In the spirit of protest music that most of us love and identify U2 with, here are also some songs from around the Middle East:

(compiled by others on the web, attributions noted. I posted 1 video per post because I am not sure of file size limitations). I apologize if I accidentally post something twice. I will double check. but if you see this please say, and I will remove one. �I think I should have posted these in reverse order, but it is too much work to do again. �You may wish to start at the bottom and work up.

Computers are not usually credited with motivating twentysomethings to hit the streets -- but technology seems to have helped do exactly that when it comes to the recent spate of antigovernment protests erupting in the Middle East and North Africa.

 

In Egypt, Iran, and Tunisia, a new wave of powerful music videos -- some original, some mashups -- are being circulated among young activists. Here's a rundown of videos that are helping inspire a generation.��
