Some preshow reading. Not meant to be a downer, but a look at survivors just over 5 years out from the attacks.  https://www.dw.com/en/bataclan-attack-how-survivors-cope-with-the-trauma-5-years-on/a-55543272
Most of us probably remember it as it was happening.  We watched in shock. We worried about the band, the fans, our friends. Today, may be a healing day for some, or ripping off a bandaid for others, but either way, we will be here to carry each other. If you haven’t read @Madfl3a’s account of those days, I highly recommend it. https://www.u2andcoffee.com/2016/06/10/paris-mon-amour/

I hope today brings happiness and healing for those that were there.

Thanks so much for this @mich40 🙏, we're up for a very special show tonight/today for sure.

I don't think it's a downer, it's just reality. It was hard. it was traumatic. And i think it all touched us in different ways. It won't be easy, and it will most certainly bring a lot of emotions ... but as I remembered this morning after 3 days of freaking out about watching this show again, it also brought and will bring so much joy. I think, and as the tweets from the guys showed these past few days, it was meant to uplift our spirits, but it truly turn into a lot more than that. Ultimately those nights in Paris were a true celebration of being alive, and maybe more importantly for all those who went throught it, feeling alive... Ha.

I am so very happy that we get to watch this one all together seriously. That show is too much for one's shoulder. Carry each other, that's right on point.

Taking the opportunity to let you know guys that we're going to attempt a kind of virtual singalong on twitter during One. We def would sing if we were at a U2 show, so why not do it anyway? I think it would be a great way to celebrate the last stop of the Virtual Road that has been such an amazing gift for the online community, by uniting our voices, not as individuals, but yeah as a community.

Not sure there's a better show than this one to do it either... "All the stolen voices Will someday be returned"... Or at least, we can try and do that for all the people we lost since then. It's been a rough 5 years for humanity eh. Just a nice thought that we can still be One.

I'll shut up now, you can find all infos on the how if you want to join in, right here https://www.u2andcoffee.com/2021/04/06/u2one-a-virtual-singalong/
