Subscriber pain_18_ Posted August 1, 2012 Subscriber Share Posted August 1, 2012 Just heard on the news that some Olympic teams have been under-playing on purpose just to be matched up with less fierce competitors and make their wins easier down the road . . . . . shame on them!!!!!! The crowds have been booing them and rightfully so!!!! Can you imagine buying tickets to sit through that??? I guess some ping pong teams have been disqualified because of it - GOOD, out they go, they don't deserve to be in competition if they refuse to compete! I'm not sure, but I think they said it happened in soccer as well????As far as I saw things, I know as much as you, I agree whith what You say...down with those fakes !!!! Sigma957
I liked the opening ceremony. Not as good as Beijing but still very very good. If MUSE plays the closing ceremony, that will be awesome. Hopefully J A M E S get asked to perform too, would love to see 200,000 or so people all singing 'Sound' or 'Sometimes' in unison. 'Sit Down' if they have time. And U2 to represent Ireland with a ripping version of 'Where the Streets Have No Name' (Larrys favorite song to play live (per RTE archives)). This is Britain hosting the Olympics, therefore virtually every band playing will be British, so U2 wouldn't play. Muse are definitely rumoured to be playing, but to be perfectly honest I don't think James are big enough.
Subscriber pain_18_ Posted August 2, 2012 Subscriber Share Posted August 2, 2012 Definitely Muse *, maybe they'll play Feeling Good (Nina Simone) and to be even tougher..Summer Time (Ella Fitzgerald) and then a couple of Smashing Tunes of their Own..But probably NONE of what I said will be played....
