Admin U2Community Posted August 30 Admin Share Posted August 30 Headed to Las Vegas for the U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere shows beginning next month? We are delighted to announce Zoo Station: A U2:UV Experience, a fan portal comprised of more than 12,000 square feet of interactive exhibit space across two floors of The Venetian© (the only resort with direct access to Sphere). The exhibit will include a retrospective of Anton Corbijn's photography and videos, a pop up shop with exclusive merch, and a Zoo TV Cinema—an intimate theater where films curated by The Edge, including rare and unreleased concert footage, will screen daily. Zoo Station, which opens to the public on September 28, is a cutting-edge, multimedia interactive love letter to fans developed in collaboration with Gavin Friday, U2's longtime Creative Director. It is intended to serve as a central destination and hub for fans, where they can congregate, celebrate, indulge in a little retail therapy, view exclusive U2 content, and immerse themselves in the band's musical and creative history. Admission to Zoo Station is free, except for special film screenings in the Zoo TV Cinema. Subscriber Alma1 Posted August 31 Subscriber Share Posted August 31 DOES ANYONE KNOW if renewing a paid subscription is required to keep access to one's PM/mail? Or is going from a paid to a free sub okay to still keep ability to PM/mail? (Would ask Max but he's gone. Would create new thread for this question but can't see how right now.) Subscriber ZooWestminster Posted September 2 Subscriber Share Posted September 2 Is anyone familiar with the American light artist James Turrell? To my eyes, the new U2 : UV artwork has a similar aesthetic to Turrell's works. I imagine that the Sphere could be a tempting venue for him to explore the immersive qualities of light and colour. Note: I'm a fan of Turrell's work, though was unsuccessful making a reservation to see his Akhob exhibit in Vegas during our trip at the end of September.
Subscriber Friel4real Posted September 4 Subscriber Share Posted September 4 Oh Boy! Something else for non uber rich fans to miss!! I wish this whole Sphere and Las Vegas thing was parody, but methinks that art is starting to imitate art in U2 land. If you ask me (and nobody ever does) I think U2 have really been taken hostage inside the giant PopMart Lemon and are being held in an evil underground lair. Attempts to clone Larry have so far been unsuccessful...

Sounds very cool, and I'm glad they'll have a bar in there. No reason to leave the whole weekend! 🍻
