In an interview just recently in south America where the band are currently touring, bass player Adam Clayton has hinted it may be time for u2 to put down their instruments and bow out with grace.

Thoughts and rumors have been flying around about a new album, but since last week when guitarist the edge spilled the beans that there will be no tour extended and no new album until after the tour.

But after meetings the band have decided to officially announce they will retire at this years Glastonbury festival.

Adam Clayton said "we all feel very tired. It has been an extraordinary couple of years. While the last album didn't gain the success we wished for, the tour has been a success. We are very excited about glastonbury, but we will announce something on the day that might upset a few fans"

The bass player also added "but although this tour could be the last, glastonbury will contain some suprises"

You can still purchase glastonbury tickets this coming weekend.
