Yes, that’s pretty official.

If they are really doing this without Larry, Larry needs to be giving a full-throated endorsement of this endeavor as soon as possible once the on-site announcement is made. Without it, I think many may not want to partake of this experience.

I’m also actively dreading the cost of the tickets for this (not to mention the cost of flights, hotel rooms, rental cars, food/drink, etc.). Bruce Springsteen’s current tour seems to suggest that there are acts who are comfortable just playing to the landed gentry of their fanbase.

Don’t get me wrong - the concept itself looks amazing, and, if it’s to honor AB 30th anniversary properly finally, then it’s a very good thing. I just hope that they imitate what they did during the original ZooTV tour, i.e., intentionally keeping the ticket costs as low as possible. Hope springs eternal. 🙏

do you really think they would do this if Larry wasn't involved, or at the very least, ok with the idea?

Looks like they would even if Larry does indeed need surgery although I hope this means he doesn't. Whether Larry is OK with it or not is yet to be seen...

My intuitive feeling is that he is at least ok with the idea; frankly, the fact that this now looks like it’s a “thing”, my bet is that he would most probably be there. Having said that, one way or the other, this news needs to be relayed ASAP.

The rest of my post above l stand by without further qualification. I realize the Sphere is apparently finishing on time, and U2 apparently signed up to open it long ago. So, obviously, that means things go ahead as originally planned. However, when it comes to ticket pricing, I hope the powers that be realize that 2023 is 2023: a post-pandemic year where inflation is very high everywhere, not just in the US. I don’t want the backlash that Bruce Springsteen had to endure from his fanbase for his upcoming tour to happen to U2.

It’s useful to remember that it’s not just concert tickets that are often valued with dynamic pricing - plane tickets and hotel rooms are too, and have been for far longer. I’m just hoping that this won’t be a series of shows for well-heeled fans only.

Do we think it is too much to ask for U2..com subscribers to have first access to tickets- before a general onsale? We can dream!  getting the Bono Beacon. Tickets was impossible, even with a presale code.. Just a strong suggestion from a long time fan and sub on behalf of all the long-term fans here!!

Always have wondered why U2.com couldn't handle running the pre-sale and then LN takes it from there.

Then would the scalpers get a U2.com membership too...
