Took this photo when I was 16 at U2's free concert in San Francisco that was featured in Rattle & Hum movie during their Joshua Tree Tour in November 1987. Bono stared right at my camera which is why I chose this shot. In the movie they feature them playing "All Along The Watchtower" by Bob Dylan but in Black & White 16mm I believe. During this show Bono got in trouble with "the law" because he spray painted on a water fountain sculpture next to the stage "Rock n Roll stops the Traffic". He was referring to the double decker freeway behind the plaza of which traffic came to a complete standstill and people got out of their cars to watch the concert. This overpass was damaged during the great Quake of '89 and torn down. Was a major eye sore anyway!

The reason why they called it "Save The Yuppies" free concert was because the stock market had just crashed and the concert was in the financial district of San Francisco.
