Fake U2 Social Media Accounts

Thought it might be important to add this here, as people have mentioned in the past not knowing how some of these fake accounts end up finding them/messaging them.
Just a short while ago the official U2 Instagram made a post about the new RSD release. I commented on it and within moments I received this:

So please be aware that these people are scrolling through comments that you may make on the social media platforms. Fortunately, I have my account private, so that’s as far as they could get with me.

Please report it; and since Bono doesn’t actually have an account, on the question where it asks who are they pretending to be, I’d put the official U2 one.

I've been contacted by two more of these accounts over the last few days, after commenting on U2's most recent post. I deleted them right away so I don't remember their exact names but I did report them. But as usual Instagram does not remove them because they don't find anything wrong with it. Two accounts pretending to be the entire band also requested to follow me, one was deleted after I reported them but the other was not.

It’s important to keep being vigilant and wise and keep reporting them, even if it seems sometimes that Instagram isn’t doing anything.
