What Good Thing Happened To You Today (Continued)

Recommended Posts

Went to GAK, Brighton's biggest guitar shop, and found Bono's (RED) Gretsch for sale! Sadly I can't buy it because I'm left handed...

Cool. Just thinking that would be a nice gift for the edge, considering all the guitars Bono gave away :) I don't have that kind of $$$

What a great find !!

Nice pic!

That's cool, Peterferris. Almost wish I could buy it.

Wrote a poem today. Haven't been writing anything for a while.

I attended a Women's Luncheon at my church where a speaker was brought in to talk to us about her work as a nurse from Mercy Ships.  Mercy Ships is an organization of recycled cruise ships which provide medical care (screenings, medicine, surgeries, etc.) to various rural areas of Africa.

Seems like a worthwhile endeavor, illum, are you thinking about signing up?

We had our latest arts workshop at the local community centre today. We're averaging attendances of around 40 people per week which is great.

Last week, I took a bag of five small exercise books with me to give to any of the children who wanted to have a book at home that they can write or draw in any time they want to. Today, the last two books went. Small things, but some of these kids don't have much, don't get much encouragement from parents/people at home, so for them to just have a book of their own is a big thing and I can't wait to see what they write and/or draw in them.

I wish I could, but I don't have the $$ to volunteer for Mercy Ships, but you know the old saying "charity begins at home".  So for now, I'm good with volunteering for the local Red Cross office once a week.  I've also made a couple of donations to a couple of  Local "Christmas tree of Sharing" programs.
