  1. Past hour
  2. Just wondering if anyone can help with a couple of things I'm curious about. Firstly, the origin of this quote: http://twitter.com/U2start/status/1133971297980080128 ("I'd describe him as tall, slim, handsome, ludicrous IQ and funny with it. That's what I always tell him. Basically, he's a misunderstood genius, don't you think?" - MacPhisto when asked for his thoughts on Bono) It doesn't seem to exist outside of U2start's database, and nobody there could tell me where they got it from. Surely someone must recognise it?! I also remain intrigued by this: http://twitter.com/atu2comSherry/status/1013584305149366274 ("Nice to see the MacPhisto phone from rehearsals made its way on tour".) The Instagram photo seems to be gone now, but it was a red telephone in the backstage area during the EI Tour. What's this about a "MacPhisto phone" being used in rehearsals? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else. Were they planning to include ZooTV-style phone calls at one point?
  3. yep philo in sydney....... but heading to optus stadium in november from irlando as phil used to say
  4. Today
  5. In my enthusiasm, I forget to search. Thanks, paola. "It's not easy being a rock star these days." funny.
  6. I wonder if there will be one if not announced yet. Think they didn’t have an opener in Japan in 2006 even though other countries did.
  7. We addressed the many troubles Europeans, and in particular Germans, have to go through to get the subscriber's gifts in detail in the following thread (and showed how to easily solve this issue through correct labelling): Unfortunaly, someone decided to archive it, though nothing has been solved yet and it seems that the packages will AGAIN be sent from the US (and from experience, I'd say that the will AGAIN be labelled incorrectly and cost us fans in Germany a lot of effort, time and money to retrieve from the customs offices) John (@bigwave) - you said that our issues were going to be sent to LN in February. Has any response surfaced since then? Looking forward to your response (this is Sabine from Hamburg )
  8. ill be dropping into porterhouse for sure on route as im staying 10 minutes from pub
  9. Waiting for the songs of ascent....

  10. Has anyone issues in general getting the subscribers gift? We have issues in Germany because it's being kept by the customs (because it's declared as a "gift", and gifts are only allowed between private individuals, and not from a company). I wonder whethere the same problems are in other countries than in Germany?
  11. U2 in Mumbai .Great!!! A breath of freedom and love!!! I won’t be there but I appreciate that Bono and friends take their music in a spiritual and controversial country. Where nobody can "music" can but the one by U2. It can always tear down the walls and cross the heart of everybody!!!
  12. History will judge us for ababdoning them. It's unconscionable. It's also unforgiveable. I want all of us to see Trump sink and disapperar into his own muck and mire They admitted that the Ukraine phone call did involve quid pro quo-that is my favorite good thing today-more dominos are tumbling. . I want that bi#ch thrown out of office and put in jail. 😒 big deep breath....
  13. A bunch of good things today: Grocery shopping: $190-but after coupons and getting this much off for buying that-$89. A lady who works for the post office is getting me great coupons. Watching the total go down over a hundred dollars was a great thing. I found out that not only is Dawes' new album recorded and mixed-it's pretty much ready to go (After the European tour). They've now sold out Berlin, Cologne, London and Madrid. New album and tour before the current one has ended. 10 or 12 shows this year-looks like another batch for 2020. 😊 I didn't melt the whole cooking spoon when I turned on the wrong burner. It's still useable. I like that spoon. The bolognese sauce turned out very well. The depression of another headache cycle broke today. The pain is still severe, however, telling myself I'm not going to jump, which I'd never do, gets very tired very quickly. I hate it when I feel like a drama queen and the bright side of life does not matter-good riddance!!! I found out that Pete Yornn is coming to my city. GA tix are $30 and they are two for one,, which makes it $15 a piece. That;s a steal. He's a greaat songwriter. I've been wanting to see him for a very long time. November 17th-I get my wish. I didn't know he was coming. I'm going to buy the tix, tomorrow, at the box office, and avoid service fees. I love Pete Yorn's music. Huge surprise. It was a really good day.
  14. Three weeks and counting...

      xrayjets

      Bring it on !!!

  15. Is there a documentary on how they made the Vertigo video? All I can remember is that it was filmed in Spain.
  16. Somehow, I missed this. Many thanks. I see they ware on the roof. When was this done? Is it part of a larger set of songs? Edge's guitar sounds so raunchy. Adam sounds incredible too. (they all do) Love it.
  17. Yesterday
  18. So in RedHill town you saw the pints go down on Mich........glug glug!😉
  19. Last week
  20. 45, 184 - Night-time counting. I spent most of today making a playlist for the characters in my new story. Hopefully it'll help get me into the right mental space for writing about them
  21. Hmmm...guess I never made it to the highlight then. Did think the Harlequin Theatre was lovely. And enjoyed many a pint in The Feathers in Merstham, which was technically where we lived but still part of Redhill.
  22. Where is everybody meeting before the Fri/Sat shows? There is an Irish pub called Porterhouse that is about a 25 minute walk to stadium, not sure if anything is closer. Thoughts?
  23. the latest email I have is about the new released for October and November.
  24. I lived there for two years for my husband’s job. 💚 He moved over a month before me and the kids. When he told me where we had a place, I thought “it must be meant to be”. My good thing for the day....as it is early am, I’m just happy I woke up.
  25. 45, 183 - I think the jail sentences are ridiculous. It'll just make the Catalans even angrier - and more determined to break away. Spain may not like it, but they need to respect their autonomous regions. Of course, losing Barcelona would be a massive hit for the Spanish economy - which is probably why their government is terrified.
