Bringing It Home (Irish Dates Now Announced)

Recommended Posts

latest update : http://www.u2.com/help

Q - When will presales for U2.com subscribers take place for the band’s November Irish shows?

A - Presales for the Dublin and Belfast shows take place from Thursday September 10th (10am) until Fri Sep 11th (12noon) for subscribers in Ireland (Republic of and NI); and on Friday Sep 11 (12noon until 5pm) for other qualifying U2.com subscribers, while ticket supplies last. All times are local venue time.

Just wondering if you can tell me if there will be internet or postal address restrictions on the Ireland presales. I'm from Ireland but am in Amsterdam for a few days so hopefully trying to buy from here wont be a problem!

Hey Bigwave,

How do I know which presale I qualify for? I know this was probably answered back when the original tour dates where announced but I can't remember at all. Thanks for any info / help

I'm supposed to go and sleep now these dates have been announced-

1/ I have an unused presale code, but I'm no longer a paid subscriber so I don't know if I will get a new code  :o

2/ I saved up the money for tickets on a prepaid credit card at the beginning of the year, and 2 weeks ago finally succumbed, having heard nothing, and spent the money

3/ I live in Belfast and am in the process of selling up and moving to Tipperary- so I don't know if I'm going to be living nearer Belfast or Dublin in November

so all in all - a bit of a rollercoaster ride for me this week- wish me luck!!

(I hope the kids don't mind having beans on toast for the next week)

Is there anyone else in the same boat as me regarding number 1????

Yup, I'm in the same situation. Hit http://www.u2.com/helpand go to the 'Pre Sale and Code Info' section'; it should answer all your questions but anyone who hasn't previously used their presale code will be able to use them for the Irish dates. First thing I did when my code came through was save it.

These are the key points, I think.

Q - How do I gain access to the U2.com Tour Ticket pre-sale?

A - To gain access to the U2.com Tour Ticket presale you will need your unique and personal Pre-sale Access code that has been allocated to you as an eligible current Subscriber of U2.com. You will be notified of how and when to access the pre-sale ticketing pages via the U2.com Tour page and by email. The pre-sale ticketing links FOR EACH CONCERT will also be available via the Tour page of U2.com once the pre-sale for that concert has started.

Q - If I don't use my pre-sale ticketing access code in presales for shows announced on December 3rd, will the code still be valid for use if/when other dates are announced - such as the Dublin shows, details of which are still to be revealed ?

A - Yes. Your un-used pre-sale ticketing access code will be valid to use if further shows are announced.

We received codes because we were "eligible current" subscribers at the time the codes were sent out.

There's more under the link.

That's great, I still have my code safe and sound :)

Will i get another code?

Also, i'm in the UK, will the tickets go on sale on TM UK?

Stressing out about this!

Sorry Craig, but I don't think you will.  The 'Help' page says that if you've already used your code for another date in 2015, that's it; you can only use your code once in any tour year. That means that, even if you re-subscribe in 2015, you still won't be able to use the new code that you'd receive, for a 2015 date. You'd have to wait for one of the 2016 dates.

Q - New pre-sales have been announced but I have used my pre-sale code to buy tickets already. If I renew my U2.com subscription early, will I get a new pre-sale code to use against these new shows.

A - No, subscribers get one code to use with their annual subscription in an annual ticket selling cycle. For example, if you've already purchased tickets in a pre-sale for 2015 Tour dates, you will not be able to use a presale code to buy tickets if further dates were to be announced.

Bigwave, is that true? I have to renew my subscription in October. If I will get a new presale code that CAN BE USED for the Dublin-shows, I will renew already this week. If I will get a NEW code that won't be useful in 2015 for the Dublin-shows, I will wait till the new subscibers-gift is announced, otherwise I will have the same gift as last year, and still no useful code for Dublin.

So can one of the mods give a confirmation if renewing our subscription, will give us a useful code? Thanks!  :)

Lobmans, no you won't get a new code if you re-subscribe early. Actually, it's only 1 presale code per tour cycle. So even if your subscription was expiring today, re-subscribing today wouldn't get you another code for this tour cycle. This happened to me early in the year. I used my code during the initial sale, back in December. When my subscription was up for renewal in early January I asked the u2.com reps if I'd get another code with my subscription (as extra London shows were going on sale). They said no.

A bit of a bummer. But fair enough, otherwise I would have had 2 bites of the cherry, just because I was up for renewal at the right time.

Ok sounds like that decision made sense - first and foremost is a show for the Irish who haven't been around the world following them.

From what I'm understanding then, you'd not only need to live in Ireland but also have a valid code.

I wonder how many tickets will go in presale then

Will the info email contain pre-sales codes? When should we expect the email in our inboxes?? Fingers crossed for ticket success!! Thanks for your help!

I would like to double check something about the following statement: "Tickets for the Irish shows -- will be limited to 2 per purchaser." Does that mean two tickets per gig, per venue or overall Irish gigs?

I've used my pre-sale code so the chances of me getting more than two tickets (or I suppose, getting any tickets) in the general sale are very slim but just in case a miracle might happen, could I for example try to get tickets for both of the Belfast gigs and then one of the Dublin ones, making it three in total?

During the recent presales we had two type of presale codes, longer and recent memberships. With a longer membership I coupe nu tickets a bit earlier. Will this be the same for the Dublin dates?

My guess is it will go on billing address and reject when you try to buy them if you are a non-Irish resident.

more news when emails go out before tomorrow by all accounts, (as updated http://www.u2.com/helppage shows) this is what we know to date :

A - Yes. Your un-used pre-sale ticketing access code will be valid to use if further shows are announced.

And from the signup page for new subscriptions shows that the Ireland shows presages are only available to those who subscribed before the recent announcement :

good question - should apply to your your registered address on U2.com, but if you find yourself blocked due to being away from Ireland, a proxy server (google it if you are unfamiliar with the term) will be your best friend.

Hi thanks a lot for the update finding it difficult to find any info and nerves are shot to pieces ref getting tickets! I've been holding out for Belfast as I've had such a good feeling Bono and the lads would want to play Belfast this tour, I have just one question I am hoping someone can kindly help me with

Can you use your pre-sale code to buy one ticket for one date and then another ticket for. 2nd date? I know you can only buy 2 tickets in total however can this be split over two dates or once you use the pre-sale code for the purchase of 1 ticket will it be void?

Thanks

When are the emails going out with presale codes for Dublin?  I'm a paid subscriber with no code yet - don't want to miss my chance - thanks.  So excited...

Me too Debbie - I can't sit still.

I'm a paid subscriber also and only realised today that I hadn't 'Verified' my e-mail address, having paid the subscription previously.

I'm hoping that the presale emails haven't been sent out already and mine wasn't verified/active!

as far as I know you can only use the code once, so 2 seperate dates would not be feasible unless you knew someone else who wanted similar and you's could buy tix and swap one

You won't be able to swap if you buy GA (don't know about seats) - GA is paperless and whole party must enter together.

in the past, that has differed on a country by country basis, some will need to see what is applicable when we get the full info (soon I expect)
