OK - So today i got to go for my first ever pre-sale for the Singapore show. Due to location and circumstance, I had never been in a position to go through this process before, so having been a member of U2.com for years, the Singapore announcement was a dream come true. Having watched from the sidelines for a number of years, i had always thought the moderators did a fanstastic job, and felt a strong sense of community within Zootopia. Today, when things went a bit awry in the presales, I experienced first hand what I have watched for years and I am very grateful. The image below pretty much sums up the roller coaster from this morning and for me two things are very clear: 1. buying tickets for these concerts is in no way a neutral experience, and 2. The moderators annd community are just fantastc. What is also missing from the picture is "thankfullness" to the mods, and to the community who actively participate in helping others. This is literally off the chart.

Now that the pre-sales are (mostly) over, I thought it was high time to give a place to show our appreciation to our moderators. They volunteer their time to help us out, often at crazy times of the night. So to @Max Tsukino, @mich40& @bigwave a huge thanks for all your work helping us during the presales (when we were stressed !) We all owe you a drink when we see you 😊 See you on the road or here in zootopia during the tour soon

I saw U2 for the first time in October 1989 in Sydney on the love town tour. I was still at school, had just started to drive, and lining up for 3 hours at the Jolimont Centre in Canberra to get tickets also saw me get my first ever parking ticket. In those days (before mobile phones) my sister had no way of telling if I would be successful to get tickets for us, so she went for telephone sales and we ended up with four tickets, two of which we passed onto a friend and her brother. All four of us had a road trip to Sydney and stayed in a hotel near Ultimo (where the Entertainment centre is). It was my first night out in Sydney - the atmosphere was electric – U2 cover bands in pubs (which I couldn't enter because I was underage) – just incredible. Next time I saw U2 was when I was living in the UK with my wife in 2001, and managed to get tickets for Paris, and soon after in Birmingham. For Paris, we made a holiday out of it. Arrived on Bastille day, got absolutely drenched in a downpour, Salvador Dali museum, and so many other great memories. At the concert, we asked some fellow Aussies in front of us to take a pic (35 mm film!). They kept hesitating because another Aussie behind us was photobombing us. They asked him to stop because they didn't want to waste our film and he just said “Nope!”. So our pic at that concert has some bloke behind us with a huge grin on his face (see below). For Birmingham, we drove from Southampton in our “new” second hand car – which decided to stop suddenly on the way. We were just stuck. Again – no mobile phone, no one would stop to help us….we were just stuck (along with an Italian colleague from work – who was not very happy about the situation). Eventually the car started again and we made it to the show while the opening act was still playing. We never figured out what went wrong with the car. In 2005, I was living in NZ and managed to get tickets for the March 17, 2006 show in Auckland for the Vertigo tour. The show sold out so quickly – there was a news story showing people crying because they missed out – so, I considered myself very lucky. My wife and I had been living apart for 15 months while I started a new job and she was due to join me on March 1 2006 - so the concert was going to be our first trip away from Wellington. That was the leg that was postponed due to The Edge’s daughter being sick. We hung onto our tickets ready for the rescheduled shows, and when they were announced we were unable to attend as it was a little more than a week out from the expected arrival of our first child. So, we were able to get a refund on the ticket and of course our disappointment didn’t last long at such an exciting time of our lives. Since then we have never been at a situation that would have allowed us to easily seen the band. So when the Singapore announcements came there was no question that my wife and I would want tickets, and my daughter, whose arrival nearly 13 years ago prevented us seeing the rescheduled show in NZ, will also come along (and of course her younger brother). I used up all my four presale allotments for Nov 30th show, and I will happily be competing for the Dec 1st show in the public sales as I have every other time I have seen the band. If luck is with me, my wife and I will get an extra show. If not, we move on with yet more happy memories and another story to tell. This time my kids’ wide eyed faces will be in the mix and I just can’t wait.

Brendo 1704.. great story. Maybe the Aussie guy will recognise himself! That would be brilliant. Or should post it on the Australia page for the show.....’find the photobomb aussie’ 18 years later.....

The way it was solved was cancelling the tickets, then resetting the codes. I don't think you would want that.

And @xrayjets likes to jokingly harass us every presale and tour with that question....which, personally, I appreciate the comic relief.

I'm from America and have only bought tickets within America.. Many times, I've been able to get a great seat for a show if I buy a single seat. I usually get up front doing it. My friends do as well. Some times we are a few rows behind the other but we have great seats. I like going to one U2 show alone when there are multiple nights.. It's a completely different experience when I watch the show alone. IE Chicago first night I was alone. EI Chicago second night I was alone. Both were awesome with a unique perspective. FYI

That red back ground with them in front is iconic. It was fun to watch the mods help everyone-especially new and younger fans going to their first U2 show. It's cute and the cycle renews. Many thanks.

They are awesome. If I were a rich man-I'd give them alarm clocks made of gold. I can't but they have my respect.

Just some thoughts about Ticket Pick Ups at 7/11. I wandered into a random one the other day, and talked to the dude working there. You will need the Ticket Order Confirmation e-mail with your ticket number on it (about 15 digits). You can either print it out, before you go, or take your mobile device with it on there. (For example my confirmation e-mail was sent to my i-phone e-mail, so I will take the phone and show them the e-mail.) The staff enters your ticket information into the register and prints out the ticket(s) for you. They might get you to push a 'confirm' button on a screen. They will also give you a receipt to sign. And that's it. Simply say 'Ticket Pick up' and show the e-mail and you'll be fine. Don't forget to smile. The only small confusion I had with my dude at first was he thought I wanted to buy tickets at first. I recommend you take some I.D. with you (just in case) and maybe have the credit card with you...again just in case. Also maybe some small change in case there is a printing fee (maybe 300-400 Yen/ 3 or 4 bucks). Most staff will be able to understand simple English spoken a little slowly and clearly. The ticket confirmation e-mail also includes Japanese instructions for the Staff if they give you a WTF? look. but I don't think there will be any issues. this part of the e-mail: [STANDING FRONT/REAR, SS/S/A SEAT] Tickets must be picked up at a Seven-Eleven store in Japan prior to the show, and will not be issued at the venue. Tickets will be available for pick up from 20th November (Wed) from 10:00am. When picking up your ticket(s), you will be required to show your e-mail purchase confirmation to store staff. Please ensure you print this in advance or are able to access it on your mobile device. After the staff have confirmed the Ticket Number shown in your e-mail purchase, they will print your ticket(s). Make picking up the tickets a priority when you get into Tokyo. Don't leave it to the last minute. Don't lose them, they cannot be re-issued. I hope this is some help, it may be redundant as others may have already posted about it. Keep on Rockin' and Rolling.

Thanks for all of your time in responding to me! It looks like the vendor presale ending today is only for Japanese residents. Am I reading this correctly? So since I’m from the states, it says there will be the general sale for me. I’m wishing that I had done he Japan presale but it wasn’t even on my radar. I guess I thought there’d be 2 nights in Seoul since U2 has never played there and it’s the last stop of the tour. Maybe a second night will come if it sells out, which I’m still hoping for. I have 2 Presale tickets left using my code, and I’d love to use them. I got RZ for Seoul 1 and I remember that the venue has people line up by their ticket purchase number, so I’m trying to keep that in mind for Japan. I’m going to try for the general sale but am wary of what tickets might be left at this point. I don’t have a need to be on the rail, just trying to get in the door. In my dream world, someone from the fan club might have a spare GA or RZ ticket (or two) that I can buy. Crossing my fingers that the fan to fan thing might work out for me in the coming months. I’ve sold a few extra tickets that I’ve had over the years to fans so I’m hoping some good will might come my way this time. I’ve always sold my extras at face value, trying to keep in the spirit of the fan club. Again, thanks for your assistance and encouragement. If nothing else, I’m ecstatic to being in RZ in Seoul. I hope you have an amazing time in Japan!

I went to the cinema to see Toy Story 4. It's very enjoyable - despite the fact I haven't seen the second or third films. I only really went to see this one for Keanu Reeves's character - and he's hilarious. It certainly makes a change from his usual action roles. Although it made me feel old seeing parents going to see it with their children - I remember seeing the first one in the cinema when I was a kid!

In his response to the 2017 letter from a group of fans to the band regarding the E+I ticket sales process, Guy Oseary concluded that he would like to 'set up a mechanism so that every so often we can convene around a band-related subject'. Does anyone know if anything ever came of this?

I got a red zone ticket today. Just me - Mr Brunodog can go to raffles bar instead and have a Singapore sling and I’ll go on my own. Happy for it to be just us and the band too! Imagine that....

The location itself is beautiful. Great organization inside and very pleasant staff. You can pay for a premium parking spot in the lot just outside the venue, otherwise parking is free in fields just beyond. However it is worth noting that a premium spot close to the venue is a disadvantage when it's time to leave as you are now furtherst from the exit. The only issue we had was the traffic jam we encountered at the end of the night. All those cars trying to funnel onto a country backroad will do that. In retrospect it might have been wiser to simply kick back and listen to the radio for an hour until the hoard thinned out. But otherwise a hugely positive experience. It was my first time there and I would go back again without hesitation. On a side note: I was on the lawn and it was great value for money. The sound was crisp and there were screens to see close ups. A good time is pretty much guaranteed. Have fun and please let me know what your experience was.

Dave Matthews Band killed it last night in Bethal Woods, NY. It was my first time seeing them and I would definitely see them again. Another first on the 29th of this month when I'm seeing Phish in Camden, NJ.

1 ticket should be a breeze. the website puts you in a virtual queue though when the tickets launch. you just gotta keep your fingers crossed.

Just thinking out loud... they managed to reactivate the codes of those people who bought their tickets in the 'accidental' presale and had their purchase cancelled. Couldn't they do the same thing again?

Yes thank you Mods....you are the best, and have the patience of saints when getting asked the same question again...and again....and again.... (like how many tickets can I buy). I’m not sure about gold alarm clocks but I’d buy you a few pints.

Issuing new codes is not an option. Sorry. If there is an update about this, it will be posted... please keep checking the board.

Ok newest update on Singa ticket presale.. GA sold out and very few tickets available on SEATs as of 2 hours back... if all sells out tomorrow that mean we have a chance for a 2nd show right? do they really keep few tickets for general sale?

So excited for this. Used my Red Hill code to get 4 Seated $387 tickets for the first Auckland show. Great seats in Section 11. Then managed to score red zone tickets for the second Auckland show in the Live Nation sale. Cant wait. 145 looong days away!
