Community Moderator mich40 Posted May 28, 2011 Community Moderator Share Posted May 28, 2011 Magnificent US Edit 2 out of 5 This is from the CD single that had 7 different versions. Magnificent started out as my favorite song on NLOTH. I still love it, but I love other songs more now. And it's an edit. I freakin' hate edits of songs! Not even sure why I'm wasting the space on my Ipod.
Subscriber MacFoley Posted May 28, 2011 Author Subscriber Share Posted May 28, 2011 EVEN BETTER THAN THE REAL THING (PERFECTO MIX) 5/5 90's, raves, pills, nuff said! must say when this came out back in the day, it was so fitting! along with achtung, and the zootv tour and the madness to all of u2's world at the time, u2 showed that they went to clubs and lived the high life. this is the debut result of it and what a result! Subscriber hnicolaidesk Posted May 29, 2011 Subscriber Share Posted May 29, 2011 I say again - it is THE perfect love song... That and David Bowie's "Wild is the Wind" - which was the "first dance" at my wedding...
Subscriber utwothefly Posted May 29, 2011 Subscriber Share Posted May 29, 2011 Big Girls Are Best -medium rare and remastered. 3.5/5 Gave it a 3.5/5 as in comparison to other u2 songs its nowhere near as good but still is a good song. Probably could have made it onto an album and maybe at some point it could have been before they decided not to. Third track on 7 so they obviously think alot of it. For some reason it does'nt quite have the power of other songs or the emotion so its 3.5 for me.
Subscriber danielsentana Posted May 29, 2011 Subscriber Share Posted May 29, 2011 Won't Get Fooled Again - Irving Plaza, New York, 2000 2.5/5 My favorite song out of the U2 world, but a terrible version by the band. It lacks the spirit, the solos, and it's cut short. It's nice to hear U2 cover it, and it was certainly a surprise on that gig (after playing 11 O'Clock, now that was a surprise!) but unfortunately it's nowhere near The Who version, which stands out for being a rock 'n roll anthem and a symbol for a whole generation. Nice rendition, but not to be remembered.
Subscriber maggie18patchwork Posted May 29, 2011 Subscriber Share Posted May 29, 2011 White as Snow 5 out of 5 Love this track, from one of my now favourite albums. Wasn't an instant favourite but I think that is because of where it is on the album, I would reach FEZ and keep replaying that track. I first really listened to it through earphones when slightly pissed and thought wow that's so good.. Amazing lyrics " who can forgive forgiveness where forgiveness is not" Bono's voice is great. I wonder how it would sound live?? I think it would be great as an acoustic. An emotional and powerful song
Subscriber jbarnych Posted May 29, 2011 Subscriber Share Posted May 29, 2011 Twilight 4 out of 5 I haven't listened to this one in a long time. I probably first heard this when I was about 15. I started listening to U2 with The Joshua Tree and went out and bought all the previous albums. It was interesting listening to Twilight again. I get this image of a young Bono lost and running through a dark forest when I hear it. I would love to hear what this one sounds like live.
