Why are venue rules for GA lines not being enforced?

I was in GA for the second MetLife show. The venue did a great job. I got there around 11:30 in the morning and was given a numbered wristband, 151. From what I heard other people saying, somehow about 50 people got wristbands the night before when the first concert ended. Not sure how that happened. Don't know if that select group who starts their own line was around, but with the numbered wristbands I'm guessing they were stopped if they tried anything. But being the second night in a row might have also affected things. Anyway, we were told to line up at 1:30, then shortly past 2 everyone was lined up by the staff in number order. At 3 we went through the gates into a shaded area, again in numbered order. At 5 groups of 50 people were taken into the stadium, being lead by multiple staff holding a rope and leading us in so no one could run. I was at the front of the fourth group let in and got to the second row in between where Bono and Adam stand on the main stage. I think MetLife did a great job with their policies and organizing the GA, and I would definitely go there again if that's what they always do. And probably on the second night if there is one, again, I think that's why not that many people were there between 10-12. Even at 2 there was only about 300 people in line. Great job MetLife.
  5. I was thinking they'll play TJT and a few other songs but now with two hours they could play the same set they've been doing. It will be interesting to see if they do that or mix it up for the festival. I'm really going to try to stay up until 2 to find out, despite having work in the morning! I like the PopMart and MacPhisto costumes! Maybe this will inspire a little Zoo TV/Pop for tonight (I can dream).
  6. I don't see U2 on the live stream schedule at all, which is a little disappointing. Maybe they don't want to be streamed? Hopefully those Periscopers have our backs!

Let's talk about the set list/ Set List [merged]

I think Streets makes a great opener. The question now is what else will they play, because while I would still enjoy the show, I wouldn't be super happy spending so much just to get however long of the opening act and then maybe an hour of U2. I think they'll probably be looking at what other songs they did play on the original JT tour, and then which songs that came after JT that would fit in the setlist and be relevant today, since that seems to be a big factor with them. I really hope Bad makes a frequent appearance! And I can't see them not playing One. Guess we'll find out next month!

your age, and how many shows you've been?

I am 22, and have been to three shows, fourth one in June. 1) U2360, Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia PA, 2011 2) U2360, MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford NJ, 2011 3) i+e, Madison Square Garden, New York NY, 2015 #4 will be The Joshua Tree 2017, MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford NJ, 2017. This will be my first time in GA, I can't wait! I agree, carvajfcutah, most people our age think U2 is a band for our parent's generation, but I think they are a great group for any age! I grew up listening to U2, been a serious fan since 2010. By far they are my favorite band.
  9. Hi everyone! I am dying to see U2 from GA, I've never done it before, and there are some tickets left from where I usually buy them from. Red Zone is a little out of my price range. But I want to know how GA works at this stadium. I know you cannot park there until 5 hours before the event begins (according to MetLife's website), but to take a train would be nearly three hours vs. 1 hour by car for me (from NJ), and I'm not sure they would have trains going to MetLife early in the morning. I've heard that to get a good spot you need to show up early morning, no later than noon. So is there anyone who has done GA at MetLife before who can tell me how it works and if I should take the train and show up super early or if going by car and getting there when the lots open is enough? Thanks for any help! Update: MetLife's express train doesn't run until 3 1/2 hours before the event. However, taking two or three trains and then a bus from my nearest station would get me to the venue anywhere from 9:30AM to noon, assuming similar schedules as they are this week.

Think that's it. I wonder if the HBO special is 2 or 2.5 hours, maybe they're cutting back for that time slot? I would hope a tour DVD includes the usual number of songs though.

Paris Shows 1 And 2 #U2ieTour Live Thread

Wonder what's going on with going from Miracle to Vertigo, and now only one e-stage song in between Mysterious Ways and Every Breaking Wave. Something special later or just taking it easy for filming?
