  3. The Promise Dec 2020 - "First downloads, track listing details and news on delivery coming in early 2021" The Reality May 2021 - Track listing - Yes Downloads - None Delivery - Not even close I think we are past early 2021 and its the same every year. I really don't understand why in the digital/streaming age, if you are eligible for the fan club gift its not accessible straight away on your account?

  4. Check your e-mails, if you haven't done so recently - according to the e-mail about this set, apparently, in addition to the 2 CDs and nice packaging, we are getting...a facemask too! 😄 This added feature could be part of the delay, I suppose. Anyway, that's a cool extra! 👍

  5. I just want to stress no hard feelings towards you. I know we often have a different view of the way things are done with u2.com or maybe come at it from different angles but any frustration or annoyance I’am expressing is not aimed at you. The downloads do sound great no disputing that.

  9. This topic came up before in another thread, and I'll summarize what I said there here. IMHO, I'd be very surprised if they didn't release another set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of AB. They double-dipped for JT (i.e., it got both 20th and 30th anniversary sets); thus, I expect the only other U2 album to sell more than 10 million copies worldwide to get the same treatment. There are other reasons to think this will happen too. The last two deluxe sets released (i.e., JT and ALYCLB) not only had CD versions, but vinyl versions as well (at absolutely eye-watering p

  11. Hello... welcome to Zootopia. By now this is kind of a FAQ... Regarding if something will be released to commemorate the Achgtung Baby! / ZOOTV anniversary, as of right now it's something unknown - best would be to keep checking periodically the site, the official band social media accounts and Zootopia... as soon as there are some official news about any release (or re-release), you will find it here. For the moment being, you are welcome to participate in any (or all) of the conversations from the fan community...maybe some fan made events will be organized...

  12. We made a special trip to Sydney IMAX to see U23D (about 2 hours down the freeway), I don’t remember how far into its run though. There were probably only 20 other people in the theatre (and nobody else was wearing a U2 t shirt but me 😂😂)

  13. Perhaps we need to make some things clear about this... Please have in mind that having a U23D screening it's not like going to Blockbuster and just grab the movie to show it somewhere... it definitely can be done and eventually a screening is doable: the last one that we are aware of was for an event at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, some years ago (but it's possible that it was screened after that event, some time later) Just that it requires some organization to make it happen. Serious organization. It may very well be that some movie chain decides to have it on their rotati

  15. That's a whole other question. I'm not fanatical about the royals myself, and the idea of one family being put above the rest of us does look increasingly outdated - especially if you don't believe the religious aspect. Equally, I wouldn't like the idea of our politicians having any more power than they already do - especially some of the current lot. We've seen in America and Brazil how you can very easily end up with very unsuitable people being president. And a number of other European countries still have monarchies (Netherlands, Spain, Norway etc) and they seem to be happy wit

  16. That’s a great story of your own! Yes, the scenery there is indescribably awesome (it’s nice to use that word properly and not in a jokey OTT 80’s way). There are two more days to be recounted - as I told Max, the 6th is especially U2-ey. 😎

  17. You're welcome for all the photos! 😊 Some of the best ones are yet to come - our final day (before leaving day, that is) in LA was very U2-oriented. In order to avoid offending the more politically-sensitive, I'll send one extra-good photo to you in a message - it's like the pre-"Exit" video from the JT anniversary tour in one still photo. 😎 The portal of tacos and tequila sounds like a good portal - I hope it is that.

  21. ...and a bit more, now that I have finally heard it all. One of the sites that rates shows has said that the recording of this show is one of the best ever, and I have to concur. The band and audience were fully on for MSG 3, and the recording captures that. It is lovely to have a permanent reminder of such a wonderful concert. A great show is coming your way soon, Europe!

  22. ...and thanks to the humble suggestions from kind and friendly folk, I have been able to track down this show for my listening pleasure! The comment about The Edge's guitar sound during "Cedarwood Road" that was made by a woman standing near me (and also made in my own mind at the same time) still holds true - even on the recording his sound is awesome! I'm still on the first half of the show, but so far this listening delight is filling the void I have felt since the day after Uncasville (July 4, to be exact). More later...

  24. ...and a P.S. to celebrate a week's passing since I saw one of the best U2 shows I have ever seen - in fact, the last two I saw were among their very best ever, IMHO. I am so grateful that the band (and their team behind the scenes) designed and executed such an amazing tour. It is only a few days after the Mohegan Sun finale, and I already miss seeing/hearing this concert. As I already said in a previous post, I hope they set a record for how quickly they can bring a DVD/BluRay to market for this tour; I'll be pre-ordering the deluxe version (whatever it turns out to be) immediately.

  26. @vertigojds I cannot fathom the run of bad luck you have had with people around you during your shows. The timing of the worst "fan" being at the same show that you brought your wife to, I mean, what are the odds? One of the things I am wholeheartedly impressed with, really from U2360 onward, is how egalitarian the shows have been, i.e., your observation that being physically close is not necessarily the "best" view and that they want to entertain everyone in the arena/stadium. Each tour, they do it a little better. This was the most all-inclusive the show has been, IMHO. I'm glad yo

  27. Thank you @mich40! I took this shot because, obviously, it was at the end of the show. I knew I would not be seeing (barring a miracle) this show and stage-setup again. The barricage, e-stage, and main stage are finally at rest, and they are also having their final moments in MSG, before they, to quote Bono from ZooTV, “join the other satellites” ?. I loved this stage and wanted one shot of it overall at rest, as if it were tired and satisfied in a job well done. (“Mission accomplished” are words usually applied jokingly to things since they were used once to describe a particular un

  28. I have one more picture at the end that I'll have to have Mich add for me. That will appear after this post. A few more words for now: I have to thank @JCF from the site for initiating me into the bizarrely-wonderful madness that is the hardcore GA line ritual. She helped me navigate something that I wouldn't have ever dreamed to do on my own. Doing so made both shows we saw together more enjoyable, not only for the physical proximity to the stage/band, but also for her intensity of fandom during the shows - I know there are quite a few here, but she is definitely one of the biggest Adam

  29. Ok - I promise that I didn’t ask Bono to pose for this shot, and further promise that this was taken on an iPhone (and not a recent one). Bono wishes all of MSG and America a Happy 4th of July, so to speak, during “American Soul”:

  30. OK - I have several shots of Bono during "American Soul" and they are good ones. One in particular is a "money shot" - I'm going to save that one for last (of that sequence anyway), and I'm going to go on record to say that the site (meaning those who run/administrate the site) may use the photo as they wish (if they wish, that is.) Here's the first one:

  37. OK - I am far too awake from tonight to go to sleep (insert appropriate line from "Bad" here)... Those of you who were able to listen to the show know it was (to borrow a term I learned in the UK) a blinder. The thing is, it was the second blinder in a row: Newark was phenomenal; tonight's show was just microscopically better. I haven't seen every show on this tour, BUT, based on the five I did see (including tonight) and the prevailing theme about tonight's show from the conversations of those who saw earlier ones, I would have to at least nominate this one for "best of the tour". 39. An outstanding show - one that reveals that it's always worth it to catch them for more than one show on any given tour. I saw them ten days before in Philadelphia, and that show was incredible too. The only downside for that show was that it was very humid - otherwise, it was a very enjoyable time. Last night, though, we had about as close to perfect weather as one could hope for in late June in the Northeast - relatively cool and low humidity. When I went through the setlists for shows before Philly, I noticed that they seemed to be alternating "Bad" and ASOH, as well as "Vertigo"

  40. Wow! Thank you for finding that! Someone was alert in the U2 camp for finding this in time for the tour!
    1 point
  41. Well, not to belabor the point, but they have had such opinions since at least 1983, if not for their entire career. I don't think they think they are trying to be above it all either. If they can be helpful in their position, they would like to be - that's always been their M.O. It's also fine that you care less what celebrities have to say about the state of the world; however, if that were really true, why did you feel the need to take U2 to task for the movie snippet on their own message board? Yes, it was a great show, and I'm very happy that you are exposing your son/daughter t

  42. Actually, I (and very many in the stadium) found that quite amusing - I don't know who around the band found that snippet from an old movie, but the fact that it lined up so well with modern events made that quite a good find. If you're attempting to criticize the band for criticizing our current administration, they have always spoken truth to power - no problem there. Bono was also quite diplomatic all night in praising political left and right (former Pres. Bush and even Rick Santorum(!) got a shout out from him).

  43. Loved the show too - I also was hoping for "Homecoming". They seem to be linking "Homecoming" and the new track ("The Little Things That Give You Away") and interchanging that pair with "Bad"/"Vertigo". I've seen/heard the second pair lots of times - I haven't heard either of the other two live ever. So, I hope they will play the "Homecoming" pair when I see them next on the 28th. I've seen them do "Ultraviolet" quite a few times, so the return of "Mysterious Ways" (especially with the visuals) was quite nice, IMHO. I would be happy with either. Roll on the 28th!
