RaceB
I know that the name U2 isn't just some random letter-and-number combination, but I don't know what it actually means. Uniform Twice? Undulating Squared?

Subscriber joshthetree Posted October 3, 2009 Subscriber Share Posted October 3, 2009 i like the story from an old U2 paperback biography i bought along time ago, the book said that one of the band was in class 2U and U2 was the class number backwards. i don't know if it's true though as all the official books like U2 by U2 don't repeat this story. that said the offcial books aren't always accurate like the story - in U2 by U2 - of how bono met greg carroll is differenet to what bono said in an interview in the uk music press during the late eighties, mmmm so who knows. i know edge gets a bit hacked off if you ask him
Subscriber mariacm Posted October 3, 2009 Subscriber Share Posted October 3, 2009 U2 was the name of an AmericaN spy aircraft which was discovered while overflying the Soviet Union, they made the plane land and it was a really serious international issue during the 70s, during the Cold War. Of course there is also the thing that U2 sounds like "You Too".
