Hy,
I'm Viki Moors and live in Belgium. I'm now 1,5 years together with my boyfriend Barry Vanspauwen. By U2 we have beome a couple. We sat on the same online dating site and in my intrests I put U2 fan and that I hoped to go to a U2 concert some day. One day Barry said hallo U2 fan. He said that it was unfortunate that he didn't know me a week earlier. The week before he went to U2 in Amsterdam and he bought two tickets but couldn't found anyone to go with so his mother went with him.
In the meanwhile, he's the love of my life since August 2009. That was one of my biggest dreams, to find the love of my life.
And my second biggest dream is also come true.
Barry has gave me a two day's citytrip to Dublin. Over there we've done a tour with a guide from The Unforgettable U2 tour of Dublin. We have seen the houses where Bono, The Edge and Adam grew up, where Larry now lives, the school where it all began, the U2 studio's and the U2 Tower. Barry himself had also planned a trip that he found before on U2tour.de/travelguide. We went for a drink to The Clarence Hotel, The Hard Rock cafe where a car from Zoo-tv is hanging above the stairs, to the Captain America cafe where a drumskit and a guitar hanging on the wall, The wall of Fame, Bonavox where Bono's name comes from and a disco where Bono goes to when he's in Dublin. This was from Monday September 20 2010 to Wednessday morning September 22 2010.
The second gift for that week that he gave me where 2 tickets for the U2 concert on Thursday September 23 2010.
So Wednesday morning when we landed back in Belgium we drove directly to Brussels where U2 gave that evening there first concert. Like many other U2 fans over there, we also went to listen the first night outside the stadium, just to enjoy the atmosphere. Just before the concert would end, during the last two songs, the doors to the stadium went open and we could all go inside. Magnificent!!!
And the next day it was finally U2 day. Amazing, under the impression, in short a wonderful dream! It rained all night and U2 had no roaf above them and were soaking wet. But they didn't give up. They keep on playing 2 hours in the rain. They earned hugh respect for this!!
Suddenly Bono begin to sing " I'm singin in the rain, just singing in the rain...and everyone in the stadium, about 78 000 people, all started to sing. That evening Barry and I have a few tears. It was a week to remember, to never forget.
I was a U2 fan before I met Barry but now I'm even a bigger fan. Everyday i listen to the best of 1990-2000, NLOTH,..., I'm on youtube, U2.com, facebook, downlaod pictures,...
