Did ANYONE with a presale code since you are a member here get a code to TRY in the general? Don't feel like you missed out - all the tickets that are worth having (i.e., both less expensive than the highest price and not behind the stage and/or with an obstructed view) are long gone. In a way, I'm glad about that - the general admission tickets should have gone to the pre-sale groups. I tried for about 15 minutes (I got the code for the June 25 MSG show, in case you were curious) - the tickets that were $47-$112 (before fees) were all behind the stage and/or obstructed view; the only ones in front of the stage were the highest price ($331 before fees - yes, even in the 200-level of MSG, even in sections not close to the stage). The Red Zone tickets were long gone too (again, this isn't necessarily a bad thing). Now, the fact that this was the MSG show may account for the slim pickings - there are a LOT of people who live within commuting distance of NYC and many wouldn't think twice about dropping over $300 per ticket to go to a show - thus, MSG (and LiveNation/Ticketmaster) would have no qualms over charging that much even for seats that are far from the best. The simple fact is that many people will just pay it... I, for one, will not - I'll try for GA for any additional MSG shows. If I don't get a ticket for MSG, I don't get a ticket. (Fortunately, U2.com did work for me in their pre-sale.) Good luck to those who are still trying to get tickets!
Subscriber cathycritter Posted November 20, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted November 20, 2017 Well just as I didn't receive a code via text before the presale last week (innocence group) until I called to get one and they gave it to me over the phone, and then there were no lower bowl or GA ticks left; now I didn't get my Ticketmaster verified fan code texted to me even though I got an email saying I was selected to get an access code and it would be texted to me this morning. Surprise surprise I didn't get the code. I called Ticketmaster and waited on hold for 25 minutes, then held on with representative for another 25 minutes who then told me to write an email to someone at Ticketmaster explaining I didn't get a code. I did this and received email with code about 15 minutes later. Surprise surprise there were no decent seats left. All seats $330 and none in lower bowl, GA or Red Zone. :-(

I know about the release of the GA's just prior to concert....I used to live in chicago(my favorite place to see U2)....where they have multiple shows.... But, I live in NC now....where that is unfortunately not U2 friendly territory due to the obtuse politics....I saw them in Raleigh, though for the 360 show.....amazing....but, haven't been back. I have to travel....and plan for these U2 escapades now....since they are not in home state. I have traveled to Chicago. several times...but, I have kids....and the times/date don't often coincide with schedules..... I wish I could be that flexible...fly by the seat of my pants.....and be a U2 groupie like I was when young & in college. Responsibility get in the way.... It helps only living 90 minutes from Chicago. I hope you find a way to get to see the show. Chicago is my favorite place to see them too. I especially love seeing the last night they play Chicago. It was a pain, as I kept trying for better seats. Did get very nice seats for a very expensive price - wow!

That's what I do: I never pay more than face value for tickets. Of course if I have extra I never ask for more than face value either, and try to find the legit fans if it's an in-demand show. But so long as some people are willing to pay extra money, there will be a market. Well spoken and thank you. One can even scalp tickets on Ticketmaster these days; under the guise that your scalped ticket is, 'verified'. It's like letting a thief go because he or she has a valid ID. For those who were fortunate enough not to experience snafus during this whole ordeal, two bits of news to pass on. I got two different messages from Ticketmaster today - one to redeem the offer to receive a copy of the new SoE CD, and a second to say that my ticket for one of the shows was already printed and is being mailed imminently. So, if you ordered without difficulty, check your email - if you were curious, the arena that told me about my ticket status was for the Newark show on June 29th. ...and more news! The ticket I referred to above arrived in my mailbox today! I would have to guess that this is the fastest pre-sale ticket I have ever received. In any case, if you were fortunate enough not to experience the snafus of the last week, check your mail today or soon. Again, good luck to those still waiting to obtain tickets...

Sadly, for everyone of us who do not wish to give a nickel to the scalpers, there is at least one who will. Ever since Elevation '01, I have not been to a show where it wasn't sold out. I've wondered if the band could still pack the house, and they always did. I always looked around the arena/stadium just to see if there were open rows--even in the nosebleeds--and there weren't. By the time the band took the stage, it was filled. U2 may be one of the last big bands and that have such a huge and loyal following. Even with the price of tickets soaring with each tour, the demand is still there. Scalpers will thrive, which sucks, and many of us will left out due to cost, TM ineptitude or plain old unavailability. I love them band and always give it the college try, but this time around I was let down. No code means no tickets.
