I'm just wondering, WHY THE FUCK ISN'T DAVE GROHL AT NUMBER 1?! And Ringo Starr shoudln't be in. Nothing creative, apart from his invention of 'The Drummer As The Idiot'!

Probably something relating to the fact that's there's truckloads of better drummers!

Dave Lombardo, Tim Alexander, Josh Freese, Joey Castilo, Mike Bordin, Jon Theodore and Gene "The Atomic Clock" Hoglan are all IMO, much more accomplished rock drummers than Mr Grohl.

As for Larry, he'd certainly win the no.1 spot in the 100 most handsome rock drummers list, and his metronomic/ military band style is invaluable to U2s sound, and is oft imitated, but from a technical point of view he doesn't come close to many on the list.

It's similar to Edge really.  His style is unique and amazing etc etc, but there's many "better" guitarists out there from a technical POV.

That's not to discount the fact that Larry and Edge are my favourite drummer and guitarist!

TWO WORDS!

danny carey.......................mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

For shiz!

He's right up there with Dave Lombardo in terms of creative and frighteningly heavy drumming.

Brain Mantia of Primus and Dale Crover of Melvins, Fantomas and pre-Dave Grohl Nirvana should also get an honourable mention.

As should drum prodigy Thomas Pridgen ( Mars Volta) who at 9 years old was the youngest person to endorsed by Zildjian in the companies 400 year history.

great drummers there you mentioned!

josh freese is wicked too! and to think of the artists he has played for, miley cyrus! eeeek! but his perfect circle work is brilliant!

lets face it, larry himself will be glad to see his name void in that list. he admits he is a very basic drummer. but i think he has laid down some good drum tracks. a sort of homecoming, sunday bloody sunday, acrobat, breathe.
