What concert are you seeing next?

Now, it is my great pleasure to say that my next show is for Inhaler! 🥳 That show is this coming Thursday at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia. Of course, another show report will be coming for that as well. 🤘

I can tell you what concert I'm NOT seeing next: The Cure

After all the rigmarole, getting registered, getting selected for the sale, waiting in the queue...I had TEN different specific pairs of tickets selected, only to wait and wait until I get the message that "some other fan beat you to them." Ten times!

To hell with that.

I feel your pain in a different way. I wasn’t selected, I have no idea if this Verified Fan thing extends beyond today, I have no idea if the venue I would be seeing them in is having their customary presale tomorrow, and I have no idea if there will actually be any tickets for the general sale on Friday. 🤷‍♂️

It’s quite clear that this tour has too few dates, especially in large cities that are only getting one show (e.g., Philadelphia, Chicago, SF). The Cure’s R&D department obviously underestimated demand nationally.

Now, I will give Robert and the band credit for the ticket prices. They are very fair, and far cheaper than equivalent bands doing a national arena tour.

 I guess I’ll have to hope that a different presale starts tomorrow, or that I can luck into a ticket later. What I would really like to know is how anyone wins this lottery with their first choice. This is the 4th Verified Fan lottery I have ever entered, I’ve only been selected once, and for that one I got my 5th choice (and ended up not going because of the ridiculous prices - yes, I’m looking at you, Bruce Springsteen 🤬).

Maybe better news tomorrow or Friday? 🤷‍♂️

I'm not sure which is worse: not being selected, or being selected and having tickets in your account only to have "another fan beat you to it".

Looks like the show I wanted is sold out, so no supplementary sales.

I applaud the band's effort to democratize the buying process, but Live Nation needs a software upgrade. It's just cruel to select available tickets, then be told ten seconds later that someone else actually got them.

My daughter and I were really looking forward to it. We saw them the last time they came through, and it was great.

 

Anyway...we're seeing John Mellencamp next week.

I ended up getting a lawn ticket easily during sale for The Cure for only $36!!!

I didn't get verified for The Cure either. Although it does feel good to see the show I had in mind totally sold out and zero tickets being offered for resale.

We saw John Mellencamp Tuesday night. We had third row seats, and the show was terrific. Absolutely loved it.
