Thanks Doc! There are heaps of people who are working on the frontline. The people I am working with have really high standards, professional and ethical. The whole process has evolved into a slick well oiled machine. I suppose like a U2 show.

The last job I worked at before I was caring for my mum was a really horrible place where the patients were receiving a poor standard of care, I flagged it, and they came after me. It's the first job ever in my life where it was like "DON'T GIVE UP YOUR NIGHT JOB". Meaning playing music, it's usually the other way around. Some of those people were promoted, even when they found human rights abuses and neglect.

That is shocking that they tried to punish you for doing the right thing and standing up for the patients' well-being  :o  And that some of the people dishing out the mistreatment were effectively rewarded for it.

I hope action was taken against that place. I'd hate to think the abuse was still going on.

My good thing for today is that I received my second parcel of Star Wars cards in two days. Today's parcel included a costume swatch relic related to my favourite character :)

Pada,

They made up lies about me. I had to retain a lawyer. Like I said when I exposed them and the ruling went in my favour, the govt, changed judges and secretly placed one of their health lawyers who was corrupt and he was a nightmare and it was awful. He ruled in their favour and said awful things about the previous judge. The full bench also had people on it that had done deals too.

I don't think they thought I would stand up to them, but I was in the right, and I really felt like I had no choice. Like I said, because they cheated they had a Lance Armstrong win. There is a full transcript of all that transpired.

I don't have their wealth and power, but I have integrity and honesty and I can stand up to these corrupt people and look them in the eye. The health minister attends the largest Christian church in the State and when he came to power, suicide rates in the state spiked, it was a dark time. I contacted him as a Christian and told him the manager had sworn on the Bible and lied, and the first judge had found his evidence to be unreliable but he supported the man that did this. So there it is.

I am fine now, because at the end of the day I did nothing wrong, I tried to advocate for the patients which is part of the code of conduct and ethics. These people don't care about those things. Just the money. I don't speak that language.

I believe you can be successful in life, but not at the expense of peoples lives or causing harm.

I went to the library to look for a particular book - and came home with 5 books, including the one I'd been looking for B) The poetry one was part of their book sale, so I get to keep that one.

My dad and I also had lunch in a lovely little cafe where we're almost becoming regulars. The really good part was that it's the sociable sort of cafe where you get talking to the staff and other people who come in, even though we'd never met the other customers before.

It's been noticeable to me that people seem more friendly and happy to talk since lockdown ended. I think the experience of *not* being able to socialise for months has maybe made people more willing/keen to talk and have a laugh with each other. Certainly, it's been noticeable at the cafes we go to most frequently, that there are friendly atmospheres and you can get into a conversation with people even if you don't know them. And sometimes you end up helping someone. Today, we helped a lady who's new to the area by telling her about the short-cut to the car park, so that she could go and pay for more parking before her ticket ran out.

She wasn't intending to stay so long at the cafe, but she was enjoying the chat so much that she decided to stay and have cake :D

It is good, no spoilers here. I’m not sure it’s as good as the 5 star reviews it’s getting but if you like Bond you’ll love it.

…and now I have seen “No Time To Die”, and I did indeed love it! 😎👍 My first film in a theater in almost 2 1/2 years!

For those who only watch Bond films sporadically: if you plan on seeing this one, be sure to see “Spectre” first. You would miss a few things if you didn’t see “Spectre” first.

I loved the little nods to the whole Bond franchise throughout the film as well - very nice touches!

Thank you very much.  I've not seen a Bond film with Daniel Craig.  I want to see No Time To Die.  I appreciate the heads up.

My good thing:  Coldplay is coming to Soldier Field in Chicago on May 28.  I'm signed up for the verified fan thing on TM.  I've also figured out a way to humbly ask the lady who comp'd me two tickets to the last Coldplay concert at Soldier Field (because it rained the previous Summer when Coldplay was at Soldier Field) for help.  Man, I have balls when it comes to this stuff.  Rock and roll, baby. The nervous 'I have got to get great seats for this show' rumination begins.'  The first time I saw them was GA, Clocks had not been released, not many people were going to the shows and we were right in front.  I'm spoiled.  BONUS:  Ticket prices seem to have come down by at least $50 for this tour versus the last.  Yee Haw!

My other good thing (equally unexpected) was running into this on YouTube:

If you have not seen this, listen to what Sir Paul McCartney says at 1:50.  It's quite funny and delicious.   I am stoked about this.  I did not know.  57 hours of footage?  Peter Jackson does not take on small tasks.  Wow.  Very exciting.   I guess I'm going to Disney.

I had a day out today to a nearby town that I hadn't been to for well over 2 years.

It's only about 15 miles down the road, but the landscape makes it feel like you've driven much further, with the hills and rural scenery. I borrowed 2 books from their library, bought 4 more at a lovely independent bookshop, had lunch, explored the town some more - including 2 small art shops/galleries - then went back and bought 2 more books from the bookshop. I was also able to add 2 more dictionaries to my language collection, as I found Czech and Hungarian dictionaries in a charity shop.

It feels good to be able to have days out like that again, - and to be able to support the local shops, cafes etc in those towns as they're getting back to normal.

I have been watching some analysis of the upcoming movie Let It Be the name of the channel is Pop Goes The 60s. And he analyses conversations and fills in details, one of them is when John Lennon was having an adverse reaction to heroin in an interview with a Canadian journalist. He mentioned how Yoko had introduced John Lennon to heroin. I was like.....ok time out here people, stop the car, I did not know that. That changes many things for me as I understand a dynamic that I was not previously privvy to. Furthermore, there is input from people like Neil Aspinall, I did not know he fathered a child to Peter Bests mother a month before they signed their record deal. As Pete Best was never told why he was sacked, this could have been a reason, as it would have been seen as bad publicity in a day when his mother having a child out of wedlock with a 19 year old would have tainted the bands squeaky clean image.

Just editing to add more. I have seen some pictures of Julian in pics with them around this time and he looks just miserable. Cynthia was such a gentle kind soul and an artist herself. The thing with John's ego, he probably needed someone like Yoko to pull rank on him otherwise he would just run amuck. He acknowledges his self involvement in later life in an interview in September 1980 with another journalist, when he explains why he never calls anyone.

I loved looking up all these other characters in the Let It Be story/era to see how they went on in their lives. I even thought, around this time, my parents were immigrating here to Australia, and these people were being creative and doing their thing in the studio. Essential viewing, almost mandatory.
