Subscriber Alma1 134 Posted April 11, 2013 Subscriber Share Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) Cobain/Vedder video - a few notes: 1) 0:16 - I do not like that this assumes what happened to Kurt. But it might have. 2) :23-:49 - Mr. Rooney just about dismisses young people's circumstances & feelings. W/all due respect to him (whose work I was fond of, as most were), offering perspective is fine, but u should NEVER be dismissive of the feelings of a disaffected/depressed person, young or not. According to 1 expert I read, the most important things u can do to help are: 'be there' / don't step away (share a cup of coffee to talk, let them know u're there) - make them look u in the eyes & promise they would never harm themselves - & put them in touch w/counseling if appropriate. 3) :52-1:09 - This is Neil Young talking - & about something important - so please don't imitate his choicer words here. (Thanks.) Rest In Peace Kurt, Michael Hutchence, & all others known & unknown, friends & loved ones. Peace, love, & understanding. The 'Walk' I referred to of course is Ireland's annual 'Walk In My Shoes' event (taking place Friday, April 12) that Adam Clayton promotes to support mental-health services for young adults. http://www.walkinmyshoes.ie/ http://www.walkinmyshoes.ie/our-video-wall/?catid=video-wall&slg=98fm-interview-with-adam-clayton Edited April 11, 2013 by Alma1
