NYC is not paperless as it is against the law there.

Went to Eric Church paperless, upon walking in they gave me a seat location (GA pit) on a receipt and a wristband.

You get a keepsake but it is not a concert ticket....

Would be nice if they made nice tickets for the amount they ask in service fees....have a nice hard copy ticket with a photo of the band, similar to what season ticket holders get for NHL teams.

No petition to sign for me, I love paperless, all you have to do is take a look at the amount of NYC GA tickets that are  being scalped, or better yet look at how many tickets are being resold on Ticketmaster's own site. Do you think these are seriously from fans that purchased tickets and then changed their mind......of course not, they're just two bit hustlers trying to make a quick buck.

By the way, ticket prices are about supply and demand. With the exception of GA, every ticket being sold on the resale market should sell for way less than face value and the longer you wait the bigger discount you will get, especially for the shows recently added, where management can't even sell their own allocation......Stones tickets were going for 1/2 price the day before the show at most venues. Scalpers are going to take a bath on this tour.

For those want keepsakes, paperless receipts are getting better. I just saw Cat Stevens and it was the best receipt yet

I suspect that for everyone who loves CCE, once they are in a position where an issue arises and they can not give, sell  of otherwise make use of their tickets, they might see it a bit differently.

Maybe not....maybe some simply like throwing away money and having all their options limited.

To me, the issue remains that the reduction of customer options is not reducing scalping but is enhancing TM's bottom line.

There are multiple sides to this issue. The entire reason scalping exists is because bands/sports teams are kind enough to sell tickets at BELOW market value. If the original value of the ticket wasn't priced at a point where scalpers could buy them and make some money on the resale, scalping would not exist. Can you blame a scalper for trying to make money, but not blame any other corporation for trying to make money on some other product? I don't necessarily like scalpers, but I do understand them. I can't blame anybody for trying to make money. I have had to resort to that market before to get tickets for an event I want to be in. It is economics as people said above. How would we all feel if U2 charged $150-$200 for GA ticket. We know they could easily do that. Undercut the scalpers a little and keep the money for themselves.

Either way, I understand the point of the non-transferable tickets, but it is cornering the fans that bought tickets and now have zero way to get rid of them. In my opinion, there is an easy fix that I am sure ticketmaster can do (but will they?). Allow the sale of these tickets on their marketplace and put a price cap on them. I'm sure they can program their system to sell at a price that is at the retail price and no higher. I think that would solve all the issues that are outlined above.
