subscriber? ticket cancelled? post here! (MERGED)

Recommended Posts

those who have had cancellation from ticketmaster (or other agency) and you feel unfairly so, please add your name so we can get it looked at for you.

We are working through names who have already contacted us, and if you have had that cancellation revoked and tickets reinstated, we want to know also.

Here's my letter to U2.com:

Dear U2.com,

I feel compelled to write to you to let know of my situation concerning the pre-sales ticket sales.

Both my wife and I have been U2.com members, I can’t remember for how long!  We’ve enjoyed pre-sales in the past and thank you very much for that!  However, what has happened now has really gotten me upset!!!

My wife and I decided to hit the Toronto July 6th show with our daughter (our newest U2 fan).  We took part in the pre-sales and purchased 3 tickets (1 ticket with my pre-sales code and 2 tickets with my wife’s pre-sales code).  What happened a few days later shocked me completely.  We received an email from the ticketing company (Ticket Master) stating that we exceeded our limit and that our order, either in part or full would be cancelled.

I immediately called up Ticket Master to find out what was going on.  They informed me that because we both live at the same address (our billing address for both of our credit cards and because we’re married) that 1 of the tickets for the July 6th show was revoked!  I couldn’t believe this.  How could they?  I clearly only purchased 3 tickets not 5; which would have exceeded our limit of 4 because of our 2 pre-sales codes.

I pleaded with them and even asked to speak to a Manager, but they stood firm and would not give me my GA ticket back.

I have to say that I think this process is flawed.  I can understand what it is trying to achieve with some people getting their hands on many tickets and reselling them for ridiculous amount of money to fans, but this process is clearly flawed and we are proof of that.

Now we are 1 ticket short going as a family because we were “painted” with the same brush as a scalper!  I can’t believe it.  Some 32 years being a U2 fan and something like this happens to me!  This is not right and I thought you should know.

Thanks for reading!

Russ

Hi there-

I also had a problem with Ticketmaster with the pre-sale. After about 45 minutes I was able to finally get a pair of GA tickets using my pre sale code for MSG - July 23.....

I then used my sister's pre sale code to help her with tickets since she was having major problems with her computer and had to run to a meeting. After about another hour and a half I was able to secure 2 GA tickets for the same show on July 23 using her presale so she can go with her husband and join my wife and I.

I used my credit card for her tickets, as well as mine. I never even thought twice about using the same card because I was using her pre sale code.

On Friday I received and email saying one or all of my orders would be cancelled. I was in shock and called Ticketmaster.....I first spoke with Carmen (located in Texas) who told me that the rules are one pair of tix maximum per household.....I explained that I used 2 separate codes and if you look at my Ticketmaster account and my sister's you will see the same last name and in 2 different homes and states. I said it was a human error mistake that people make every day and that I do not see it written clearly boldly that I should only use one credit card. I go no where with her but refused to just give up since I knew I was in the right. She said she would have a Supervisor call me back .....so about 20 minutes later Carlos (also in Texas) called back and explained the same thing and wouldn't budge. His only suggestion was to get tickets during the General Sale today....I explained i already had tickets and you took them away.....I asked him if he could help secure tickets today in the General sale and he said that would not be fair to everyone else....in which i said it was not fair that I had my sister's tickets cancelled....I asked to go above him and he hung up on me .

I will gladly pass on any other info that is needed to help get this fixed.....I still have one pair of tix in GA for July 23, but the second set for my sister was cancelled.  I had no luck with the general sale today.......

Thanks for listening and I hope something can be done to fix this.

Sincerely,

Anthony

I would mainly like to know when we are in the clear and not have to compulsively look at my ticketmaster account every few hours.  My tickets are now able to be printed and my CCard has been charged,  Plus TM said I was fine since I had two different codes (both my wife and I are longtime members).

My sister, oliviaedge1, was not able to use her presale code last week despite trying for hours Friday. It kept spinning and then would stop. Both she, myself, and a friend tried again today to get GA tickets for Boston 1 and 2. My sister had GAs in her cart twice and they were "lost" despite the timer never running out. Once, it said her security code on the credit card was incorrect though it wasn't. She lost the tickets of course. We are both long time fans and I am a subscriber since the propaganda days. I've never seen such a mess with tickets. I know U2 normally takes care of their fans, but it seems that scalpers and ticketmaster have got the best of them this go around. What a shame.

How about an issue of getting charged $1,000 dollars in tickets and no tickets to show for it?  Is that something that can be brought to TM's attention?  This was for today's general sale for the NYC shows.

Hi Mods! You assisted me via Twitter last Friday with code problems and I never got a chance to thank you for being so helpful and kind. I was able to get tickets with your assistance.

I had a ticket order canceled today via email from Ticketmaster. I have since called them and fixed the problem, but since you are collecting information about problems, I thought I would give you my experience.

I purchased 2 tickets for the same show via 2 separate transactions on Friday (1 ticket per transaction because the site would not find a pair of seats together). I received email confirmation for both transactions and also could see both ticket orders in My Orders on the TM website. Today, one of those orders was canceled. I let it go, just because of all the presale problems and I just did not have it in me to fight the fight anymore. A few hours later though, I noticed 3 separate transaction charges on my credit card. All from the Friday presale. Best I could figure, that piece of junk they call a website timed out or threw an error at the end of a sale and actually sold me a seat that I did not know about. Henceforth, I kept trying to buy a second ticket not knowing that I had already met my limit. I never received an email confirmation of that third sale and it did not show up under My Ticketmaster Order History.

I called TM, and was told no refunds for the third order that I could not even see. Then they disconnected me. I called back and pushed the issue again, and finally got them to agree to think outside the box and refund me for the unwanted and invisible ticket. So no action needed by you friendly mods, I just wanted to point out that I would never have noticed this unless I checked my credit card statement. There was absolutely no record on the TM website, in my inbox, or in my spam folder. It just did not exist on my end.

Again, thanks for all of your help and support!

Same issue here in Boston - fan since 81 member of the old propaganda etc seen them 40+ times    bought a subscrition for my wife never got loaded correctly - card and extra 2 years were dropped on my account - call TM - they gave me the extra CODE for the experience day 1 - success with 2 GA's --- explained to her we are bringing our 2 kids for the 1st time - she apologized before giving me the code and told me sorry for the 1 1/2 hrs on phone to wait & that YES i could still use my 2nd code for day 2 innocence --Success with the other 2 GA - and that we could straighten out the subscription error later --

NOW today i got one whole order cancelled by TM -because same household & card- sickening---- called and they said SORRY NO WAY WE CAN HELP

Funny FUNNY FUNNY how all this is being scrutinized by TM YET their  entire site is nothing but RESALE TIX

Time for MULLEN to fix everything again for us front row die hards.

Not Happy my kids GA TIX were reversed

I'm also curious how long it's not going to let me print my tickets? It's making me extremely anxious. I had already had to choose between my fiancé and my daughter which was hard. I only had one presale code so no double orders but it would be devastating to have to tell my daughter who is beyond excited that something happened. I like several others in here have been a fan for a long time and used be part of Propoganda as well. If we have paid our dues it seems like we should get first dibs and should be able to bring our families. I mean how cool is that that they have fans who are bringing their kids??!!

Hello. Same issues, different fan. I DID, however have luck with TM after a very heated half hour, (following the 1/2 hr. on hold).

Our daughter is an elementary school teacher, 22. She has never been to a U2 concert, an "iNNOCENT", but was raised on the boys, and her "bucket list" top item was

getting to "eXPERIENCE" at least one concert. She bought a membership. I also had renewed mine.

On Friday, I ordered and paid for my 2 tickets; my husband's and mine. It took around an hour of download/update/buffer; resorted to the phone app for TM,

per another fan's advice, thank you. After securing 1 pair, I logged back in w/ her account and bank info. It was a separate code, as other members are saying.

Since she's a teacher, she couldn't leave her third graders to buy tickets; that would be frowned upon...

The TM account already had my banking info. After ANOTHER hour + of searching, was able to secure a pair of tickets in the balcony.

Never DREAMED that the banking info. being from the same household would be an issue. It was a separate fan code, separate email registered to a different person.

I used my banking info. Made it her Christmas gift.

It TOOK the sale. Sent me the confirmed tickets. From Friday afternoon until today, Monday, @ 1:30pm EST, those 2 sets of tickets, the insurance, etc.,

showed in my app and I had several email confirmations.

So AFTER 3 full days of security, this email alert, "You've exceeded. Your tickets are gone. Check your account to see which pair."

I called Ticket Master, while I frantically emailed U2.com, while I searched the Sat. show 2 in Boston again for anything available. Oh, there was RESALE...

for 3x the original price!!!!!!

"Robert" of TicketMasochists, answered and in a slightly condescending way, explained that even if I had used my daughter's banking info., the tickets would still be gone.

She lives in a rental house in another town. But her banking account is still registered to our address. It would've kicked the tickets loose again.

BUT her pair was still in limbo from the release.

I called my father on my cell, who thank God answered, and allowed me to use his banking and address to have her tickets mailed.

So I owe him far more, I think, than the reimbursement of the ticket charges.

I was furious and shaking, but now after reading these other stories, I am very grateful that our scenario actually ended well.

At least for now.

Seriously hoping that all you other fans who got robbed and cheated have your tickets returned to you, or upgraded!

As far as the resalers are concerned? I think THEIR tickets should be revoked! And given to the TRUE fans who are trying to share the "eXPERIENCE" !

Good luck to all of you,

Jennifer

I found out from Ticketmaster by email this afternoon (once it was too late to try and get any public sale tickets) that they had cancelled two tickets that we had purchased for the U2 concert in Phoenix. This cancellation should not have occurred. My wife and I are both separate members/subscribers on the U2.com website, so each us should have been able to purchase two tickets to the event. We had both received emails from U2.com, each with a personal and distinct purchase ID valid for 2 tickets. We can even provide proof of this to ticketmaster to show the validity of our purchase. We were planning to take our children (12 and 15 years) to the event and once we had purchased the tickets, we told our children and made a hotel reservation in Phoenix for May. Our tickets were subsequently cancelled by Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster lists itself on the purchase website as an Agent, stepping into the shoes of U2. We love U2 and would hope that Ticketmaster would honor U2’s offer to each of us as subscribers.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi mods!

I just have the same issue: friday afternoon I purchased 3 tickets (seats) for NY 23rd with 2 DIFFERENT INNOCENCE CODES but with the same credit card (of a friend of mine) and last night I received ticletmaster's mail alerting me that the third tkt has been cancelled because "I exceed my number of tickets"!!!

Can't believe it!!!

The second problem is that, friday afternoon, i purchased 3 GA for NY 22nd, with 2 different presale codes, using the same credit card (the same credit card for all the GA but NOT THE SAME for the seats of the 23rd), but I haven't received any mail, yet.

What can I do?? I'm really speechless.. 6 tickets for 3 different presale codes, so.. what's the matter?

Can't believe it .. I'm furious
