (one of my friend's mum is my daughter's other grandma) and visiting another friend in belgium on the way home (a certain belgian barbara!) - so not bad for 2 weeks!

That kind of a "tour" would be an ordeal for me.  But whatever rocks your boat ... without getting you wet!

As long as the ferry boat doesn't rock lol!!! We all love travelling around like that in the car - it is great way to see everything. last year we went straight to poland for a few days, romania for 4 nights (great country), Croatia for a night, Slovenia, austria for 4 nights (in the alps - beautiful) and a final night with friends in france - a huge grand tour of europe for a bargain cost and so many memories. But I do understand how people would hate doing this and how it would not be a relaxing holiday for some!

I think all that driving would piss me off in no time.  I did travel to Brussels by plane and then drove to the Netherlands (maastricht - lovely town, reminds me of Galway) and then went down to luxembourg  for the day.  That was the most driving I've ever done in 2 days.  No, I lie.  I once drove from Cleveland, Ohio to Rhode Island... that was the longest drive I ever did.  And painful.  My arse was so afterwards!  tongue.gif

laugh.gif We never do to much driving in one day - especially with little one and we stop for breaks, but we love it. Think the longest I have ever done was with my parents and brother and drove from New York to LA over 2 weeks - now that was a road trip!
