As I'm only 23 and again as I've said, probably the youngest person here, I haven't been able to have the experiences other people here have had and sometimes it makes me sad, but I'm happy to be here now and not later. So happy birthday to my favorite singer and here's to many more years!

And here's one of my favorite pictures and a nice throwback... I've been trying to draw for it for a few days.

19 years ago today, I saw U2 in Milwaukee, Wi  USA.  The band was already celebrating Bono's birthday.  They covered Birthday.  They put a snippet of Happy Birthday at the end of One.  First time I heard/saw Bad performed live.   It's always been my favorite song ever.

15 years ago today, I saw U2 in Chicago:

Miracle Man
On the first night of filming, the second show in Chicago, Bono spoke eloquently of his love for Chicago and Miles Davis in particular.
'I fell in love in Chicago. I fell in love in a hotel room in Chicago listening to Miles Davis...didn't understand Miles Davis or how his music could make me feel until I was sitting in this hotel room looking out the window at this city. An Irish boy, 24 years old. And just looking around Chicago I kinda' understood Miles Davis somehow...'   (from the U2.com show report)

This prompted me to go home and listen to Kind of Blue by Miles Davis.  It became a top favorite album of mine.  I still listen to it all the time.  I cannot thank Bono enough for making the above remarks.  They pointed me toward a world of music which I now dearly love.  I don't think I'd know it were it not for Bono.
I also saw U2 15 years ago, tomorrow, in Chicago.   We got Party Girl and the show ended with a  full version of 40.   Asking and singing how long, all the way to our car and along with many other diehard U2 fans is priceless to me.

Thank you, Bono, for being so cocky yet quite humble at the same time.  It gives me a lot of joy.   Happy Birthday, Sir.

Bono,

I just want to say a huge thank you! All my life I was given the honor of hearing not only your beautiful music but also the opportunity to hear words of wisdom, and inspiration to "dream out loud". Your life means so much to so many of us, and so with that I want to wish you a happy birthday! To have seen you in concert has changed my life, and I'm so grateful for you! Have an amazing day full of joy and laughter, and even with these wild circumstances I hope you continue to see the good and have the best day possible.

Happy Birthday, Daisygirl x
