Hi all, I've been a fan since the War album back in 1983........It was the sunday bloody sunday video from Red Rocks 1983 that made me a fan.

I've been a member on here for several years....on and off.

Started posting for the first time here since last week.

Edit: I'm one of those too before Live Aid  :)

Hello everyone, this is Matt from NJ. Long time subscriber, new to Zootopia. I've been a fan since '85, seen every show that has come through Philly from the JT tour to 360. Had to venture up NY to see them at MSG on the I&E Tour( and it pains me to say this...it wasn't one of their best shows, like the electricity & excitement just wasn't in the room.) But the pinnacle for me was when I got to see them in Ireland in '09. I was lucky ☘️enough to win a trip through my local radio station. Frig'n crazy!!! Right?? Man, I was on a high for months after that !!!(lots of funny stories from that trip) I'm looking forward to the up coming tour, pretty excited...but also a little reserved in a strange way. Can't explain it. I'll be going with family & friends. We were all able to get GA's (lucky again, I guess. ☘️) I can go on & on with stories from over the years, but I won't bug ya. LOL!!!

Hey everyone. I am a sorta new member. I was a member a few years ago and have since re-subscribed. I just wanted to drop by and say hi and hope everyone is excited for the upcoming tour. I have been a fan for 29 years and this will be the first time I ever get to see them in concert. I had a chance during the Zooropa tour, but my best friends brother decided to take the ticket instead. But now, its finally my turn to see them.

Has anyone heard any info on what the 2017 subscription gift will be? I won the serigraph set in a contest so I didnt need another set of those. So, I was curious if anyone had heard anything.

Just popped in to say hello.

Have a great weekend.

Thanks so much. I figured it would have already been released, but thought they may try to tie it in with the tour somehow. Its nice to have a place to come and chat with other fans. I only have one other friend who is as diehard as me. My family doesnt get it lol

I am hoping to maybe try to get a chance to meet them, but I highly doubt that. But, we shall see come June. I am counting down the days.

Thanks again

Karen

Hello everyone!

I am new to the forum, but I have been a U2 fan for over 30 years. I can remember laying on the beach listening to Under a Blood Red Sky during a family vacation in Florida...I was 15 years old.  Saw the band when they came to Detroit during the Vertigo tour and it was like going to church for me...and I don't go to church!  The bands lyrics and music soothe me when I am troubled and pick me up when I am down.  The best thing ever is that my kids, ages 13 and 16 are huge U2 fans (they were raised on U2).  On June 3rd, my husband and I are taking them to their first U2 concert in Chicago!  Because of their hearing disabilities, we will be sitting on the ADA platform where there will be shadow interpreters, using American Sign Language.  My kids can speak well, but hearing details in a crowd is very challenging.

U2's music is special to our family as it has been like therapy for us as we have undergone some scary medical challenges.  Our kiddos both live with multiple rare genetic chronic medical conditions and are severely hard of hearing and rely on hearing aids.  They have had 24 surgeries between the two of them, including brain and spine. When they were born, we questioned if they would live, let alone walk and talk.  It has been a long road and they still have a number of medical challenges, but they are bright, witty and talented.

When other kids were watching Blue's Clues, mine were watching a recording the bands show in Chicago (Vertigo Tour).  I can remember hearing my daughter when she was three years old singing, "Your eyes make a circle, I see you when I go in there..." A capella.  She she weighed all of 19 lbs, but her voice was so deep and man could she could belt out I Will Follow.  Like many children do, she had an imaginary friend and his name was Bono.  For about a year, Bono with with her everywhere, including preschool, doctor's appointments and even on a family vacation to Florida and Disney World. It was adorable.

Just 4 years ago, I took managed to sneak this video of my babies playing "Name that U2 Tune".  I was impressed!  You can watch here:

Despite their hearing loss...they are also somewhat musical.  My son has played drums for a bit, and my daughter plays piano and violin...we are told that she has perfect pitch despite her hearing loss.  Sadly, her fine motor issues are getting the way of her playing, but her mind is still musical. She recently composed a piece of music on piano and had her violin teacher play it for her...it was simple, but beautiful.  Her teacher thought that it sounded Irish...which is fitting as her name is Shea which is Celtic for "Pixie or Fairy Like".   Her name suits her...at age 16, she is only 4' 8" and done growing due to one of her medical conditions.  But what she lacks in size she more than makes up for in attitude.  Her taste in music are diverse, in addition to U2, she also also loves Black Sabbath.  My son Colton LOVES Tom Petty and The Heart Breakers along with U2.  We bought him tickets and are attending that show her in Michigan in July!

I am so excited to be able to share this experience as a family!

Can't wait for June!

Thanks!

Kerri Goff

Hi. Umm... so I'm not actually new, but I haven't been around the zoo for many years. I was here in the "old" zoo and even the "old old" zoo lol. Some may remember me as "Deblove". Anyway, I guess I'm back and just wanted to say "Hi". Will be seeing some familiar faces at the upcoming tour ;) x
