  1. Adam turns 60 on this Friday, the 13th of March. We want to celebrate him here in the Zoo in grand fashion. Please help us in wishing him the very best of birthdays in this thread with your own messages, your favourite photos and stories and your favourite bass lines. My wish for him is that he has the very best birthday filled with happiness and love.

  2. Welcome guys to this new thread that will hopefully be filled with laughter and conversations and will turn into a nice chapter of the zootopians resilience. ✌️ Ghost towns are emerging all over the world because of that nasty virus and the very necessary lock in. Every day it just gets a bit more scarier. Anxiety is rising up for everyone. I was walking the aisles of my local supermarket the other day and all I could see was empty shelves. No toilet paper, no canned tuna, not the one veggie that my kids actually want to eat. That’s depressing. The fear in people's eyes and distanc

  3. Happy Birthday, Bono! Thank you for being such an admirable person! Thank you for making so great a difference in our world! Thank you for taking action to fight against injustice. Thank you for writing songs that inspire our lives. You always say that we give you a great life; but U2 gives us one too! Greetings from Brazil! Here's a picture taken in March of 2008 (12 years ago) in Dublin:

  4. Happy birthday to the poshest, coolest, the best kimono wearer of the band, Mr. Awesome Clayton ! (that'd be you Adam. Just in case) 60. That deserves a few words. Or maybe just one... Thanks. Thanks for always having a kind word for us fans even if that means showing up late after show in your bathrobe / kimono (Note : it's only cool when YOU do it. Talking from experience) Thanks for the #Pinkadam love (and all the times I lost it out of utter joy when we could see it peaking behind your bass). Thanks for trying every single time to read our signs at the rail, even the

  5. Happy Birthday to my favorite singer! I hope your special day is extra-special despite our unusual times. It’s easy to remember your birthday because it is the same as my Dad’s (and the one for one my brothers is the same as The Edge’s - I guess I was destined to be a U2 fan). This Sunday is extra special too because it coincides with Mother’s Day here in the US - and, as it turns out, my mother was a big fan of yours too. By a strange turn of fate, we even saw a show together on the Vertigo tour; details here: https://zootopia.u2.com/forums/topic/39207-u2-and-mothers-day/ So, thank

  6. Adam was right in front of me for a large majority of 4 of the 5 e&i shows I saw. This picture w/ Bono was my favorite of all the ones I have of him (July 1st, 2018 - MSG #3, for anyone who may be curious about which show the picture is from). The only bass player U2 could ever have, both in sound and in look - he’s perfect in both. Putting the “sexy” in sexagenarian. Happy birthday, Adam!

  8. Long post...but as many know, Rattle and Hum means the world to me, and I’m sharing this for probably the 269th time. Gloria drew me in in 1983 and I was a fairly casual fan until 1988. But I worked at a movie theater when the movie came out and as the saying goes, the rest was history. I remember we got the trailers in to promote the movie and there were several of us that were curious to see what it was all about, so after we added it to one of the movies, we went down into the theater to watch it. We had it set up on our biggest screen and I will never forget the feeling that came ove

  9. Happy birthday dear Bono, Wishing you all the best for your 60th birthday. Maybe you had other plans than being in lockdown for it.. But eh, you're home, with the people who love you the most, and I'm almost certain you've got a few good bottles to celebrate so I'm not worried you'll have an excellent one! We'll sure make some noise for you, in our different sides of the world (even if we don't need more excuses for our day drinking) - all apart and yet coming together to celebrate our favourite (very tall) showman. And I promise, that's gonna be one hell of a joyful noise. T

  12. Hi all, after speaking to fellow fans, we thought it would be a good idea to have a dedicated thread in one place to list all of our ideas for future subscriber gifts and subscriber specials. In the past the mod team have asked us what the fans would like to see, so having all our ideas in one place would be a good idea. The purpose of this thread is to provide constructive and realistic ideas and suggestions. I'll go first. 14. I think that was one if you look at the right side of the stage, directly under the lamp you can see side stage. (Photo credit to someone else, not mine) Here it is in one of my photos, right there at Bono. I can say that the floor was shaking like crazy and any video footage would have been highly affected by it. I remember somewhere between I Will Follow, Out of Control and Electric Co, the floor was shaking so much, my friend and I held on to each other to keep from falling. I remember thinking that if the floor collapsed, at least I was having the time of my life.

  16. Opinions, ideas and point of views are not monolithic entities - they can be revised over time and changed and adjusted when it applies, even to a point in which a total change of course or an opposite direction is an obligation. What may have been acceptable some years ago is not necessary what is acceptable now... after all, no one is the same person that was years ago. The same applies for the use of certain words, like the one was bleeped on this broadcast... Maybe this article could be of interest... I think it explains clearly why it was wrong for Patti Smith to use it, then...

  17. Can you believe that September 25th marks 44 years of U2? Looking around the socials, there are several things going on to celebrate this occasion. Right here in the Zoo, we have a couple of things going on. Tomorrow, (Friday, 25 September), we have the 4th annual (if my calculations are correct) U2 T-shirt Day: https://zootopia.u2.com/forums/topic/41325-u2-t-shirt-day-25-september-2020/?tab=comments#comment-1198471 On Saturday, we also have a listening party for The Unforgettable Fire, here: https://zootopia.u2.com/forums/topic/41346-u2getherathome-a-celebration-of-th

  21. As I said th other day, there's a few thoughts I'd like to share beforehand about that particular show. It's something I wrote a while back when the DVD came out. That live in Paris is for sure the most special one for me. Because I was there. Because I was supposed to be there. To that show that was postponed. It's a long read and i'm very sorry in advance, but I hope it can help you see that DVD as I see it... and understand how so very special it is. It wasn't an easy one to write, still not an easy one to share.. but there you go. ---------- The day has finally come!

A very very rainy night. I was at the barrier, in front row, Adam's side. It was the coolest gig of my life! Loving your fashion style, Happy Birthday, Lord Clayton!

  25. No pics of Adam because I do not take pics at shows. I almost always end up right by Adam for U2 shows. He's always looked so chill onstage. Vertigo was when I first noticed the grin he gets when he's looked over at us in Chicago. I have no idea what he was thinking. Part of it feels like, 'You guys are nuts.', I don't know. Happy Birthday, Adam Clayton.

  31. One of my favorite U2 stories was for this tour. I got tickets for the Staples center on Nov. 1st, 14th row behind the stage. Was a bit bummed to be looking at their backs the whole show... but, hey, we're in the building right? Turns out the first 13 rows behind the stage were collapsed to make way for the stage, making row 14 actually row 1. Then Bono spent half the show singing to Larry because his birthday was the day before. Absolutely amazing. Here's one of the many pictures I took, makes me wish digital cameras were better back then!

  32. Well ... That's been fun eh ? Pretty emotional right now so i'll try to be quick. Thank you. All of you. So so much for turning this idea into a reality, and a brilliant one Those watch along really meant the world to me during those hard times and they have proven once more that we get to carry each other. Some people told me that i'm a U2 fan and a U2 fans fan. And it's true, i love this band just as much as I love this community and this whole thing is the perfect example of why I do. Stay safe, stay strong. Don't let the silence settle though. Keep being those vibrant

As I'm only 23 and again as I've said, probably the youngest person here, I haven't been able to have the experiences other people here have had and sometimes it makes me sad, but I'm happy to be here now and not later. So happy birthday to my favorite singer and here's to many more years! And here's one of my favorite pictures and a nice throwback... I've been trying to draw for it for a few days.

  40. I completely agree with all of the above - since JT got a double dip on Deluxe Editions, I fully expect AB to get the same treatment. (I hope that there will be more that is unique to a new AB Deluxe set than there was between the two JT sets (frankly, I thought the 2007 JT set was better than the 2017 version)). I also think that a tour supporting a new album and a AB anniversary tour are not necessarily mutually exclusive. You could easily do both: AB in full, selections from a hoped-for new album, “Streets” w/ a handful of other classics...and there’s a complete setlist! 😎 I also
