    Anyone Receive the Email Today?

Wow! This is an absolute slap in the face. I have attended multiple shows on every tour since 1984. Been a fan club member almost since then and a subscriber to U2.com since it’s inception. Have used every ticket purchased in a presale for myself, gotten many tickets for friends, and in the event I end up with extras would sell them at face (or below) to fans on this or other boards (and my last five shows were all CC entry, so I had to be there in person). Now TM essentially tells me that my credentials do not qualify me for presale (after first telling me that I do!). Great ploy to funnel more tickets to their partners and resellers in the name of “fairness”. I certainly do not feel entitled to anything, but to not be given a fair shot (or I should say any shot)ale this whole process nothing more than a scam. Let me just bend over......

  5. I have an extra room at the Avatar Hotel the night of the U2 show. I booked two rooms thinking friends would want a room but turns out that is not the case so now I just need one of the rooms for myself.. This hotel is within walking distance of the stadium (which is a big deal, parking & transport can be a nightmare at Levi Stadium) and is actually a pretty nice property. This is a one night reservation 5/17 to 5/18 for $239 (plus tax) which is a lot lower than anything you will find anywhere in Santa Clara. Please reply or PM me if interested.

I think a lot of people are bring up a lot of good points. -Ticketmaster sucks (always have, always will) - They don't care about the fans, just the profits -Presale access entitles you only a chance to buy tickets before the general public -No promises were made that every type of ticket would be available during presage nor what quantities -Folks posting on these boards represent only a fraction of fans so just because nobody here got RZ (or GA) for a certain show doesn't mean that there weren't any -RZ in particular is very limited. Ticketmaster can sell thousands of tickets per minute. If RZ holds 500 and 20% of those are available in presage they feasibly could be gone within 10-15 seconds. -I have participated in other presales where only the worst seats were put up for sale. At least U2 seems to put a good cross section on seat locations and prices up in advance for the fans. I think almost everyone had an opportunity to get tickets, just perhaps not the tickets they wanted or hoped to get. -If you signed up for the fan club just to get presale access and didn't get tickets, too bad. I have done that for other bands in the past and got nothing. It is always a bit of a gamble and if you gamble you need to be prepared to lose -I am surprised by the sense of entitlement a lot of people. Neither U2 nor Ticketmaster owe you anything. -I have been both lucky and unlucky many times. I do whatever I can to improve my odds (fan club, multiples browsers, advance logins, etc.), but there is never a guarantee of success. I think this should be a great tour, nostalgic for many myself included (saw eight shows myself on the original JT tour). Unlike the smaller arena tours most everyone should be able to get a ticket (with the possible exception of Dublin, always the most difficult). Stop complaining and agonizing over the things you cannot control. Try to see the glass half full instead of half empty. Come show time, you will have forgotten this frustration and will have a fabulous time.

Red Zone price for California shows?

Pretty sure the $70 RZ thing is an error and no such tickets really exist (sort of defeats the purpose of the charity element). Believe they were only available as package at $350/ticket.
  8. Lucked out with Red Zone. Hope to see others there

I am pretty amazed that people are complaining because they got shut out of RZ. I went into this expecting zero and hoping for the best. I was hoping for Dublin but like almost everyone else I got shut out. Did get lucky for my local show in the US with RZ. I have known for years that Ticketmaster sucks and that the whole process is a crapshoot. You are not entitled to RZ or GA Field or a great reserved seat. You can improve your chances with fan club membership and it is frustrating when there are hiccups like today but in any case where demand exceeds supply people will get shut out. Just stop whining about it. Neither Ticketmaster nor U2 are going to give you any explanation or make it right, so stop wasting your energy.

Wow! That was easy. Got a pair of RZ for Santa Clara (San Francisco) figuring I had a better chance at getting two than four. Went back in and a couple of tries later got a second pair. Gonna be awesome!

For folks in North America who got RZ, did you select Red Zone Package or just Red Zone tickets? Per all the drop downs there appear to be multiple options but not sure if there are actually RZ tickets available for each. Any insight is appreciated as I will be trying for west coast shows in a couple hours.
  12. That video clip is great. Looks like there will be a pit / inner circle (heart, ellipse). I hope that is open to the general attendees and not just the high roller donors and VIP's. There needs to be good energy at the front of the stage. I plan on heading over to line up around 3PM or 4PM myself. Will be decked out in my green I&E tour shirt from Dublin . Hope to meet up with a few die hards. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Some nonseasonal rain this morning in SF. -davidj
  13. I am curious if anyone on this board is attending the Dreamfest show this week in San Francisco? I am attending the Dreamforce (Salesforce.com) conference which includes admittance to the show on Wednesday night. I am thankful that my company is footing the bill for the conference as $1,000+ for a concert only ticket is crazy. But I don't think any of my colleagues have the desire to line up early for a good spot near the stage and I am wondering if there will even by that many real fans at this show. Would be great to connect with anyone who might be there. I live in SF coincidentally quite close to this venue (Cow Palace). Paid a visit over the weekend to check out the setup. The show is outdoors behind the actual arena (show will also be streamed inside) and as of Saturday the stage was taking shape. See picture - I had to climb through a couple of fences and through a lot of brush to get this close!
  14. Have a pair (2 tickets) to sell for Dublin 3. Seats are Block J Row 37. Selling for face value of 396 EURO. Will need to meet in Central Dublin on Thursday evening to exchange money for tickets.
  15. If it is on your wife's credit card, you should be able to get in by using that card and having a copy of her ID and confirmation.
