My wife bought me and my friend a ticket for U2 at Glasgow next year.   I've since been informed by Ticketmaster that my wife will need to enter the venue and show I.D.   The card holder must be present when entering the arena.  Ticketmaster rightly informed me i should of checked the T&C's before my wife ordered.

Nice one.

$50 dollar subscription to get a chance of pre-sales

Now 2 x GA tickets will be going in the bin.

Thanks Ticketmaster.

Bollocks!

Ah, but the mightly Bigwave is intervening on your behalf--keep up hope!

Glasgow is over 200 miles north of Manchester.  I've a hotel booked, the lot.   I will seriously go ballistic if some jobs worth refuses me entry next year.   I'm currently speaking with Ticketmaster on what options i have available to get me in?

Take wife's credit card

Take wife's credit card statement

My own I.D

Ticketmaster are rejecting all of the above.

I just receive snotty emails saying they have done everything possible to make the U2 experience more enjoyable for true fans, and that it's my own responsibility to ready T&C' prior to booking tickets.

In 30 odd years i have never known of anything as shite as this.

I swear if i don't get in, i will cause a proper scene.

I'm sure you will get in paul! To many people do the same as you and your wife. And i think many will have ticket for Christmas-gift.

I share the same logic as you.  I'm confident to sort it.  I'm being polite and helpful as possible with Ticketmaster.  Just need to get hold of someone senior on the phone and have a normal conversation.

Bloody hell, it's not easy.  But thanks.  I will be in there.

When I've done paperless before, it is just scan, print; scan, print; they aren't looking at anything. I'm sure they have to cling to what the actual policy is, but in practice, if the card swipes and a ticket comes out, it won't matter what name is on the card.

latest email from Ticketmaster is pretty much the same as yesterday...

"only the card holder and guests can gain entry into the arena.  The card holder must be one of the party attending, and valid photo I.D required.  If you are not able to attend, then your guests will not be allowed entry.  Ticketmaster will gladly re-sell your tickets, then reimburse you the full price you paid, once we have re-sold your tickets. Please refer to full ticket instructions posted on the official U2 site.  We hope you enjoy the show".

Can someone from U2 management sort this please?   I feel like I'm communicating with a corporate robot.

My wife and i live 200 miles from the venue.  My wife bought tickets as a Christmas present.  She will not be attending.  Only myself and my best mate are going.  What is the problem?  I can bring my wife's bank card and statement.  WTF !!

Please someone help.
