Brady Snare Jarrah Burl satin finish.
Brady Drums. Larry used this "Brady Snare" from the recording of Achtung Baby (1991) until the last shows of Vertigo Tour (2006), are best made by a family Snare and Australian wood, his treatise and sound are impeccable.
Celebrated not only for their distinctive sounds, Brady’s Ply Drums enhance the aesthetic appeal of the instrument with a stunning range of exotic timber finishes, certain to keep these drums at the top of the "most wanted" list for the discerning drum collector.
These exotic veneers are an integral part of the drum shell and are available on all sizes of ply snare drums and ply drum kits. You have the option of satin or high gloss finish on all exotic veneer. We use premium lacquers on both types of finish, ensuring they are protected from the environment as well as being maintenance-free. Satin finishes keep the natural look of the timber, whereas gloss finishes are hand-buffed and amplify the depth of the grain structure.
All finishes or exotic veneers are a cosmetic personal preference only and do not affect the sound of the drum. There is no price difference for the different exotic timber finishes, however a high gloss finish is slightly more expensive than a satin finish.
Nothing sounds like a Brady because nothing is built like a Brady.
From a superb, woody rim-shot to the clearest pianissimo rolls, a Brady ply shell snare is both dynamic and articulate. Our ply drums have the characteristic volume and projection of the best steel shells, but with a warmth and depth that no metal shell can capture. An expressive instrument with an open lively sound, our ply shell snare drums respond instantly to even the most subtle stickings.
"The sound it emitted was fast, clean and very cutting, with impeccable response. It was able to articulate with such incredible expression that I could almost imagine myself holding a conversation with it.” - Rhythm Magazine
Chris' abstract approach to traditional manufacturing techniques allows us to produce shells with a wide open tone that no mass-produced drum can match. Our ply shells offer a much broader sonic range, with more sustain, more projection, more natural low-end and incredibly wide tuning parameters. Snare drums are distinct, resonant and satisfying; bass drums pack a punch; and toms simply sing.
“The sheer power, bombastic low end, and solid punch of this bass drum turned heads when I used this kit on stage. In terms of overall volume tone and punch, this is the largest-sounding bass drum I’ve ever put my foot into.” - Modern Drummer Magazine
