  1. My experience from the 2015 and 2017 tours is that a select few fans manipulated the system to allow themselves prime positions in line without actually having to wait in line, going against previously announced venue rules, which put the majority of fans at a disadvantage. Generally, the venue will set a rule saying that people are not allowed to begin lining up before a set time. What then happens is that a select few fans decide that this rule doesn't apply to them, and start their own line, often not at the actual venue. Then, they show up at the time the venue says the line is allo

  3. And the craziness has begun. U2start is reporting that a fan-run GA queue has started in Chicago for the May 22nd show. They will show up for four hours every Saturday between now and the concert on May 22nd, and will expect to be in front of the line. I'm sorry, but showing up for four hours one day a week a month ahead of time is not waiting on line. That person should not get priority over someone who shows up the night before and is willing to wait there all night. I know moderators do read the posts on these forums, and that there may be a line of communication between the fo

  5. I agree with all of what you are saying. I believe we discussed this on the last tour. A big part of the problem is that most of the venues did not enforce the rules that they originally posted and sent out to GA ticket holders. They caved in to these line "leaders" who convinced onsite security that they were "helping" organize the line. Until venue security enforces their own rules or U2 takes over control of the GA line, this will continue to be a problem for the rest of us who are trying to follow directions.

  6. My edit button doesn't seem to be working this second but I just wanted to add the following: I'll go with whatever rule system the band and venue come up with. I'd prefer a Springsteen-type lottery, but I don't think it's a requirement. What I think is essential is that whatever rule is posted for all to see must be the rule that is followed. My problem with a lot of the fan-run lists is that they go against clearly posted information, and most people won't have access to info about what the fan-run line is doing. For example, on every show I saw in 2015 and 2017 that I h

  7. Not everyone wants to hang out for upwards of 24 hr in line to be at the rail just to have some yahoos who show up later shove thier way in front. It's craziness but I found out during the last time around, f the queue and just hang in the back and enjoy the music and show. The rush and push to be close to the stage ruins an otherwise amazing experience.

  9. Bono and company will be recording in a nursing home. No need for them to end until someone gets really sick or dies. Same goes with me, I will be listening to U2 until I die.

  10. Feeling reflective about my dear sister in law who died 10 years ago today from a complication of Pregnancy. Ripped suddenly and unexpectedly from all our lives. I miss her everyday, but I am grateful everyday for my own health, family and life. these things whilst unbearably painful at the time, make you stronger, and grateful for the simple things in life, and enjoy everyday cos it might be your last. anyway Linds, Miss you, love you and I raise a glass for you. See you on the other side.

  12. Feeling Feisty because some rude and very ignorant snob type made some ASSumptions about us working class types. As far as I'm concerned, those snobby types can take their dumb luck, smug behavior and stick it!!

  13. ^^I understand you completely. My mother passed away recently, and some days I don't want to get out of bed. Luckily I can work from home sometimes.

  14. My head hurts and I called in to work partially because of that and because it's the 3 year mark that my Mom passed away. I just couldn't give myself to people at work when I didn't feel like my heart was in it today.
