Red Zone Details

I just saw U2 in Chicago.  I bought "best available" tickets using the Wires presale code at the instant Wires tickets were available.  I ended up with $300/ticket tickets far from the stage.  A good chunk of the show they performed without broadcasting videos of themselves on the big screens.  I could see nothing.  I have another Wires presale code and am planning on seeing the show in Indianapolis.  Is there any good way to buy red zone tickets or any tickets that will allow me to see the band when they are not on the video screen?  I certainly don't mind the video but was bummed they weren't on the video screens for many of their songs.  This made things tough in the very large Soldier field venue.

Thank you for any advice.

Floor tickets, & get close to the b-(tree)-stage. Either normal GA, where you'd have to spend a long time in line if you want to be very close, or Red Zone, where you won't have to wait so long, but you'll have to fork out a lot of cash. All floor tickets are standing only.

Other option are the expensive seats. You'll never be as close as the people in GA or RZ, though you may have a better view than them at times. Just make sure you choose seats on Edge's side (stage right, floor left), so you're closer to the b-stage. Don't get the furthest sections around near the main stage, you won't be able to see the screen. Aim for seats close to the b-stage. Seats with views like those below. If you do try for seats, make sure you print out a copy of your venue's seat plan first, & refer to it during the purchase process. As you've found out "best available" seats are often not the best available, not all the good seats are offered during the presale. If you're unhappy with the location of the seats offered to you, chuck them & try again. Better seats may pop up later.

Wow Red Zone looks packed - I thought it was supposed to have more room in it than that.

Was this RB1 Section 3?

I'm like 75% sure that's my mom and I in the front right corner of your pic! I think...

I agree with everything you said, these were incredible seats, if I had been able to change anything at all I would have moved one section to the right to see the screen a little better (couldn't see much of the curve facing the opposite side), but this is definitely closer to the B-stage than the other side.

Going with a buddy to SD and we were lucky enough to score RZ, so will be cool to experience it in a new way. Needed the seats for my mom =)

i have Red Zone for Miami tomorrow but also bought regular tickets for friends on the same credit card. I assume I have to get them in first because of the credit card entry thing before I can go to the RZ check in. Does anyone have experience with this or advice?

You'll probably need to consult with the venue box office when you arrive.  They should be able to "untangle" you so that you can then enter independently.

I was in RZ in Pgh two deep from Rail near Joshua Tree top and didn't get there until 6:30 PM  I actually thought RZ in Pgh was 'relatively empty'.  There was plenty of space in the back half.  The photo is a bit misleading.

Thanks for the info. Red Zone at the RB seemed the opposite, it looked like a lot of people.

I've seen other shows that also seem to indicate that, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Yeah it ended up being pretty open in Philly.  Awesome show!   The video camera was a bit annoying being in the way for a good portion of the show though.

I think it's U2 team.

Ticketmaster sent me an email a month ago explaining that the address RedZone@U2JoshuaTreeTour.com will be the one sending an email the details a week before the show.
