subscriber? ticket cancelled? post here! (MERGED)

Hello,

My tickets got cancelled yesterday as well. Find below a copy of the message send to Ticketmaster. I have not received a response from them, and am not able to contact them by phone either (due to "high call volume").

---

Dear Sir/Madam,

Hopefully this message finds you well. I just received a notification that (2) of my u2 tickets at MSG on July 18th have been cancelled due to a violation of the purchase policy. Note that I am very familiar with the policy, and would like to clarify the situation.

When the tour was announced my friend XXX and myself signed up for the U2 fan club (@ $50 each) in order to get the pre-sale code. With this presale code we could both purchase (2) tickets.

When the tickets went on sale I purchased two tickets for myself, and went through the checkout procedure. Since XXX lives in the Bahamas, and both the financial system as well as the postal system are somewhat ‘challenging’, I offered to pay for his tickets instead. I understand your automatic system flagged this as a policy violation (for bots & ticket brokers). The truth is that the pre-sale code already ensured that we couldn't buy more tickets than allowed during the pre-sale (2-per person). Also, this purchase did comply with the 4-ticket max. per household.

To clarify, I'm not a bot, not a ticket broker, but simply a big U2 fan who did his buddy a favor. As mentioned, the pre-sale code made sure we complied with the ticket purchase policy and therefore I didn't expect this to happen.

Therefore, please re-instate the ticket. If you need any proof XXX U2 account and pre-sale code, please let me know. His e-mail is XXX. If you prefer to bill him directly, and ship the tickets to him, that's fine as well. If I expected this to be an issue, I would have either let him just pay for it directly (or use another card/name/address myself).

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks,

Kasper

can yu PM me the transaction numbers please, ta

and also your friends name here,

Find below the response from TicketMaster FYI:

---

Hello Kasper,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm glad to have received your email.

First I am sorry for the delay in responding to your request as our email queues have experienced a higher than normal volume. We are working diligently to answer all emails in the order they are received.

I understand what you were doing when you purchased the tickets for your friend, but as the ticket limit was violated a refund had to be provessed. While sometimes (like this time!) it’s possible to exceed the limit when buying tickets, all or part of those orders may be canceled without notice – even if the tickets have already been delivered. (This includes separate orders with the same name, billing address, credit card, IP address, etc.)

If you need anything else, just reply to this email or click Help on Ticketmaster.com.

Once again I do apologize, but I hope you have a good day!

Got a minute? Tell us how we're doing.

Sincerely,

Jonathan

the same IP adress-rule is a joke!! really?? so students, coworkers who couldnt get a day off for presale and buy their tix through same computer at work/college are being punished??? maybe try announcing a presale more than a day beforhand!!! there would have been no way i could get a day off to enter presale had i been working last week. and i bet i  wasnt the only one! so maybe some fans thought they were lucky cause, unlike me, they are allowed to use pc at work. but only if none of there coworkers are also u2 fan and want to use their own code for the same concert???

as members of u2.com we get that we are expected to follow this website's rules. and not expect to read all rules and conditions the ticketseller published and as some say are impossible to go through!

Question-I bought 2 Experience tickets in last weeks presale. Tomorrow, i'm buying for a friend using her code-her address, her cc info, here email. i'm using my same IP address possibly, but I assume this should be fine?

I have a 2nd friend who also can't get to a computer to buy-

Can I buy a fan club bundle when those go on sale,  using my CC? it'll be my address, but I can give the subcription registration over to this 2nd friend.

Will my info/cc/address from buying 2 tickets in the first presale, flag a new purchase of the fan bundle in the 2nd presale?

Trying to be preemptive here and not have issues. thank you

Could Bigwave obtain confirmation on a couple of items which are been asked here.

I was under the impression that the delivery delay was a period of time when checks were carried out by TM. After the tickets are available for printing or collection and the delay has been lifted does this ensure the tickets can not be cancelled?

The post above implies this is not the case. Tickets can be cancelled any time even after delivery.

And surely TM has some obligation to carry out checks promptly-not 2-3 weeks after the sales as quoted in another thread.

People have arrangements and travel plans to make.

My opinion on this matter is that the rules are ridiculous in this case.

Surely they realise people have two subs within the same household, use the same device and IP address and use one CC to order tickets.

I can see an issue with buying multiple tickets but 4 tickets with 2 subs on the same card???

Not really the motives of a scalper is it?

From a U2 fan perspective the whole charade has left a bad taste.

The ridiculously short presale announcement, were people have to arrange time from work etc. to the threat of ticket cancellation.

A shoddy way to be treat especially after putting literally thousands of dollars over the years into the band and its promoters.

BTW this is not aimed at the mods on this board-they are doing a great job in rectifying the situations people are finding there selves in.

TM should offer more assistance and clarification.

On this topic.. I used and experience code last Thursday for NY MSG 7/19 .. My wife also has an un used innocence code she plans on using tomorrow for one of the just added MSG shows ( different date) all CC billing address Etc.. is the same.. Because they are two different shows are we safe? It seems TM Is flagging and canceling pre sale orders that were done for the same specific show.. So basically they are saying only 2 tickets via pre sale code per show.. I called TM , and as you guess, the costumer service reps are clueless.. Does anyone know if this is the policy so I ,and other fans , don't run into the same situation as everyone else during this 2nd wave of pre sales

I've just called TM, once again ..

no way, I "exceeded their tickets limit with the same credit card/billing address", they apologize for the "inconvenient" but tickets won't be returned ...

:(((

I also asked about the presale code, which SHOULD be valid for tomorrow innocent presale, but she didn't know about promotional codes ...

I asked if I can use my credit card/my account for max 2 tickets per event on general sale next monday and, after checking TM rules because she wasn't sure what to answer, she told me that I could use it ... Hope she's right ..

I'm very disappointed and sad .. people who bought tix using presale code 2, 3 or 4 times now are safe with their tix and we, who followed the rules, are without our tickets, unfairly cancelled.

It's not right, not right.

And what about my presale code??? If tomorrow it isn't valid anymore, and I fear so, it's burnt! And my brother paid 50$ for it!!!

It's unfair, deeply unfair.

I think u2.com should take some actions to protect their true fans, first of all double checking the codes used 2,3 or more times and then making TM return tix unfairly cancelled.

(You mods, of course, are doing a great job and making great efforts to help us, and I - we - appreciate it very much. Thank you, once again.)

We have 5 codes and we used 1 each on 5 shows and have not had a problem at all.  OP are you saying 2 codes on one show?  That to me would feel dangerous.

A question I asked earlier in the thread.

"I was under the impression that the delivery delay was a period of time when checks were carried out by TM. After the tickets are available for printing or collection and the delay has been lifted does this ensure the tickets can not be cancelled?

Can we have some confirmation on the above points.

It will save the same questions being asked repeatly in the coming weeks.

Yesterday  I bought 2 tickets in the presale for the Boston 4 show.  They are for my wife (who is also a fan club member) and we share a CC, she is an authorized user on the account so we thought we'd be fine per TM's rules on their website regarding authorized users and credit card entry

" I used a card I share with my spouse – can they get in without me?

As long they’re an authorized card user! Just make sure your better half brings the card and a photo ID."

However upon looking at the cards today we realized that even though it is one account there are 2 different numbers on the cards!  I called my bank (Capital One) to ask about  this and they said they do that to track each individuals purchases even thoiugh it it is one account.

Will she be able to get into the show? Thanks!

Contact TM immediately, either via their website or by phone, and explain the issue - have any and all documents about the purchase in hand..

Hi Lemon,

I have a big problem... and I need urgent help...

For this tour I have subscribed 2 accounts on U2.com because I wanted to go with my girlfriend to Amsterdam to watch 2 shows (8th and 9th of September)  8th its my birthday.

Today, one friend of mine asked me to buy 2 tickets for him for Paris (15th November). But by my mistake I've used one of my U2 passcode (instead of his) that I've already used for one of the Amsterdam concerts (I don't know which of them). After 10 minutes I realized that I had done this mistake and so, I've tried to contact immediately u2.com, Ticketmaster.fr and also Live Nation to solve the problem...

I've sent on website U2.com and Ticketmaster.fr one message explaining everything and asking for help...

This is the Paris Tickets Order Number: 10052835

I also have called to U2.com and I've sent an email to Live Nation.

In the afternoon, I was able to speak with someone from ticketmaster.fr, and the guy told me not to worry, because the tickets were already canceled, and that I had to wait about 2 or 3 weeks to get the money back. however when I log on in Ticketmaster.fr I still can see the tickets as active...

I also spoke with ticketmaster by message on facebook, and they have said, that they were going to check and then they would give me a feedback...

I don't care about Paris.. My friend already bought the tickets that he wanted, but now, I'm concerned about one of my Amsterdam tickets... Can you please help me? I don't know what to do more... I'm trying everything I can... I did this on a genuine mistake. (I've tried to solve this issue after 10 minutes of my buying)

I used the Passcode from my other account (bono_vox_2000@hotmail.com)

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Luis Venâncio

Keep trying with the ticketing agency... it's possible that they are swamped right now, so you have no option but to keep trying with them...

For toronto july 7....Now to me i understood this to be as it says.. 2 ticket limit on presale and a 4 ticket limit on first day of onsale. i dont see what im misunderstanding here as it seems pretty clear and i did just buy 2 on presale and than 4 on first day of onsale. so on my ticketmaster sign in i can view my 3 purchases which totals 6 tickets..  none of them appear to have been cancelled but the girl on the phone said she was doing it and i was like what!!! no thats just cruel! she than back tracked and said she wasnt but the computer could and will cancel all or some at any time. i asked her when and she said they did not know the answer to that. i felt like crying and still do!

this is torture. I dont even know if i have any tickets now. it shows that i do.. but how do i know if any or all have been cancelled?  she could and would not tell me.

im livid to say the least..

at the end of this message i have screenshots of my 3 orders with ticket info all still there. if they were cancelling my tickets should that information no longer be there? i dont know as they said they would not be telling me when it was happening. i asked to speak to a supervisor and first she said she was the supervisor and after a while asked if i wanted her to TRY and get hersupervisor to call me but that there was nothing she could do.  i still have not got a call form her supervisor.  What am i supposed to do wait and wait or even go to the event and find out they have been cancelled.

Also when i look at my messages section on my moblie app i have two seperate emails thanking me for my purchase on the first two orders but noe for the third even though it has been processed?

To make things worse. half an hour later i got an email from them in response to one i had sent them about refunding my section 118 tickets as i want to keep my 4 gas. the response was that they do not do refunds but that if i want i can sell them!!! i thaught the whole point of the ticket limit was that there could be no resellers??!! there is no option to resell on ticketmaster.ca so what am i to do sell them illegally? is that what they mean?  i have also put a screen shot this at the end. in my questions to them i clearly explained that i had purchased 6 tickets and wanted to refund on two. in this they did not have a ny issue and told me to enjoy the event??

Sorry about all of this Bigwave .. I PM'd you last night with my details.. Screenshots of orders and email.
