I’m sure this has already been said but WE GOT RED FLAG DAY finally. I’ve seen four of seven shows on the tour and they played at the three I hadn’t seen up to this point  It sounded so good - stoked. I have no voice left.

Oh, and I finally caught pages falling from the ceiling tonight!

Just home from the first show in LA and wow... what a dissapointment. Let me first say this was my 41st U2 show since 1985 so I am no band wagon fan. But the amount of Anti-trump references, "we know better than you" and other patronizing rhetoric from Bono was sickening. One particular video display inferred that Trump supporters were KKK members. Really Bono? It must be so easy to pontificate from high above on a platform of stardom and wealth. Did you happen to notice the empty seats and HUGE open space on the GA floor area Bono? Maybe you should talk less and sing more. I want to continue to support the band I love but for God's sake..don't add to the division in this country set in motion by our radical 44th president.

The songs from Experience album are those ones I have preferred since the first listening, especially Lights of Home, I would add Book of your heart! Great set list!

My first show was also 1985, at the Worcester Centrum.  I have attended every tour since then.

U2 have ALWAYS been political, and if you don't like that, this is probably not the right band for you.  I am not quite sure how you managed to attend 41 shows and not pick up on this.

I just got back from the LA show and you are wrong.  It was sold out.  There is extra space at the Forum on the GA floor for safety, but all tickets were sold.  Tickets for tomorrow's show are $500 on stubhub for the floor, only 9 seats left.

So you are inaccurate, my friend.

You also should probably take note that most Americans disapprove of Trump.  Especially in cities like Los Angeles.  That does not mean you aren't entitled to your opinion.  But, as Bono said tonight, maybe try respecting the opinions of others and "if you can't keep an open heart, keep an open mind."

Perhaps most importantly, it was a fantastic show.  U2 have still got it.

The KKK on the screen are actual Trump supporting KKK members.  That doesn’t imply that all Trump supporters are KKK, but you should certainly pause for a deep think about why the man you put in office refused to denounce Nazis and the Klan in Charlottesville.  I don’t think you realize how over the line that was.  Bono also said “There is no them, there’s only us.”  Racism and violence is part of us as Americans and as humans and rather than complain about musicians bringing it up, it would be better to do think about it, examine it and do something about it.

approx. +- around 8.35-ish, give or take...

about the parking... no idea.

Parking a complete disaster!!! Get there early. The Lots cannot accommodate the capacity due to construction, and you will have to park miles away in INGLEHOOD and walk it if u don't.  Poor venue selection by U2!!!!  To boot, They ran out of GA floor wristbands at the gate, so I was let in without one, only to be escorted off the floor during the concert because i wasn't wearing a wristband??? The Forum is currently a joke of a venue.  What's next, the Olympic???

If it helps anyone for tonight, I arrived at 6:30/6:45 last night and the lot was already getting full. If it’s possible, I’d arrive early to avoid frustration this evening.

Band went on around 8:35/8:40.

Yeah, not all 45 supporters are KKK members, but all KKK members are certainly 45 supporters. That speaks volumes. Bono has really been pretty restrained with his comments on the current disgrace. I would love to hear him speak for an hour or so about how he really feels. And he would undoubtedly try to find some positive things to say, which is difficult.

Inglehood - tacky

Re: venue selection: Clearly you missed when they played FIVE nights at the Forum on the i+e tour a short 2-ish years ago. The Forum is an awesome venue post-renovation, especially where sound is concerned.

Re: wristbands: they’ve had branded bands for GA in at least the last three tours including the shows I’ve seen on this tour in other cities. My guess - something went wrong or a delivery didn’t make it and the Forum had to provide bands in a pinch without notice. Just a guess but I thought it strange that all of a sudden there weren’t NORTH SIDE/SOUTH SIDE U2 wristbands when we arrived last night.

Thank you, bosawx.

Bono is a great entertainer, but extremely naive.

Why no videos of the fires and broken glass on the night of the election? Why no videos of Trump supporters being attacked during the campaign? They exist.

The leftist politics are unavoidable and as someone who has also seen every tour since 1985, I know exactly how you feel.

Pandering to women and insulting those who are not leftists is feeble.

It is show business, however, and the show is still great. I suggest Bono discover Dennis Prager.

The absolute fun that is a U2 show can't be spoiled for me, even by the current mean-spirited jabs at anyone who is not on the left.

Don't let the foolishness grind you down.  It remains an excellent show.

You’re right up there with that guy who dragged his girlfriend out by her hair in Chicago because they flashed a photo of Michelle Obama during Ultraviolet! Anyone who tolerates the constant bile spewed by Tromp is either delusional or a bigot. Your choice.

The political comments and commentary on the bands' position is always a fascinating read for me. Seeing the opening of the tour in Tulsa and St. Louis where judging by the TRUMP bumper sticker count in those cities alone vs. Los Angeles, 45 supporters appeared to be far higher in those cities but there was a lot less complaining here about their visuals and/or what he says during the show. Interesting to say the least. I'm not here to change anyone's mind or convince anyone of anything but I do think the band is expressing their views as they always have and really, pointing out that no matter who you support the KKFreakinK marching the streets in the US proudly once again is madness. It's not their fault these maniacs wore MAGA hats and support 45.

In terms of pandering to women, I can't with those comments. He has women in his life that he loves and he realizes the struggle of women the world over (and no, I'm not about to sit here and list example after example out for anyone) and the band  supports those of all sexes through both the ONE Campaign and (RED). https://www.one.org/us/about/

I've yet to see the show.  I've seen and read and already know enough to realize that if you are a Trump supporter-you are not going to like this show.  If are going to be offended by anti-Trump rhetoric then you should know this show is going to both rub you the wrong way and get under your skin.  Trump has to go or the whole world is going to suffer.  If you don't like that stance then you made a mistake going to this show.  You've every right to your opinion.  You told us to deal with Trump because he won.  Okay.  Perhaps Trump supporters need to deal with the fact that U2 does not like what Trump is doing. Nobody is forced to listen or attend if they do not like it.  If a person has seen shows and listened to the music, it should come as no surprise that last night's show was political...unless that person's head is buried in the sand. (I'm not saying anyone in particular has his or her head buried in the sand.)

As far as the KKK thing-That's been present since the GOOYOW video.  I was taken aback at first. I'm dead set against Trump. I despise that man and everything he stands for, which is pretty much his own self and those who serve his agenda.  I was still taken aback by the use of the KKK imagery.  I took that symbolism and put it into the context of an artistic statement made by individuals who disagree with what is happening.  It seems perfectly valid to me.  I find no offense in it.  I've looked at it from all sides.  U2 has every right to do as they please.  I see no offense to America in how they are doing it.

That right to do and say as we please-freedom-is what not only makes America great....it is what makes the free world great.  America is not special and it's time we started to realize it on an international scale.

If you're pro Trump and such a snowflake that you can't take some criticism then give your tickets to someone else.  U2 has been VERY political for a really long time.  And like it or not this idiot who's in office now goes counter to everything I've seen the band stand for over the years.  So they're taking some shots, good on them.  I'd be more upset if they pandered to the Trump fanboys by NOT having something to say.  Stick to your principles guys!

I'm a total snowflake at times and I'm anti-Trump.  If we don't find middle ground we're never going to progress.  America was built on checks and balances.  Each side has different views and input to bring to the table.  Being a snowflake has nothing to do with it!  😶

Feel free to continue the political conversations over in the General Folder, but let's bring this thread back around to what it was meant for, the shows/music last night and tonight.
