MetLife Stadium NJ Floor Seating vs GA Standing Floor - Help ?

Recommended Posts

Maybe someone here can help me out?

I used my Red Hill presale code this morning to purchase tickets for NJ that are listed as $70 Floor Seating. My section is GA6, but apparently there are no seats for this show according to the venue. I needed a seat and I would not have chosen that option for Floor Seating if it wasn't there. It is still there as I type as if it is a separate thing from GA Standing Floor but according to MetLife it is not.

I don't know what to do. They are saying that can't switch my tickets to something with a seat. My friend is disabled and has used ADA type things in the past, but I saw there was a seat so figured it should be fine. My friend just needs a seat, but this 'Floor Seating' class of ticket does not come with a seat.

They said they can probably cancel my order if I call by tonight or tomorrow morning the latest. If I cancel they said that I would lose my presale code because it can only be used once. If I cancel then I wasted my presale code and membership.

This is upsetting. It's their mistake and its very misleading. They should be able to do something for me, but no luck. I can cancel and then try for the venue presale tomorrow, but again, I wasted my code.

I wonder if the fan club can help me somehow and generate me a new code? I know it's late in the game now but I was at work and couldn't deal with this much more than I already had until now.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've spoken to Ticketmaster and Metlife Stadium. Thanks.

If you speak to Ticketmaster and / or stadium and ask for Accesibilty access for your friend with a disability they must provide it, let us know what they say.

Thanks, I'll let you know. I'm going to call the ADA number they gave me this afternoon. I didn't call that one first because it was to purchase tickets I think, and I already have tickets. I'll try it now anyway and see.

Edit: Looks like I was speaking to the ADA person earlier... She wasn't really very helpful. She said she couldn't exchange the seats. I don't know if it's because it's a presale or what, but you'd think it would be easier for them to exchange now with more seats available to them. The only option she was giving me was canceling my order and trying again on another presale or general on sale... and basically saying that I cannot use my Red Hill presale code again. So I wasted it unless they can exchange my seats. It's weird because on their website it sounds like they can exchange seats for you... She just made it sound like it wouldn't be possible because it would sell out. It was just very strange. It's not sold out now. And it's their mistake for having that option listed in the first place. I won't be the only one thinking that there will be some seating on the floor if they list it as an option...

It's after business hours now so I'm out of luck tonight anyway.  If you have any other suggestions I'm all ears. :)

I'd try the venue in the morning or email tonight as suggested above.  While it's certainly not ideal waiting 5+ months, I do know MetLife is fairly accommodating to patrons on accessibility issues on the day of the show.  http://www.metlifestadium.com/guest-services/contact-us

Thanks for sharing your experience with MetLife. They were not being very helpful over the phone, but tomorrow is a new day. Maybe I'll try emailing tonight too. I also tried ticketmaster again and they said they would work with me once the general on sale happens and exchange the tickets for ADA ones... even split up the order if we wanted. I might still try to do that during the venue presale if I don't have luck through the venue earlier in the morning.

Just wanted to let you guys know what I ended up doing. I had spoken to someone at MetLife and they were going to try to exchange my seats, but they never called me back. I assume maybe they got locked out of their system once all the presales were over, I don't know. Through email MetLife said they would help us out with accessible seating once we got to the stadium. The lady on the phone seemed to think that it might be difficult the day of because the event was going to sell out.

I also spoke to Ticketmaster who said they could exchange my seats once the general on sale happened. Well that's what I ended up doing. I called them and the man on the phone said that we'd have better luck with regular seats once they went on sale in a couple of minutes, rather than ADA seats since there were fewer of those. So once they went on sale he had some in Section 312. I let go of the GA seats I had (painful to do) and got the once in 312 row 25 because those have seats.

I'm still pretty bummed because I think I probably could have done better during the Red Hill presale if I hadn't seen the "Floor Seating" option that was up there at the time. So I guess I wasted my code. I wonder if I could get another code (or reactivate it) since I didn't actually use those seats from the presale and had to wait for the general on sale? I'm asking in case more shows get added in my vicinity...

Just keep in mind that some of the GA labeling can be misleading via Ticketmaster or the venue sites, main thing to keep in mind that GA for U2 is always standing only....I've seen every tour since Elevation, and I have never seen any seats on the floor for GA during any of U2's shows.

Right, but that option called "Floor Seating" should not have been there. This isn't just a mislead with numbering of GA or something. This was an extra clickable button.

I've been to every U2 show since Pop and I know it's usually standing. However, it's very possible that if someone sees that option listed there then one will think that there is something different about this show. For all I knew this was some throwback to the Joshua Tree tour that I didn't know about. For others it could be their first tour experience and they might not know that the tours have been Standing only on the floor. It should not have been an option, IMO. The woman at MetLife tried to give me that excuse too, like "Oh well no seating for U2," like duh as if I should know this. Well I do and I don't. Once I saw that option there I think many people would assume that they had Floor seats. I mean, it was a literal extra radio button that was clickable and listed a price. I have screen grabs. It took them over a day to remove it. Also, what I clicked on did not match what I got in the email. That's where I grew suspicious, so I called. I think they used old cold from another concert that had floor seating. When I called Fan Support yesterday the guy made it sound like there were a few people needing to switch seats for this reason.

OH well, whatever happened, happened, I guess. It's just a bummer.

Lots of concerts call GA floors with no seats "Floor Seating." No clue why, but certainly not unique...

Except that it had two different options. One for GA Standing and one for Floor Seating.  It actually differentiated between Standing and Seating, with two different options you could select. That's problematic, IMO. It gives the impression that there are two different sections. I've been going to concerts and using ticketmaster for 20 years too so it can't be because I'm inexperienced or something. I have actually sat on the floor in a seat at the precursor to this stadium, which was Giants Stadium. Of course, most of the time I've stood in GA shows on the floor. Listing it that way though was an unfortunate mistake. What's funny is that now with the new map and everything on the ticketmaster site for that date it says 'no seat' for GA. Others must have complained, and not just me. What's done is done, and someone was able to use my GA seats since they probably got released back into the pool. I will always wonder though if I could have gotten better seats from the presale for the same price other than way up in almost the last row of the third level. Still, I'm happy that I have tickets at all and I'm excited to see them again. :)
