  2. Very nice looking set. 👍 Just please release it all at once for download. The "two songs now, two songs later" routine is unnecessary BS.

  3. I got my second Moderna vaccination today. While I was getting it, I got a text saying one of my favorite bands, Dawes, just announced a tour. I'll be seeing at least three of those shows and they always announce more for Spring. They are even coming to a venue I can walk to, drink and safely walk home. Normally, I've got quite a drive and cannot drink. That's six concerts in my future, including these three Dawes shows.

  5. Hallelujah! 🙏 Thank you very much for releasing the full show! Now let me expand on why I am so delighted that you have done it (and why I asked for exactly that all the way back on pg. 1 of this thread, along with many others subsequently). I was annoyed that certain...let’s call them “morally-flexible”...people were selling this show at places that one can obtain such recordings. All those people did was record the show off of the Sirius broadcast (thus, no “Red Flag Day”) and sell the show without having permission to do so. Of course, there are many ways to address such a situation -

  7. Absolutely- LIVE shows with the best possible audio is what the vast majority of fans want from these gifts. Imagine having the Sellafield ‘ 92 gig, for example .

  8. I just want to post another comment about the Apollo set. Really I think it’s excellent we’re getting the full show, I do hope we get the full show to download soon while we wait for the physical release but I also hope in future we’ll continue to get plenty of live stuff. I have to admit I’m not interested in books or photos but if that is a gift one year at least give us a full show to download alongside that. The fanclub is heading in the right direction, a full show 2 years in a row, one on cd, one on dvd and the year prior to that 2 cd’s worth of live material including some really rare l

  9. I concur. (I always thought that was done in the past as an effort to “buy time”, as it were. Having a couple of songs intermittently spread out over a long period of time just looked like a placating effort that, frankly, just wasn’t very pleasing - it was much more frustrating than pleasing.) Anyway, I agree. 👍

  10. I am happy to report that I now have tickets to three Dawes shows. The first presale sold out yesterday (weird) before I could get tickets. I got in another and got tix for Chicago. I'm also thinking of going for broke and going to Nashville to see them at the Ryman Auditorium, which is the old Grand Ole Opry. Fellow fans are doing a VIP package where you get a pic and a private show during soundcheck, etc. I don't know. I feel weird meeting famous people as a fan. It's odd. I've known famous people but never like that so I'm very leery. Anyhow, three Dawes shows and counting. I am

  12. Good observations to note - my Dad gets his second dose of the Moderna vaccine this coming Sunday. He had no observable side effects after the first dose (however, knowing my Dad, he would have done his very best not to show it if he had felt anything wrong - oh, those Baby Boomers...); however, the public reporting has been saying consistently that the side effects after the second dose are much more numerous/potent. You seem to be feeling that. I'll be vigilant on Sunday. Feel better/less lethargic as soon as you can!

  13. I was wise enough to send my dog elsewhere until I recover from the second vaccination. I'm not so much sick as I feel like I'm 192 years old. (at least) I'm back to deciding which is greater: my need to get up to use the bathroom or my desire to not make a move and do absolutely nothing. It's ridiculous. I wanna slap myself, say get up and do something, ya little birch. I'm too tired. 🤣

  14. Johanna, There is no way to guarantee that the band will or can send any well-wishes, but be sure that all of us in the community are thinking about your father and you, and we are sending all of our best wishes for the best possible outcome...

  15. I had very few side effects. Some cold shivers the first night after the vaccination and I felt a bit fatigued the day after, but nothing really apart from that. I know some people have felt feverish and had cold/flu-like side effects, but I didn't. My good thing for today is that I managed to have a day out to another town. I returned some library books, borrowed 2 more and bought 2 more books from an independent bookshop that's one of my favourites. I also got to visit one of my favourite comic shops and catch up with the owners for the first time in months, as well as buying a Star War

  16. So the outside box was heavy duty, much like the AB20 box, and the design was based on The Virtual Road poster. Within were 4 x 12'' vinyl, the four VR live EPs, in sleeves identical to their digital covers. Paris was blue, white & red marble. Mexico was lemon yellow. Slane was green, white and gold. Red Rocks was, er, red. Fans were united in awe and wonder! Then I woke up... But ye can have the idea for nothing!! 🤫

  19. I also got a new couch. It was a great deal and is being custom made. This one is wide enough that my dog can lie with me on it. The one I have is not.

  20. Paris was filmed with 4K cameras but released on Blu Ray/DVD. Berlin was filmed in 4K but released on DVD. At this rate Heartland will be released on VHS. 😀

  21. Someone told me about a great One of the first night in Turin during this tour. Unfortunately I missed it. I went the day after for the second night. Zucchero AKA Sugar Fornaciari was U2's guest that evening. A few months later Bono wrote a song for him, S.O.S., "Streets of Surrender," apparently inspired by Paris.

  22. What a great show! 😎 (..and with "40" during the credits 👍) As some of you may know already, for reasons I explained in an older post, I didn't see this tour. So, this Paris show was my i&e concert, as it were. It will always have special memories for me. I was living in the UK at the time, and the BBC got this show on air very shortly after the show actually occurred. So, I got my live U2 fix in short order. Thanks to the site for showing this - I could definitely hear an improvement in the audio. 👍

  23. Many mentioned it earlier, but it was so classy of U2 to hand over the stage at the end. Just a wonderful thing to do.

  26. I love that they did the video tribute for the victims in Paris in a similar way to how they honored the victims of 9/11 during the later "Elevation" tour shows. Quite apropos.

  30. I've really enjoyed the live music releases - either on CD or the vinyl/mp3 combo. The idea of a live, complete '92 Zoo TV show for the 2022 subscriber's gift sounds awesome. Along those lines, I'd definitely like to see a Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary show released - it feels like we've been hearing about the movie for years now - if the video is held up for whatever reason, a complete show as an audio release would be great. I know Popmart can be divisive, but it made me a fan. I'd love to see a subscriber gift of a show from the 1st or 2nd leg of the tour. I have also contin

  32. I'm the Pastor of a small church in St Albans Uk and I also manage a community Food Bank. The Food Bank is hosted by my church and since we began the x4 local churches have been the main suppliers for donations to the food bank. March 2020 and all churches stopped physical service, moved online but the repercussions were that the food bank donations had no obvious source. It was a real concern. Every week during this pandemic I have had at least 3-4 offers of donations to the food bank from people I do not know in the community. People have been donating bags of shoppi

  34. I think I would buy it... If they did something nice with it. I love a good boxset tbh because there's always a ton of great stuff inside... It's like a forever Christmas present - because I tend to forget about what's in there after a while 😅 I would die for a I+E/E+I one seriously... I'm sure they'd come up with great goodies on the theme of Innocence to Experience. I am an absolute stream addict but I tend to buy stuff I really like without hesitation. If I'm not mistaken there was a download link for I+E too? That's the best. Having the physical stuff AND the dematerialized vers

  35. I'm struggling to find an instance where the use of modern technology doesn't equal better technology. The reason why technology has advanced is because their most recent iterations is better than their previous counterparts. 4K BD > BD > DVD > VHS. I do agree though that unfortunately many people don't care about the quality of things. The Facebook posts in the fans groups show this. Many people watch their DVDs in their Kitchen or their bedrooms with built in DVD players on their old TVs. They wouldn't be able to do this with Blu Ray. I wonder if U2's target audience being the older

  36. I'm watching the news I can find about what is happening in Brazil. I hope you get the vaccines sooner. From what they are saying here, you have a very good medical system in place to allow vaccinations. That's through new reports so pardon me if I am misquoting. I'm begging the powers that be to help everyone get vaccinated; multiple times a day and I'm being obnoxious about it. 🙂

  42. I had my first Covid vaccination this morning. It looks like the health service in my town may well have already got round to doing my whole age group - and there was a good, steady stream of people coming in to get theirs, so hopefully that means most people in the area are accepting the vaccine when they're called for it. It was very quick and I barely even felt the needle. Nothing to worry about at all I have the appointment sorted for the second dose - and it's just after my birthday. My present for this year is being protected from Covid.
