I have just signed up to cycle from London to Paris in June 2011. http://www.discoveradventure.com/challenge.aspx?t=32

It is spread over 5 days with on average 120km of cycling per day. I am raising money for the Born Free Foundation and my target is £1500. As the event isnt until june 2011 I hope i can raise the required amount in time in order for me to do it. www.bornfree.org

Alot of training will be needed as although im 22 i am far from being in peak health but i need a challenge in my life and this will be perfect.

I will be asking everyone i know to help me in donating and will try to set up some fundraising events throughout the year. So i'd be very grateful if you guys could give me a hand in fulfilling this amazing experience and at the same time raising money for a worthy cause.

Please visit my donating website   http://www.justgiving.com/emmaking-ltp

Thank you,

Emma.

A great thing to do Emma - hope all the training goes well and you enjoy it all - no matter how painful it gets on days!

And if all begins to hurt too much have a look at the getting fit thread on here - it is giving me inspiration when my training is beginning to hurt and I am losing motivation.

Amazing charity too - good luck and keep us all posted.

Thinking about going for a bike ride tomorrow around grafham waters near where i live. I think its about 8 miles. This will show me how fit or un-fit i am!!!

I am sure that you will do fine! When I fisrt started my running training I could only manage to run a minute - seriously! I did the 1 min run 2 min walk. In about 2 months I can now run to just over 5 mins! - Still a long way to go for a 1/2 marathon but will get there and I am sure that you will too.

I'm sure we've all can spare a few pounds to get Emma well on her way to her grand total. Nice to see people getting out there and doing something for a decent cause.
