Subscriber 123love 173 Posted October 24, 2010 Author Subscriber Share Posted October 24, 2010 Kert ... I hear you on that and I love children and work with them, but it does leave one feeling left out when friend-parents get going on and on and on. Thanks everyone about the course grade. Sacred ... this sounds like great news! Auntie needs a new pair of shoes, Patti? I can understand how you feel now....................but parents are totally aware of that

Subscriber barbara1 95 Posted October 24, 2010 Subscriber Share Posted October 24, 2010 i'm a little sad, cause i watched a documentary with my kids this afternoon bout the suicide of phoebe prince. i read bout her, here in the zoo months ago. and i did google some articles bout her back then. our national tv showed this irish documentary bout the circumstances that made such a young, beautiful girl to take her own life. i recorded it to watch it with my kids. they were asking why? why do we have to stop playing, chatting on FB to watch this?? told them i just wanned them to see what bullying can lead to. i don want them to think it isnt that bad to hate another teenager, and make fun of them or mock them or threaten them. i don want them to think its not so harmful to send someone mean messages. i want them to know how things can get out of hand. i want them to know what desperair can do to people. and how bad it can hurt to be called names and been cursed at. you really think we would do something like that? they asked.... i said "no i don expect you to do something like this, but i guess neither did the parents of those 'untouchable mean girls' or that popular foutballteam-captain...and yet they did." Don't know the story but when it is about suicide it's always awful. Must have been difficult to talk about it with your kids, but I'm sure you did the right thing. It's just unaccountable how cruel children and teenagers can be just because they don't understand how terrible consequencens bullying and innocent acts might have. I'm sure the document was depressing but hopefully it made everyone who saw it to respect and take care of other people. They should show it in schools too....
