  1. 44588 - Counting down until this drone operator at Gatwick Airport does the honourable thing and turns himself into the police. I'm not currently due to fly anywhere but I have a friend who's affected. I feel for everyone at the airport, including staff who must be stressing out big time right now.

44541 - Not even Bono can talk sense into a Tory. Particularly not one as bloody-minded as May.

  3. I keep recognising links between tracks on SOI & SOE that I hadn't made before. It was only recently that I finally made the connection between California and Summer of Love. Just yesterday I also finally realised that Volcano and The Little Things are two sides of the same conversation.

Nice that U2 is giving a substantial gift for the subscribers. The last couple years have been very weak.

On another note, I'm surprised that TJT tour is not yet released on video. That would be perfect timing for this Xmas season and next year having the E+I video release too.

I hope we will see the complete concert for these last two tours.

They did film a few Joshua Tree shows, but they were holding back on releasing the video until after E&I was done and dusted. I do believe the rumour I've heard (and I should emphasise that it's only a rumour) was that TJT could be out in spring. Dunno when the E&I release will be out.

I voted for EI.   It's difficult, for me, to distinguish between IE and EI.  JT was like an intermission between the two. That is not meant to diminish TJT30 show.  IE and EI were like one long show spread out over a period of time.  My vote is for !E/EI.  When I choose-EI is my favorite U2 tour ever.  I'm not sure that would be true without IE.

In a way I feel like all the last three tours have been essential to each other. Had the band not done the full Joshua Tree tour and kept it to just a few shows as originally planned, they wouldn't have made the decision to remove all trace of the album from the EI setlist, which would've ultimately made it a different show. That said I feel like The Joshua Tree tour became part of the whole story rather than just an intermission - it was a big moment in the band's history and stands, in my opinion, as a major plot piece on the road from innocence to experience and back.

Ultimately I've come to the conclusion that the majority of voters are going for and gone with EI - but equally I have to acknowledge that without IE and TJT30, EI wouldn't have been the show it was.

I had wondered if they'd start back to touring sooner than people thought because they are in such good form right now.  They've always been great live. To me, they seem to have reached a new level. Why stop for a long period of time?  All the EI shows sounded so good; especially toward the end of the EI tour.  Stadium?   I had wondered if they would do EI in stadiums the way they took Vertigo from arenas in America to stadiums in Europe.  A twinge of envy still hits me when I see the :Vertigo: on those huge screens in Europe for that part of the Vertigo tour.  No way can I get to Australia or New Zealand but there's always these live threads.

From what the source says this tour wouldn't be part of the EI tour. That said I wouldn't be surprised if the setlist included a lot of Innocence/Joshua Tree/Experience material to give the Ozzies a taste of what they'd missed previously.
