I had to close my eyes, in case I might see something, to read your comment.  Are people going to meet up somewhere before the show in Chicago?  Would you pm me?  I'd like to meet at least one fan off U2.com.  We could just say a quick hi in the venue or there are some nice places close to the venue.  One can walk to an fro or they have shuttle buses.  Let me know.  I looked and can't find anything for a pre-show gathering for Chicago.  The place I usually go is called the Park Tavern.  No pressure intended.  It would be nice to meet others.  It will be magical.  I still have goosebumps from seeing Bono with the megaphone in front of my country's flag AND Trump was outted for paying his lawyer to pay the porn star with whom he did not have an affair and he had nothing to do with any porn star getting paid.  I love it.  The timing was perfect.  She has his cajones in a vice grip and her lawyer is much smarter than his.  It makes Bono's megaphone even more awesome.  I can't wait.  Let me know if you'd like to say hi and anyone else who reads this as well.  I looked and could find nothing about gatherings.  I'm going both nights.

I will send you an PM and go with my friend from Cincinnati. We travel there by car and would be nice meeting you and others of U2.COM

The new US tour t-shirt with Bonos Megaphone is so cool. I hope too be there early grab one with Chicago printed on..

I say nothing about Trump and listen to my friends quote. - DT is more complex than he comes across.

Hope to see you there. ?

Man, last night's looked like it was incredible! Can't wait for October now! Just praying they keep those tracks (many will probably know which ones I'm referring to) and add The Little Things...that song is divine.

That new intro to Pride is fierce. Love it.

Loving the new set list. A brave but correct decision to drop all JT tracks. Would love to hear more tracks from SOE:Book of your Heart, Ordinary Love, Summer of Love,  or Red Flag Day plus The Unforgettable Fire and rotating a few choice album tracks across the set list from show to show: Fire, Like a song, Surrender, Wire, Indian Summer Sky,  Always Crashing, Mofo ( anything from pop or zooropa would be fab). Have they ever played A man and a woman live? Absolutely over the moon they’ve finally added Acrobat. Roll on Manchester.

---spoiler alert----

I broke down and briefly looked at the set list.  It was impossible not to do it.  I'm hoping a couple things change.  I want The Little Things and Landlady.  Red Flag Day would be great.  They could take away The Ocean and Hold Me Thrill Me.  We had those not real long ago, tour wise.  I wish they'd do Gone instead of Staring At The Sun.  I'm sure it's all awesome.  I was stunned they did not do Streets or The Little Things.  Very interesting.  That was the most eclectic U2 set list I've encountered.  It looked amazing.

*Spoilers alert*

I also read the set list. And listened to a little bit being streamed on the night of.  There's just no way I will keep it a surprise for myself for 50 days, until the Boston shows!  Anyway. I'm just so surprised that it's so SOI heavy. I get it that the albums are in conversation with each other, but, hey, U2, we LOVE SOE!!! I'd love more of it! Red Flag Day please! Summer of Love! Little Things! Showman!  That said, I love love love the opener and closer. Perfect choices.  And I love that a song from Pop is on it!  You'd prefer Gone, Manolive -- I'd say I would prefer Do You Feel Loved or Please if I got to choose anything off Pop. But either way I'm so happy they played anything from it!

I bet more from SOE will be played as the tour goes on. I love the setlist they have come up with for now. Yes, there are some songs, both past and present, I'd like to hear, but something unique like this setlist I'm really pleased with. (Holy sh!t - live "Acrobat"!  )

"Do You Feel Loved" was a song they tried to do at the beginning of the PopMart tour, but they were never satisfied with how it came off - I think it was only played for 2 or 3 shows. I love it on POP, but I imagine it would be difficult to pull off live (like Mofo would be hard to do live).

In honor of HMTMKMKM, I'm going to use the new emoji here: :MacphistoSignal:

Please

That would be my first choice from Pop.  I did not think there was any way we'd get it but hoped.  Once I saw Staring I thought the inevitable other one would be Gone as it's the one I've most noticed them do after the Popmart tour.  I love Please.  I love the video.  It's one of my favorite U2 songs ever.  I concur.  I'd take Please over Gone too.  So many songs so little time....

I love this song live.  We had it not that long ago so I chose it because it's so hard to choose one to do without!   Love the emoji.   I love the video for HMTMKMKM.  It's so cool.   Yow.  I'm so excited.   woo hoo

sweet idea to put up a spoiler alert, JCF.  I went back and did the same for mine after I saw you did it.
That is very thoughtful.  The part of me that wasn't going to look at the set list thanks you!

You're welcome! It is done on some other sites; I didn't come up with the idea!  I did manage to keep all the video graphics for JT tour last summer a surprise for myself and I'm glad I did -- they were so beautiful and had such a deep emotional impact. But there's no way I'll keep away from the set lists.  But I truly get why folks do.  I think I might have to fly out for the opening show of the next tour, wherever it is! Just the thrill of not knowing what they are going to play..

I've been listening to SOE using Itunes a bit of the time.  I added the deluxe version as well as the cd I got for buying a ticket.  So, I listen to the non deluxe version and then Love Is All We Have Left starts again as the deluxe version follows.  I've ended up listening to the whole thing twice quite a few times now.  I think, 'I should turn this off', and do not because I can not.  I'm back to listening to it.  Today is the first full listen in a while.  I'm listening to Love Is All on the deluxe version and Lights of Home just started so a double listen it shall be yet again.   It works.  Listening to The Little Things and letting the album finish and go into Love Is All from the deluxe version works too.  That's happened quite a few times now.    Now it's You're The Best Thing....

Adam is especially awesome on this album.   I cannot wait to hear that bass.   It's fuzzy this time around.

I bought the deluxe edition for myself, and the two regular editions (which I received for buying tickets) I am using differently: one I have unwrapped and am playing exclusively in my car (the deluxe version stays in the house); the other will let me know where it would like its new home when it is time. I will know when it knows - U2 music has that special magic.

I love doing that.  Special things have their own way of choosing where/to whom they should go.  I've done it with many things...or is it many things have done it with/through me?   Either way, it's all good.

I got my ticket for the second night of Chicago.  I have not seen many GAs released.  I was a bit worried about my head/vision going screwy during the rush of GA.  I'll do that for The Head and the Heart in Minneapolis on May 30.  Anyhow, I am 7 rows away from The Edge-to the side.  I have a perfect view of this left and right hand, which I love.  My ticket cost me $106. plus service fees of $22 for a total of $128.  I hemmed and hawed all day about it.  Last night, about, midnight, I thought, 'You dummy.  You can be 7 rows from The Edge at a third of the price and you are pondering it.  Buy the ticket.' and I did.  I was so excited I could not sleep until 5:30 this morning.  I listened to music all night long.   wooo hooooooooo!  2 nights in a row!  People look at me when my head hurts and feel sorry for me yet I think I'm as lucky and blessed as it gets.  I'm psyched.

PLEASE play The Little Things in Chicago.

The tour so far has been incredible and SOE is definitely in my top favourite U2 albums of all time, too. It’s really grown on me as a whole. There are only a couple songs that I can take or leave, it’s a strong album.

If they dont play The Little things I think have a short live version of it from Croke Park and last summers Joshua Tree Concert.

Not many recorded that song I think cause had GA ticket and did not see many phones up. Was more a suprise but could have been wrong about 80000 in the crowd. ?

Was a beautiful end of a great night in Dublin.

The Little things was the final song.

I'm holding out hope for The Little Things to be added. It was amazing at Twickenham last summer but it still sounded kinda "in-development". I'd love to hear them do a version similar to the album version (with Edge's more subtle guitar work throughout the song rather than just at the end).

I've been watching their live release of The Little Things on Youtube.  It's not the concert one.  It's the live one where they are inside a house or studio or something.  Bono sounds great as do all of them.  Bono sounds like he is in such good voice.  How many bands could do this?  Pearl Jam is the first that comes to mind but not many.  Add the Little Things....PLEASE.  We love it.

I agree with you and I dont know how many times U2 has finished a concert with a song that is not among their more popular closers.

Really like they choose these type of songs more and they maybe not are for the big stadiums.

It's a beautiful little song.

With his voice also being so good on the Innoncence tour I really look forward to SOE

I agree and I cant stop listning too it.

That has only happen once and with the Joshua Tree.

Before starting to pack my bags for Chicago I have too quote your post of how good this album is and you mention the tour being incredible, I believe you that its possible after the Joshua Tree Tour . ?

Today I read an old interview with Bono in a Q Magazine.

The year was 2011 and his answer like seen today is interesting with the Intimate SOE album.

Q -  "You've often said U2 to be the biggest band in the world.. Making interesting and challenging music might be at odds with that?"

Bono - "Being a big band.. The big music.. Thats what we do. I think what you are saying is: can you make the small music for the small speakers? "

Yes they can and Now I can pick the lyrics from almost any song on SOE and have this experience, but I start with "Summer of Love"

- the winter doèsent want you, it haunts you, summer  serenadings a long way for this frozen place, your face

- our teacher, our preacher, it's nature and like flowers growing in a bomb crater, from nothing, a rose, it grows.

- I've been thinking of the west coast.

Then it is the same thing with the lyrics of the song "13 There is a light" that fill my small speakers but this time with a spiritual feeling.

- If there is a light you cańt always see, if there is a world we alwayś cant be, if there is a dark that we shouldnt doubt and there is a light, dont let it go out.

It is also a beautiful message for big arenas by reaching out to as many people as possible.. But also for the small speakers and could this  be something  they go later for smaller venues? , I would love that change and look forward so much to hear the SOE songs live on this tour.

They even capture the American Dream diffrently I think here than with the Joshua Tree but I start to like this one even more. I have to share a lyric from the Joshua Tree album and  it stand out to be even more important in 2018, from the song “In Gods Country” but I like they dont have songs from it.

"Dream beneath a desert sky / The rivers run but soon run dry / We need new dreams tonight,"

Then finally listning to the song “Love is all we have left”. It capture the feeling I got from the end song The Little Things on the Joshua Tree tour.

Just my little thoughts on this great SOE album.

Absolute Fantastic U2

I agree.  They sound great.  Bono's voice sounds incredible.  I think they did a few songs in that setting but cannot find out what it's called so I can watch the others.  I really hope they put The Little Things into the permanent set list.  Thanks and you are welcome.

Well spoken, Njord69...imho.   I think that is my favorite line off the album.  It's very simple yet very profound.  It's metaphorical yet literal.   I love it.

My brother has a trained voice and sings, along with his wife.  He finally went with me to see U2 for SOI.  I'd been trying to get him to go for decades.  After the show he said, "How can he sing like that and stay in such good voice while touring?".  I just smiled.  (I have no idea how. I had a wonderfully happy  told you so for decades moment I shared only with myself.)

I have another copy of SOE arriving as I bought my ticket for the second night of Chicago.  I am going to gift it to someone.  I doubt it will be the deluxe version.  Maybe?  ha.  I'm streaming the deluxe right now.  I'm spending way too much money on concerts.  They are what keep me going. I especially need them right now.  I thought I should sell the cd. It's U2 and I don't want to be making money off buying a ticket even if the ticket agency bastards are screwing me in the process of purchasing said ticket.  It's U2.  I found it ironically humorous.  I would gift it no matter who it was .Ten bucks is ten bucks.  I can buy a bottle of water at the gig and have a buck left over for laundry.   haha
