Subscriber davide78 Posted September 24, 2014 Subscriber Share Posted September 24, 2014 I really hope it does not end up on the cover picture of Larry with his son !! I do not like that picture and it is not indicated for the cover of an album by U2.Prefer a picture with the full band. What do you think? Sigma957
Don Henley would say "this is the end of the innocence"
Subscriber davide78 Posted September 25, 2014 Author Subscriber Share Posted September 25, 2014 I do not understand why U2 leave the cover as the image presented Apple event, this photo of Larry might suggest something related to homosexuality? Pedophilia? Of course not, but for a lot of people who do not know U2, would not be able to give different interpretations to the image. I really hope it goes the full band photo on the cover of this and maybe Larry as a back cover.

Subscriber febottini Posted September 25, 2014 Subscriber Share Posted September 25, 2014 The non-U2 fans didn't understand the album, so probably they won't understand the cover too... but who cares? Just like Bono said last week, "We have haters but we also have lovers... They will drown out that other noise." The photo is about a father giving a hug in his son. Maybe Larry is trying to protect him or Elvis could the reflex of Larry when he was at that age... there might be lots of interpretations, nice ones. This album is a look at the past, is about their first experiences and the beginning of the band. Who founded it? Larry. What was the original name? Larry Mullen's Band. So for me is very reasonable to see Larry in the cover. And now with the 'official' photo we can notice this detail: Son (space) gs. It's great this 'trick' with words so everyone now is aware that is about a father and a son.

Rather than go on about it everyday, there is the itunes cover, which I think is cool. I like the way it looks like a vinyl with Bono's handwriting on it. There is that one to use too. Just surprised Larry agreed to do this gig more than anything. He is normally the one that is funny about these sort of things, but good on him. As the founder member of the band too, I dig it. Personally I don't care if people don't like the album, or if they don't like the cover. In my opinion, I feel if people have got a problem with it, then yeah, it is their problem. U2 are getting enough hate, and will get even more with this, but then again, so what? This is the cover, people will have to live with it, if they can't, no drama's. Sorry about the weird fonts, I copied and pasted my reply from the @u2 forum.
