Do we think it is too much to ask for U2..com subscribers to have first access to tickets- before a general onsale? We can dream!  getting the Bono Beacon. Tickets was impossible, even with a presale code.. Just a strong suggestion from a long time fan and sub on behalf of all the long-term fans here!!

That is the dream. Given the trainwrecks of on-sales for Bruce, Swift, Beyonce and others, I hope U2 has been taking notes. Give members their tickets before the scalpers.

If I have an active membership until June 2023, do I need to resubscribe now to be included in a first presale event if and when the tour is announced?  Or should I just renew now as a tour has not been announced?

We will have more information as it is released; but you should be fine.

Always have wondered why U2.com couldn't handle running the pre-sale and then LN takes it from there.

Then would the scalpers get a U2.com membership too...

Agreed. Seems that Ticketmaster is running all the sales in a staggered fashion for the Beyoncé tour hopefully they do that type of system for this. And unfortunately, they advertise subscriptions in advance of touring in order to get more money, which allows all the scalpers to spend a lousy 50 bucks on a subscription which will net them thousands at the end of the day.

However, when it comes to ticket pricing, I hope the powers that be realize that 2023 is 2023: a post-pandemic year where inflation is very high everywhere, not just in the US. I don’t want the backlash that Bruce Springsteen had to endure from his fanbase for his upcoming tour to happen to U2.

It’s useful to remember that it’s not just concert tickets that are often valued with dynamic pricing - plane tickets and hotel rooms are too, and have been for far longer. I’m just hoping that this won’t be a series of shows for well-heeled fans only.

It is Las Vegas!! It's a guarantee that tickets are going to be expensive. Look at the pricing for Bono's book tour. Tickets ran from $100 - $300 dollars. Plus, Ticketmaster is going to have its grubby hands on it. Not only will their fees be exorbitant, but they will also make it damn near impossible to acquire tickets if you actually want to go.

Yeah…I expect these tickets will be prohibitively expensive for many. And that’s not factoring in the travel/accommodation expense.

Of course, U2 could do what Pearl Jam did: affordable face value tickets for fan  club members, NO ticket transfers to cut-out scalping, and only permitting face value resale.

The tech infrastructure is already setup with LiveNation/TM so it would be dead simple if that was how they wanted to treat their fan club members.
