I was 1y6mo2days old, so nonown personal memories of it here. I know my mum and dad were Elvis fans and they always said the news hit like a bomb ... Gone for so long but still every generation knows his songs ...

I hear ya because Elvis is timeless as a result of his music and will forever be "The King of Rock N' Roll"!!  Oops I forgot to include one of my favorite Elvis songs called "Devil in Disguise"

I think you should make peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

We tried the peanut butter and banana sandwiches a couple years ago and they weren't exactly "a hit".   So to avoid any dinner time drama (in case kids are over), it kind of limits the choices to southern-fried chicken.

Elvis would add bacon to it too

I do not remember where I was when Elvis died. But about twenty years later I visited Graceland in Memphis, which was a pleasant surprise.

And we also went to the famous Sun studio in Memphis, where Elvis made his first records. When we arrived there the first thing we saw was ... U2.

A television at the entrance of the studio showed footage of the recordings the band did there of a few songs for Rattle and Hum.
