  2. So it's been about 15 years since U23D went around the world in IMAX 3D theatres... Now there's a whole new generation of U2 fans who NEED to see it.... I would have loved to do a poll, but it seems I am unable to do poll on this forum... Don't U2's new fans since 2005 deserve a chance to see this show in 3D, considering U2 won't release it for home media ...not to mention all of us who went around Europe seeing U2 on the Vertigo Tour ... What do you think?

  3. Very nice looking set. 👍 Just please release it all at once for download. The "two songs now, two songs later" routine is unnecessary BS.

  4. I got my second Moderna vaccination today. While I was getting it, I got a text saying one of my favorite bands, Dawes, just announced a tour. I'll be seeing at least three of those shows and they always announce more for Spring. They are even coming to a venue I can walk to, drink and safely walk home. Normally, I've got quite a drive and cannot drink. That's six concerts in my future, including these three Dawes shows.

  5. Yes, especially when you have to keep re-downloading the same tracks each time they add a couple more!

  6. Hallelujah! 🙏 Thank you very much for releasing the full show! Now let me expand on why I am so delighted that you have done it (and why I asked for exactly that all the way back on pg. 1 of this thread, along with many others subsequently). I was annoyed that certain...let’s call them “morally-flexible”...people were selling this show at places that one can obtain such recordings. All those people did was record the show off of the Sirius broadcast (thus, no “Red Flag Day”) and sell the show without having permission to do so. Of course, there are many ways to address such a situation -

  8. ...and continuing the good news today, I am getting my 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine this coming Saturday! 😎 Thank you, Biden Administration, for making these vaccines more available more quickly! At first, I thought I would be lucky to get my 1st dose before the end of May; now, I will have both doses before Memorial Day! Thank goodness. Another of the baby steps back to semi-normality.

  9. One day late, but my Dad got his 2nd Moderna vaccine yesterday! 😊 So, now he is only two weeks away from maximum immunity. 😎

  11. Absolutely- LIVE shows with the best possible audio is what the vast majority of fans want from these gifts. Imagine having the Sellafield ‘ 92 gig, for example .

  12. I just want to post another comment about the Apollo set. Really I think it’s excellent we’re getting the full show, I do hope we get the full show to download soon while we wait for the physical release but I also hope in future we’ll continue to get plenty of live stuff. I have to admit I’m not interested in books or photos but if that is a gift one year at least give us a full show to download alongside that. The fanclub is heading in the right direction, a full show 2 years in a row, one on cd, one on dvd and the year prior to that 2 cd’s worth of live material including some really rare l

  13. I concur. (I always thought that was done in the past as an effort to “buy time”, as it were. Having a couple of songs intermittently spread out over a long period of time just looked like a placating effort that, frankly, just wasn’t very pleasing - it was much more frustrating than pleasing.) Anyway, I agree. 👍

  14. I am happy to report that I now have tickets to three Dawes shows. The first presale sold out yesterday (weird) before I could get tickets. I got in another and got tix for Chicago. I'm also thinking of going for broke and going to Nashville to see them at the Ryman Auditorium, which is the old Grand Ole Opry. Fellow fans are doing a VIP package where you get a pic and a private show during soundcheck, etc. I don't know. I feel weird meeting famous people as a fan. It's odd. I've known famous people but never like that so I'm very leery. Anyhow, three Dawes shows and counting. I am

  16. Good observations to note - my Dad gets his second dose of the Moderna vaccine this coming Sunday. He had no observable side effects after the first dose (however, knowing my Dad, he would have done his very best not to show it if he had felt anything wrong - oh, those Baby Boomers...); however, the public reporting has been saying consistently that the side effects after the second dose are much more numerous/potent. You seem to be feeling that. I'll be vigilant on Sunday. Feel better/less lethargic as soon as you can!

  17. I was wise enough to send my dog elsewhere until I recover from the second vaccination. I'm not so much sick as I feel like I'm 192 years old. (at least) I'm back to deciding which is greater: my need to get up to use the bathroom or my desire to not make a move and do absolutely nothing. It's ridiculous. I wanna slap myself, say get up and do something, ya little birch. I'm too tired. 🤣

  18. Johanna, There is no way to guarantee that the band will or can send any well-wishes, but be sure that all of us in the community are thinking about your father and you, and we are sending all of our best wishes for the best possible outcome...

  19. I had very few side effects. Some cold shivers the first night after the vaccination and I felt a bit fatigued the day after, but nothing really apart from that. I know some people have felt feverish and had cold/flu-like side effects, but I didn't. My good thing for today is that I managed to have a day out to another town. I returned some library books, borrowed 2 more and bought 2 more books from an independent bookshop that's one of my favourites. I also got to visit one of my favourite comic shops and catch up with the owners for the first time in months, as well as buying a Star War

  20. So the outside box was heavy duty, much like the AB20 box, and the design was based on The Virtual Road poster. Within were 4 x 12'' vinyl, the four VR live EPs, in sleeves identical to their digital covers. Paris was blue, white & red marble. Mexico was lemon yellow. Slane was green, white and gold. Red Rocks was, er, red. Fans were united in awe and wonder! Then I woke up... But ye can have the idea for nothing!! 🤫

  23. I also got a new couch. It was a great deal and is being custom made. This one is wide enough that my dog can lie with me on it. The one I have is not.

  24. Paris was filmed with 4K cameras but released on Blu Ray/DVD. Berlin was filmed in 4K but released on DVD. At this rate Heartland will be released on VHS. 😀

  26. I'm the Pastor of a small church in St Albans Uk and I also manage a community Food Bank. The Food Bank is hosted by my church and since we began the x4 local churches have been the main suppliers for donations to the food bank. March 2020 and all churches stopped physical service, moved online but the repercussions were that the food bank donations had no obvious source. It was a real concern. Every week during this pandemic I have had at least 3-4 offers of donations to the food bank from people I do not know in the community. People have been donating bags of shoppi

  30. 46650 - I hope so too! I wasn't even needed at work yesterday or today so I'm just staying home. It's not even nervousness about going out, because people are heading to pubs and bars with outdoor seating no problemo. If anything it's more to do with how remote my workplace is compared to everywhere else in town. Good thing I've still got flexible furlough to tide me over.

  31. Credit where it’s due, they’ve made it the full show on 2 discs even though they hadn’t previously specified it was a 2cd set. I really didn’t expect the full show. To get Red Flag Day when it hasn’t been broadcast either is a really good touch too. Thumbs up u2.com.

  32. Yep. I have made my views on EI Berlin being shot in 4K but only released on DVD very clear. The fact they aren't going to commercially sell a physical copy in 4K or offer a 4K digital download to purchase is farcical. Believe it or not, many of us live in the modern day and use modern day technology . But also, wouldn't we provide the photo they use for our statues?

  33. When Invisible started, all I could think was, 'My God, they've done it again. This is going to pretty much define indoor concerts for a long time.' I then got to see it three other times and watch the faces of my friends and brother as they realized maybe I'm not so insane to be constantly mentioning how amazing U2 is. I also finally got my brother to admit Edge was a great guitar player and not all about special effects. That one, I'll be milking for a very long time as it's my little brother and I was right! Thanks, U2.

  34. Yes, we have a (not so) good medical system. It's for everybody and you don't need to pay anything for it, which is great! Part of the population prefers to pay for health care (like me), but it's optional. The vaccines offered here are Sinovac and Aztrazeneca (so far) and it's still in the elderly group. Since we have a large population of young and middle aged people, it's not gonna happen that soon .... I hope I will get it asap, but I don't think it will happen before September.

  37. That's a whole other question. I'm not fanatical about the royals myself, and the idea of one family being put above the rest of us does look increasingly outdated - especially if you don't believe the religious aspect. Equally, I wouldn't like the idea of our politicians having any more power than they already do - especially some of the current lot. We've seen in America and Brazil how you can very easily end up with very unsuitable people being president. And a number of other European countries still have monarchies (Netherlands, Spain, Norway etc) and they seem to be happy wit

  38. We had a regular song discussion feature in another fan community years ago, and I wrote up some of the performances from this concert. Thought I'd share a couple here in case anyone likes reading that sort of thing. This was my attempt to describe With Or Without You at the end of 2006:

  40. I had my first Covid vaccination this morning. It looks like the health service in my town may well have already got round to doing my whole age group - and there was a good, steady stream of people coming in to get theirs, so hopefully that means most people in the area are accepting the vaccine when they're called for it. It was very quick and I barely even felt the needle. Nothing to worry about at all I have the appointment sorted for the second dose - and it's just after my birthday. My present for this year is being protected from Covid.

  41. ...and... I meant to post this a lot sooner. Back in 1847, the Choctaw Nation (a tribe of Native Americans) gave $147 (approx. $5000 in today's dollars) in relief aid to the people of Ireland during their great famine. The people of Ireland have long memories and like to repay debts - so they have been raising lots of money in a GoFundMe campaign for Native Americans suffering from the coronavirus. That's how one repays a debt...story here: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2020/05/06/coronavirus-irish-donate-native-americans-cite-great-famine-help/5174302002/

  42. Let's hear it (again) for Ireland. The Irish Prime Minister, Leo Varadkar, who was a junior doctor until 2013 (and then became Minister of Health) before becoming Prime Minister, has volunteered himself to be on the medical register again - that means he's going to work combating the COVID-19 pandemic until it is over in Ireland.
