  3. Spooky Friday the 13th coincidence! I'm ahead on my subscription somehow so I didn't bother renewing further into the future just to get the Berlin DVD. But after being sad I had to work right though the ATYCLB viewing party I decided to just renew so I can get the Berlin DVD. Better late than never. Package arrives today. Fantastic! Open it up and start reading the jacket and see that the show was exactly two years ago on this very day! November 13th. So...strange. Here's to hoping we're all packed in together at a crazy, wonderful, sweaty live show on this day next year.

  5. I finally got my copy of the new CD remaster today. The packaging is very nice! I’m sure the sound will be improved too - I’ll let you know when I get a chance to listen to it. They “remastered” the liner notes too: The original notes for "Walk On": The new and improved "remastered" liner notes for "Walk On": Well played, U2, well played... 😎

  11. I'd never seen this lyric video. The above still would be an awesome print, should any eyes and ears be hearing this and could make it so. I find the imagery very uplifting. Please add it to be subscriber's wish list. It's gives me warm U2 fuzziness.

  12. A friend recommended I check out a certain Grateful Dead album which I bought used on Ebay. It just arrived in the mail and the package seemed heavy for just one CD. I opened it and turns out that the seller included SEVEN bonus CDRs. These are a Willie Nelson radio session, a three disc GD show and a concert by The David Nelson Trio. Very cool surprise on a Friday 13th.

  13. You make a good point about the evidence (or lack of it). While reporting on the election, Dump's claims, the BBC and other British news outlets - including our newspapers - have been very clear in stating that there is no evidence for his claims of fraud. They have made it clear that his claims have no factual basis at all - which helps to emphasise that this is just the ranting of a bad loser who had convinced himself he was going to win because his party tried to rig and suppress the vote (e.g. trying to delay postal service deliveries, reducing the number of polling places etc). If he

And the rest of the Zoo (and the rest of the world) would like to thank you, @dmway and all the other American Zootops who helped to fire him It's going to be nice to have actual grown-ups in the White House who know what they're doing. It's felt weird these last 4 years watching your country go from Obama's dignity and compassion to being turned into a laughing-stock by a guy so blatantly not fit for office, to fearing that you were slipping into dictatorship. Now we can all breathe a sigh of relief that you've avoided that for the foreseeable future and once again have knowledgeab

  20. The beef knuckles I ordered for my dog arrived today. She loves them. Thank goodness! For a year I searched for her perfect toy. She would not touch any of them. It turns out all she needs is a blanket (which I had) to play hide/come get me and a good bone. I got a cashmere sweater that I love and have been watching online for months. It went on sale for four hours and I nabbed it at over half the original price. It would have been five times that price in Italy. It's my haven't bought tickets to any concerts/spent Thanksgiving alone due to pandemic/probably going to spend Christma

  23. In 1982, I was 17 and working at a crappy job as a sandwich maker in acafeteria. The cafeteria was in the lower level food court thatserviced four large office towers. Every day, thousands of officeworkers grabbed something for lunch and then scurried back up to theircubicles and ate while they got back to work.It was a fairly dreary job made better chiefly by a workmate namedScott. Other than an obvious passion for poor employment choices, weshared a love of music and would turn each other on to new bands andlend each other albums. I will never forget the day that he brought inU2’s ‘Boy’ albu

  26. Hello Hello! What is the U2 Christmas Card Exchange? For the past 20+ years U2 fans around the globe have been sending Christmas cards to one another. Yes, REAL physical mail, postage stamps and all! What is required? By “Getting on your Boots”, you will agree to physically send out at least 20 cards to the list that will be provided to you. Yes, YOU need to send out cards! (Please don’t participate if you aren’t promising to send out cards, that’s not fair) This is your opportunity to share your love of U2 with fans, and celebrate the season. Since this is a global

  27. ...and now the previously uncalled states have been called by all media markets! AZ and GA for Biden, and NC for Trump. So, the final Electoral College vote is 306 to 232 in favor of Joe Biden (with Biden winning the popular vote by an even wider margin than Hillary Clinton beat Trump by in 2016 - he’s currently up by more than 5 million votes nationally). 😎 As I pointed out in an earlier post, this is the exact margin of victory that Trump had four years ago, and he called that a “blowout”. (I think he’ll mischaracterize the margin this year...) I regard this total in the Elect

  29. Even worse is the fact that what you are unfairly experiencing is not rare. (I’m very sorry that you are experiencing it, though.) Unfortunately, as you already know, you can’t enlighten people against their will - especially so when they insist on reveling in their delusion. You just have to wash your hands of them and hope that the parting is merely temporary, with their eventual realization that they were in the wrong all along. It is indeed “sad”. Just keep your chin up. Theirs is the burden, and they are the ones who have to work through it.

  30. R.I.P. to one of the few nationally-liked celebrities, almost an institution unto himself, Alex Trebek. For those living abroad, he brought back and made more popular than its original incarnation the game show here known as Jeopardy. His eventual passing was a known thing for quite a while - he had cancer and let the world know as soon as he could. He lived for quite a while after the original diagnosis, but the disease was too strong in the long run. I’ll take “I Hope You’re Time In Heaven Is A Well-Deserved Rest For You” for a $1000, Alex...

  31. We've often referred to him over here as "the racist old fart" - especially during the protests when he visited. Although it has ruined baked beans for me. My neighbour's son, when he was little, used to call beans "beans what trump" because they made him fart. Come to think of it, baked beans are also a similar shade of orange

  32. NV has now been called for Biden too, increasing his electoral vote total to 279 (290, if you include AZ, as some media outlets have.) If the AZ result is confirmed, and Biden holds onto his lead in GA (as I think he will, even if there is a recount), he will have 306 electoral votes, the same amount that Trump had four years ago. If that isn’t an example of destiny and cosmic symmetry, I don’t know what is...

  33. I tell you what Dump reminds me of: being ten years old and you'd go and play out with your friends and whatever game you were playing, whether it was football, hide-and-seek or whatever, there would *always* be that one kid who could never accept losing. That one kid who would pick up the football (even when it wasn't actually their ball) and would accuse everyone else of cheating, throw a tantrum and run off home threatening "I'm telling Mum, you're being mean..." and so on. That's what he looks like at the moment with all of his threatening to sue everyone just because he's losing an

  36. News: There are only around 600 votes left to count in Wisconsin, provided the report is accurate. I believe this source. Donald Trump cannot win Wisconsin. It looks like he's also going to have to pay for it (LOVE that) if he wants a recount. I want to thank all of the poll workers and election officials of both my state and country. They have been under fire for some time. We had no violence for the voting. My state could not count the votes until yesterday, thanks to the Republican Party, which is now being called the Trump Party on most of the major networks I've watched. I h

  37. OK - the state of play so far... The big winner of the election so far: the number of people who voted in this election. This will probably be the most voted-in election ever. Another "winner" (more, "influencer") is the coronavirus and people taking the threat of it seriously - that led to an enormous surge of mail-in vote, and that just takes longer to count. The big losers of the election - for the second presidential election in a row - are the pollsters. They were wrong again - I sense they were wrong in a different way from how they were wrong four years ago; however, they were

  38. Trump just reminded everyone why he's completely delusional. He declared himself the "winner" at 2:30 in the morning and wants all counting of votes to stop. It won't stop the counting, and once the counting ends, it's looking strongly like he won't be a winner either (except in his own mind). There will be some drama over the next day or two, but things will resolve as they should. Stay tuned...
