This is mildly interesting (extra shows?)

Recommended Posts

If they do one more NYC show on that missing id, please, please make it the 29th or 30th - then I can go! ;)

Travelling from Ireland to USA next year and don't arrive in NYC until 29th - would love to see the band outside of Ireland. Staying in the new yorker hotel across the bloody road from MSG fer Gods sake too!

But I'm DC, Maryland, Ohio and PA the week the band are doing all the NYC dates. Awful planning on reflection. Still got my presale code in hope for Dublin gigs, but would use it for an NYC date if it fell on 29TH/30TH!

Go on U2, make a not so old man happy! :)

Unfortunately, I wouldn't hold your breath.  They're adding shows in pairs--and just added the 26th/27th.  It's very unlikely they'll add any more in NYC.  If they did, it'd be July 30/Aug. 1, which would work for you.  But they won't--the 4 original NYC shows didn't sell out fast enough (they still aren't totally sold out, except the first).  Plus, they wouldn't add just one show--it'd be two, adding to its unlikeliness.  I'd seriously consider modifying my travel plans if I were you!

I know, I'm already resigned to that re: dates as a long time fan. As for modification of travel plans, I considered that too, but it would be too selfish, I've got the family to consider as well. Whilst me and the wife might jump at a U2 concert opportunity, the kids aren't as big on them!

I'll keep the presale code in the hope the Dubs dates closer to home get announced sometime within the next few weeks.

Just pulling this up again... Interestingly, they removed the "id" numbers from the page now, heh.

Blues are the ones that are now confirmed, and clearly shows they were in the system before the original sales were announced.

The reds are still open slots?

Am I thinking you are saying NY is now done?  There was an 8 show plan but it looks like 6 now?

New York's done for sure.  And remember, none were added for LA (even though they had room to add 4).

Looked at it quickly, so I may have messed up, but if I am remembering correctly, one of the NY ones switched ID for some reason and there is one "mystery" one.

There is no way of saying what that actually means. Maybe they just reserved all those dates so they could add them quickly if they wanted and now decided against it, because of disappointing ticket sales.

For LA people there were rumours about 8 shows, but I guess they held back for some reason or other. I thought those sold quickly as well though.

Maybe they'll have a third batch of sales though. There's still gaps if you consider a 2 shows - 2 days off schedule.

Logistically and resource wise, it make sense to fill those gaps.... don't want to keep paying crew etc for days off

If you look at what's left for the LA shows, I think there's plenty of tickets left for each show. It's probably not likely they'd add more to LA. I was hoping they would add different city in between LA and Montreal.......Las Vegas could be perfect.

Maybe the band wants to try something different this time around: only do a short amount of shows, then have breaks in between.

It's highly unlikely they'll add new cities. It said in the tour announcement 19 cities, and we all know which they'll be.

Yeah, I think Kristaps is right (i.e., no new cities).  Also, the LA shows have not sold well--still nowhere near selling out, so they're done.  And NYC still has some left for the original 4 shows, so I think we were lucky to get 2 more there--very unlikely that there'll be two more beyond that.  On the other hand, a bunch of other places DID sell out pretty fast (e.g., London/02; Toronto, a couple  more venues in Europe), and yet haven't gotten any more shows yet--even though there's "room" for them in the schedule.  Odd.
