  2. I got the golden ticket through the Sirius XM random drawing!!! I'm still in total shock!!! I must have re-read the email 100 times to make sure it was real. I'm so glad they're opening it up to the fan club too. It's the right thing to do. I'm taking my sister. We've both been going to U2 shows since the Unforgettable Fire tour, but somehow we've never sat together. (She always managed to get better seats than me!) Practicing Angel of Harlem on the guitar, cuz you never know!!! Fingers crossed for everyone in the contest!

  3. OK - So today i got to go for my first ever pre-sale for the Singapore show. Due to location and circumstance, I had never been in a position to go through this process before, so having been a member of U2.com for years, the Singapore announcement was a dream come true. Having watched from the sidelines for a number of years, i had always thought the moderators did a fanstastic job, and felt a strong sense of community within Zootopia. Today, when things went a bit awry in the presales, I experienced first hand what I have watched for years and I am very grateful. The image below pretty mu

  4. Adam turns 60 on this Friday, the 13th of March. We want to celebrate him here in the Zoo in grand fashion. Please help us in wishing him the very best of birthdays in this thread with your own messages, your favourite photos and stories and your favourite bass lines. My wish for him is that he has the very best birthday filled with happiness and love.

  5. i will say that it was a blur. The guys were so friendly and genuine. All four came in. Larry didn’t stick around for mini golf but he was really cordial. Bono ,Edge and Adam all seemed so happy to do this! They were really into the mini golf too! We were with them for about 20 minutes or so right before the show started. All the things we thought we wanted to ask sort of went out the window when they walked in. We were overwhelmed but they are so easy to talk with. It was like hanging out at a party and talking. At one point my wife was talking with Adam to one side and

  6. Yes I am on here! Ive been a fan since around 1983, thanks to my brother. My wife and I are still in shock...never in a million years expected to be selected. This is most definitely a bucket list item to remember forever. We still haven’t gotten all the details of when this will happen. Hopefully, we will be able to hold it together and have a normal conversation without seeming too starstruck. Thanks for the well wishes! Paul

  7. Welcome guys to this new thread that will hopefully be filled with laughter and conversations and will turn into a nice chapter of the zootopians resilience. ✌️ Ghost towns are emerging all over the world because of that nasty virus and the very necessary lock in. Every day it just gets a bit more scarier. Anxiety is rising up for everyone. I was walking the aisles of my local supermarket the other day and all I could see was empty shelves. No toilet paper, no canned tuna, not the one veggie that my kids actually want to eat. That’s depressing. The fear in people's eyes and distanc

  8. Happy birthday to the poshest, coolest, the best kimono wearer of the band, Mr. Awesome Clayton ! (that'd be you Adam. Just in case) 60. That deserves a few words. Or maybe just one... Thanks. Thanks for always having a kind word for us fans even if that means showing up late after show in your bathrobe / kimono (Note : it's only cool when YOU do it. Talking from experience) Thanks for the #Pinkadam love (and all the times I lost it out of utter joy when we could see it peaking behind your bass). Thanks for trying every single time to read our signs at the rail, even the

  11. Couple of points, yes some of the answers I gave (my interpretations, not there in ANY official capacity - as I stated in the podcast) - some of the facts I were given were not correct. And in fact I would go further, I was misled on some things which I relayed on that episode. for which I have asked the atu2 guys an opportunity to go back on to explain. We mods are not employees of ticketmaster, we are fans. We relay what we can, when we can. We follow guidelines and try our best to represent fans when we can, and point fans in the right direction at all times. Whilst I underst

  12. Adam was right in front of me for a large majority of 4 of the 5 e&i shows I saw. This picture w/ Bono was my favorite of all the ones I have of him (July 1st, 2018 - MSG #3, for anyone who may be curious about which show the picture is from). The only bass player U2 could ever have, both in sound and in look - he’s perfect in both. Putting the “sexy” in sexagenarian. Happy birthday, Adam!

  13. I just wanna say thanks to everyone here for the pleasant company over the past few months. This forum is like a breath of fresh air compared to the others I've tried - it's so nice to find somewhere I can talk about my favourite songs/albums and have people actually *agree* with me, instead of insulting me! Often I feel quite lonely in this fandom, so I've really enjoyed hanging out with you guys during the shows.

  15. Hi everyone, I was caller 10 this morning! I was home listening on the app on my phone. As soon as I heard it started playing, I called. The first time, after about 10 seconds of silence, I hung up. Then the second time silence for a few seconds, then started ringing... Then a woman said - Hi - you are caller number 10! That's when I almost fainted... So for everyone listening on the app, you most definitely can win!! Good luck!!

  16. My first show was also 1985, at the Worcester Centrum. I have attended every tour since then. U2 have ALWAYS been political, and if you don't like that, this is probably not the right band for you. I am not quite sure how you managed to attend 41 shows and not pick up on this. I just got back from the LA show and you are wrong. It was sold out. There is extra space at the Forum on the GA floor for safety, but all tickets were sold. Tickets for tomorrow's show are $500 on stubhub for the floor, only 9 seats left. So you are inaccurate, my friend. You also should prob

  17. My experience from the 2015 and 2017 tours is that a select few fans manipulated the system to allow themselves prime positions in line without actually having to wait in line, going against previously announced venue rules, which put the majority of fans at a disadvantage. Generally, the venue will set a rule saying that people are not allowed to begin lining up before a set time. What then happens is that a select few fans decide that this rule doesn't apply to them, and start their own line, often not at the actual venue. Then, they show up at the time the venue says the line is allo

  18. Yes it sound Pollyanna, but hey...there are good things that showed up from this presale/sale situation. This negativity, however deserved, is getting me down! In light of Thanksgiving week I will start by listing a few good things: It shows how much we love our band. How much faith we have in them (and I still have faith they will try to make it right—but It’s impossible to please everyone—back In Propaganda days we just didn’t have a place to complain together ?). How passionate we all are about U2. They are touring and making new music. The guys will be on SNL 12/2 and having th

In reading U2.com/help: Can I register for other Verified Presales if I participate in the Verified Subscriber Presale, like Verified Citi and Verified Fan? Yes, you may register for the other Presales in addition to the U2.com Verified Subscriber Presale. 22. Long post...but as many know, Rattle and Hum means the world to me, and I’m sharing this for probably the 269th time. Gloria drew me in in 1983 and I was a fairly casual fan until 1988. But I worked at a movie theater when the movie came out and as the saying goes, the rest was history. I remember we got the trailers in to promote the movie and there were several of us that were curious to see what it was all about, so after we added it to one of the movies, we went down into the theater to watch it. We had it set up on our biggest screen and I will never forget the feeling that came ove

I recall hearing the first single lifted off the album - it was called 'With or Without You' (i know you know), strange sound n all that and thinking 'what the feck is this - bit feckin wierd - this isn't 'Pride', this isn't 'Homecoming' , where is 'Bad' #2? - what the feck is this? this is slow!! Who recalls the first time they heard 'The Fly' as a first release off AB? Raised eyebrows? Always with U2, it wouldn't be the same U2 if they didn't pose the questions I think this release is full of 'g

  30. We are doing something right now - we're doing our best to get up the chain of command with as many fan stories, as many examples and the like to let them know this is as bad - or worse - than 2005. We can't fix what has happened, but we're working hard to find an amenable agreement about it. The band's PR is notified, and we're doing what we can. There's nothing we can report on right now.

  33. Opinions, ideas and point of views are not monolithic entities - they can be revised over time and changed and adjusted when it applies, even to a point in which a total change of course or an opposite direction is an obligation. What may have been acceptable some years ago is not necessary what is acceptable now... after all, no one is the same person that was years ago. The same applies for the use of certain words, like the one was bleeped on this broadcast... Maybe this article could be of interest... I think it explains clearly why it was wrong for Patti Smith to use it, then...

  36. As I said th other day, there's a few thoughts I'd like to share beforehand about that particular show. It's something I wrote a while back when the DVD came out. That live in Paris is for sure the most special one for me. Because I was there. Because I was supposed to be there. To that show that was postponed. It's a long read and i'm very sorry in advance, but I hope it can help you see that DVD as I see it... and understand how so very special it is. It wasn't an easy one to write, still not an easy one to share.. but there you go. ---------- The day has finally come!

  38. No pics of Adam because I do not take pics at shows. I almost always end up right by Adam for U2 shows. He's always looked so chill onstage. Vertigo was when I first noticed the grin he gets when he's looked over at us in Chicago. I have no idea what he was thinking. Part of it feels like, 'You guys are nuts.', I don't know. Happy Birthday, Adam Clayton.

Put in the amazing The Little Things That Give You Away and this could be one of their best which is incredible after all these years. And from a live show perspective these will all sound really good live. Especially Blackout.

  40. I understand, and can sympathize with this reasoning. The problem is that you didn't pay $50 for a DVD. You paid to be a member of this website/fanclub. The gift is only one part of a larger sum. I don't understand people saying I didn't pay for this gift when they purchased something with multiple components. U2 never says what any gift will or will not be until it is officially announced. This is what they've chosen to do this year. It is what it is. I can undertand being disappointed. I can understand someone consdering if they want to keep subscribing. I don't understand the constan

I still don't have IE on BluRay because somethng always eats up my money before I can get around to buying it. . If I focus on being unhappy with the font when the Sun rises with my name on it-I miss the silent brilliance of the moment. Perhaps they'll release EI for commerical release on bluray, it will be a North America show and many of us will have our hope to have a physical copy of both ful

  42. It was a problem on all of their recent tours. A small group commandeers the front of the line, sets up their own lists and check-ins and pushes out the locals. Their feeling is that they follow the band, so they are entitled to the front row. It breeds resentment among those who cannot spend the time or money traveling around following U2 and only go to see them when they visit their hometown (I live in NYC, so they are here on every tour - I've seen them multiple times in the last 5 years without having to go more than about 30 miles from home). When you are seeing them in your hometown, you

First night did not go well for me - I had a really horrible GA experience that made it hard to enjoy any part of the show, even hearing my favourite songs. The e-stage segment was fun (I've never seen Edge so smiley before!) and I finally got to witness a live MacPhisto speech, though it was mostly the same one as Manchester 2 and I was a bit thrown by the total lack of crowd response. Acrobat was undoubtedly the highlight, though - I've been avoiding streams and videos so this was the first ti

  47. A dream has almost come true....Three years ago when U2 were in New York for their I&E tour, I waited with countless other fans to meet them on July 18, 2015. When Bono came out, he signed my sign and Billie Holiday postcard. I am so shy, but I wrestled up the courage to tell him that I am U2's #1 fan (everyone says that), that I grew up in Harlem, and wished that they'd come perform at the Apollo Theatre. When I met Edge, I also asked him about the Apollo. Today while at work, I received a text from a friend informing me that U2 will perform at the Apollo this June (sponsored by Sirius).
