  2. From the album JT

These trees are absolutely stunning - I so wish the UK had the climate to grow them.
  3. Hi everyone! I'm desperately in search of 1 GA for San Diego. I'm hoping to queue in advance and would happily help with line management if needed (I arrive from Vancouver late Wednesday evening). Please let me know! Thanks, Michelle
  4. HI there I'm looking to buy 1 x ticket for any of the Amsterdam shows. Ideally a GA ticket. If you know of someone who is selling or if you have a spare ticket then please get in touch. Thank you
  5. Hi Excited to have Red Zone tickets for Joshua Tree at Twickenham - does anyone have information on if Emma (or a Red Zone representative) will be contacting re ticket pick ups? Emma was an amazing help at the O2 in 2015 and sadly the ticketing agents are typically slow on information or help! Thanks
  6. To commemorate the fact that I finally got to see the boys in concert after a 30yr musical journey (and JT being the first U2 album I owned as an 8yr old), I present to you my Yucca Plant JT tattoo.
  7. View From the CN Tower Friday Night

Toronto music journalist Alan Cross posted this today. Quite an impressive overhead shot of the crowd taken from the observation deck at the CN Tower . http://ajournalofmusicalthings.com/hows-photo-u2-concert/
  8. I think that Ticketmaster dropped the ticket prices today. The same tickets that yesterday costed $100, today are listed at $70 and the tickets that costed $290 today are listed at $165. The other price levels didn't suffer any change. https://www1.ticketmaster.com/event/0A0052C3807D0D27?ac_link=ontour_U2C_FCGRID_2017_sandiego
  9. Hi, I have two tickets for Twickenham 9th July (standing) and need to swap them for two tickets for Sunday 8th July. Anyone? Thanks Jez
  10. Hi all, Been to MANY U2 concerts all the way back to 1987 but this will be my first GA experience. Any suggestions on how this will work, will they let us line up early, how to get a good spot, and lastly, WHY are they not running the train from Boston? I appreciate any information! So excited for this concert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Hello to all my fellow U2 fans. VegasPatrick here. Haven't been on the forums in forever, but I wanted to post something pretty cool from my former place of employ, the Las Vegas Review-Journal. It's a multimedia expose on the original Joshua tree, the album of course, the story behind the video shoot for "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." Just all kinds of great stuff, by standout writers Henry Brean and Jason Bracelin, and photographer/videographer Michael Quine. Give it all a look! https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/nation-and-world/fans-still-find-what-theyre-looking-for-at-joshua-tree-made-famous-by-u2/ https://www.reviewjournal.com/entertainment/music/the-untold-story-of-u2s-1987-video-shoot-in-downtown-las-vegas/
  14. I have to 2 GA tix for Saturday May 20 but can't go. I can go Sunday! Anyone w 2 GA or 2 good seats want to swap their Sunday for my Saturday?
  15. Sorry...I know I'm going to get flamed for this... Bono can't sing anymore. His range is gone....especially his lower register. I'm not trying to be mean spirited but I can't fathom shelling out money to see the Joshua Tree Tour 2017 when I know I'd be getting Bono 2017 versus Bono 1987. I know, I know....people get old and their voice changes. However, I'm at the point where I find his voice annoying and I cringe when I hear him sing from their older catalog...i.e. Joshua Tree. And I'm not cringing because I don't like him...it's more of a feeling of pity. I know that many think his voice is great...so if you feel that way I hope you got tickets and enjoy the show. Me...I'm bowing out. I've seen them over a dozen times and it's time to call it quits. Anyone else feel the same way? Again, not trying to start a war...just my opinion.
  16. U2 has been my preferred band for about 35 years but we are not in an exclusive relationship; there are other bands I love and follow. One of those is the Counting Crows, who do a fantastic job (better than U2 to be honest) at mixing up their set-list and interpreting their songs in different ways. A few years back they did a show in New York where they played their debut album in full from start to finish and they later released it as a live album. So you have the original studio album from some 20 odd years earlier and a live version. With speculation that this anniversary tour could see all tracks from the Joshua Tree played, wouldn't it make a fantastic and unique member subscription gift in 2018 to give the dedicated fans a complete live version of The Joshua Tree. A little like U22 only better? Where do we start the petition?
  17. Back to the Croke Park Future

Exactly a week ago I was browsing YouTube and found this great TV-Documentary from 1987. It was filmed at and around the time U2 came back to Croke Park to play 2 nights during the Joshua Tree Tour. It's amazing stuff, as everything seems to be totally different now. Edge's ponytail, Bono's childish face, Croke Park was twice as small and looked hundred years older, the Troubles in Northern Ireland were still a big issue, Dublin looked like shit. U2 fans on the pitch were crushing each other, crowd control was invented years later, right after Hillsborough. The band played the songs with a lot more pace, the BPM was at least 20 higher, U2 played stadiums without the usage of videoscreens. It looks like the crowd was at least 20 years younger (and wilder) then. No single person had a camera, was hooked up to cyberspace or were talking to each other. They all went mad! It got me thinking what I did and where I was back then and I realized I am - and we are - getting old :-) Lots of things have changed, and now it's coming back. I'm really curious to see what tricks the band will have to make us relive that 1987 feeling. Will Edge and Bono have huge hair-implants? Will they play their songs in 1980's BPM? Will the Dalton Brothers come back? Will U2 have the guts to tell the audience that smartphones are strictly forbidden? Can they shut down the internet on show night? Are they going to refuse to use videoscreens? Or will they change the only thing that's still the same? Larry Mullen junior... Hope you guys were successful with the ticket quest, at least that was a lot easier this time. In case you're interested, take a break and watch U2 - World in Action 1987. You'll love it!
  18. I'm planning to go to the Rose Bowl show. In travelling there, I'm seriously considering a detour to Death Valley and to see the original site of the actual Joshua Tree from the album cover. Also, to go see Zabriskie Point in Death Valley, where the front cover photo was taken. I can't think of a better opportunity to go than this one. I figure going a day or so before the show would be ideal (May 19). Anyone else out there in Zootopia planning on going to find these remote desert scenes?
