Stay safe!!! Been watching this on the news and doesn't look good at all!!!!

the snow and blizzards in America, have seen the devastation that Queensland is in the middle of. makes me so grateful that i live in a mild country - ok it is never that warm and rains a lot - but beats what others have to put up with

I am SO lucky to live where I do . . . too hot in the summer, but that doesn't compare to the cold, besides that's why we have pools out here. The odd earthquake or two, but in all my many years, I've never felt a really big one or seen any damage (knock on wood - hoping I didn't just jinx myself). I always think of the homeless or the elderly/frail and the poor who may not have heat - must be so very hard on them and I am always so upset when the news reports the deaths caused by a storm.

I think the disasterous flooding in Australia is a lot worse then a big blizzard. You can dig yourself out from snow, usually, but unparalled flooding does unparalled damage, just destroys everything. I was lucky enough to flag down a neighbor this morning who had a plow on his vehicle and I paid him to dig out our driveway. We had a 6 foot drift over half our driveway, so did many other people. It was worth every penny I paid cause there was no way my husband and son could've shoveled it and our snow blower couldn't handle it.

Unfortunately, there's already been some reported loss of lives :(

Oh no that doesn't look good Surrenders! Actually looks little bit like here in Finland - only that in here it is pretty normal in the winter.

Not to mention Australia's storms again... the weather is so tricky and strong and unpredictable these days....

Take care and be safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought of the scandanavian countries and all the snow you always have.  You do learn to adapt and towns our equipped to handle it.  I have to say, they got things moving pretty well today.
